Denali Park Zipline

Zipline adventure jobs just outside of Denali National Park, Alaska!

Denali Park Zipline is looking for professional, outgoing, and energetic employees to give guests a once in a lifetime experience zipping above and through Alaska’s boreal forest.

Denali National Park, Alaska

Denali Park Zipline is a local, family owned and operated company in the Denali National Park area in Alaska and a division of the Denali Park Adventures family (who also operates Denali ATV Adventures and Denali Jeep Excursions). Our tour office and gift shop are in the heart of the Denali Canyon, just outside of the national park entrance and our housing and tour launch sites are in the town of Healy, 10 miles north. We offer tours from 8am through 11pm, seven days a week, from mid-May to mid-September.  Preference will be given to applicants that are available for our entire season.

We have several available positions: Tour Representative, Tour Office Manager, Adventure Guide, Driver Guide, Tour Manager, and Assistant Tour Manager.

Ideal Candidate

Here at Denali Park Zipline, we take great pride in our employees! We are looking for people who are able to bring each of the following characteristics with them to work every day, all summer long!

Team Player - Our group of employees is more like a family. For 4-5 months, we work, eat, sleep, and have fun together in very close quarters. You must be able to consistently get along with your co-workers.

Positive Attitude - We look to hire a team of people who choose to be positive day in and day out, which isn’t hard to do in such beautiful surroundings.

Outgoing - Every one of our positions works face to face with guests. There is no time for bad days!

Professional - Each employee must take themselves and their job seriously, with the goal of providing the highest quality experience to every guest we come across. They must show up for work with a clean and neat appearance, and help keep Denali Park Zipline’s positive reputation in the small community.

Safety First Mentality - The most important part of each of our tours is that every guest comes back safely, every time. You are responsible for our guests’ safety and good judgment is key.

Attendance and Work Ethic - We have a short and very busy summer season. All employees must report to work on time, every time. There will be days that you are asked to work more than your scheduled shift.

Honest and Trustworthy - Our employees are the face of our company. We must be able to trust them, and they must be able to trust each other. We need honest employees in our office, driving our buses, guiding our tours, and managing our staff.

Fit all these qualities? We might already have a spot for you on our team!

Room and Board

At the Denali Park Zipline housing, each employee receives their own private room. Double occupancy is possible and welcome in a few of the larger bedrooms. Each room has wifi and bedding and linens are provided. There is a separate building with a community kitchen, living area, bathrooms, and laundry facilities. The living area has couches and TV.

We do not provide meal plans for employees, but do our best to help arrange trips to Fairbanks for bulk grocery shopping. There are several restaurants in the area, and two small locally owned grocery stores that can be a bit expensive but help get by between runs to Fairbanks.

Rates for employee housing are between $55 (shared room) and $80 a week (private room).

Also, there are several cabin rentals available (not associated with Denali Park Zipline) within 1 mile of our location if you would like your own cabin. They are usually more expensive ($500-$600 per month) and do not include running water, kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, internet, and TV. If living in employee housing for the summer doesn’t sound ideal to you, we highly suggest looking into local cabins as an alternative.

Employee Perks

Employees who complete the entire season and fulfill their contract are eligible for an end-of-season bonus. Also, you will receive priority when we hire for following summers, first pick at your housing, and other benefits.

Also, you will receive complimentary or discounted tours with many of the other local Denali area activities - ATV tours in the local foothills, Jeep tours down the Denali Highway, whitewater rafting on the Nenana River, meet the puppies and Iditarod Champion sled dogs at the local kennel, flight seeing tours and glacier landings around Denali, helicopter tours with glacier landings, bus trips into the national park, guided fly fishing, and more!

Getting Here and Getting Around

It is your responsibility to get here, as Denali Park Zipline does not pay for transportation to and from the Denali area, but we will help you plan your transportation as much as possible.  Our employees do receive a substantial discount on the Alaska Railroad and Motorcoach buses to our area. We can arrange to pick you up at the local train station or bus drop-off. The easiest and most economic option is to fly into Anchorage and take either the train or shuttle bus up from there.

For Fun

If you get bored up here in Alaska, it's your problem! We live near Otto Lake, where there are kayak and boat rentals available, as well as fishing and sometimes swimming (watch out for the leeches!). We are also at the base of the Healy Range, where there are countless trails and routes up to the peaks and ridges. Mountain bikes are also available for rent, or purchase a used one when you get up here. This is all without considering the 6.2 million acres of national park at your fingertips, and all of the tourist activities available to you throughout the summer. Look forward to making connections and becoming a part of one of the most unique seasonal communities in the country. Most people expect to have a quiet summer when venturing to Denali for their first time, and it turns out to be the opposite and the time goes by too fast. While you’re here get out and experience what Denali and Alaska has to offer and why tourists pay thousands of dollars to visit!
