Yosemite overflows with rich history and opportunities to try new things. You're surrounded by awe-inspiring views and iconic landmarks, such as Half Dome, El Capitan, and Yosemite Falls. On days off, you can take advantage of the park by exploring the sites in the valley, take a drive to the high country to experience the beauty of the park without another person in sight, or venture to one of the many groves of giant sequoia trees across the park.
During the summer season, employees can take advantage of rafting, hiking, rock climbing, and more. In the winter, we offer ice skating, skiing, snow tubing, and cross-country skiing. There's something for everyone, all of the time!
Yosemite boasts a team with individuals who have a passion for hospitality, love for the outdoors, and adaptable lifestyle to community living and working. The ideal candidate for Yosemite is someone who is ready to experience new things, meet new people, and have the adventure of a lifetime.
We look for individuals who can embrace the beauty of the park, be a steward of our land, and exemplify hospitality every day. Our employees create strong bonds as a community and support one another in everything they do.

Housing rates vary based on position and the type of housing available.
If you are new to Yosemite, plan on very basic accommodations, such as canvas tents and rustic cabins.
Room sizes vary between buildings and properties: for the most part, rooms are considered small, and you will have one or two roommates. Please plan accordingly. All housing options have limited storage.
We provide basic furniture of a bed, dresser/locker, and bear boxes for food storage. You are required to bring your own linen and bedding. When you join us, we will send you a full packing list to help with your transition to the park.
We offer discounts on most food operations in the park and at grocery stores (exceptions apply). Community kitchens are also available for those who prefer to cook for themselves. For those that prefer working out indoors instead of outside, you'll have access to a gym and activity center. Laundry facilities, a community center, and more are available to employees. Amenities vary based on your location in the park.
In the summertime, residents can apply to move into the Environmental Living and Learning Community (ELLC). This small neighborhood focuses on what it truly means to be a steward of the land, conserving energy and water usage. Residential employees here bond together to teach others how to live sustainable lives in Yosemite National Park. (https://www.travelyosemite.com/employment/environmental-living-learning-community/)
The Employee Recreation Team offers many free activities and facilities for current employees including:
In the winter season, from Halloween to St. Patrick’s Day, we open The Carabiner, an employee and community restaurant & lounge for all to enjoy.
Additional employee perks include discounts in food & beverage outlets, retail & grocery stores, recreation activities, and more. In addition, based on length of employment medical, dental, vision, and other benefits are available.
If you are flying, there are a few airports approximately 2.5 - 5 hours away. Most of our employees who choose to travel here by air fly into Fresno International Airport, Sacramento International Airport, San Jose International Airport, or Oakland International Airport.
Public transportation from these airports is available at different rates; plan ahead as some trips can take up to 6 hours.
There are free shuttles that transport you around the Yosemite Valley, and a low-cost bus system for nearby communities. Tickets, routes and scheduled can be found at YARTS.com.
Employees are welcome to drive to the park, but please note that parking is extremely limited, especially in the busy summer season. We encourage associates to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and walk to and from work. In addition, the park is set up with miles of bike paths, as biking is highly encouraged and the most efficient way to travel during the spring and summer.
If you plan to bring your own vehicle, please bring your current registration to our Housing Office.
If you want to experience it, we most likely have it in Yosemite! Not only does our Employee Recreation Team host a variety of events for employees to participate in, but there are many other park partners that host unique events in the park, such as arts and crafts events, tours, theater performances, wine and food events, photography classes, and park clean up days.
