    Job Description/Responsibilities:

    The Housekeeping department is responsible for the upkeep of the rooms in our various hotels and making sure the rooms are always looking perfect for every guest check-in. 

    Applicants for a Housekeeping job will be considered for the following positions, based on skill levels and business needs:

    Room Attendant/Housekeeper

    • Responsible for cleaning guest rooms and making them comfortable and inviting.

     

    Guest Room Inspector

    • Inspect rooms, verify and report status and/or discrepancies of rooms and enter into property management system.
    • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in guest rooms or public areas.

     

    Housekeeping Assistant Manager

    • Works closely with Housekeeping Manager to ensure high productivity and quality control on daily basis in all guest rooms and public areas are met by Company’s and National Park Services standards.
    • Provides supervision, training, disciplining, and evaluation to the housekeeping staff.

     

    Housekeeping Manager

    • Oversee Housekeeping department to ensure high productivity and quality control on daily basis in all guest rooms and public areas are met by Company’s and National Park Services standards.
    • Determine specific work assignments (scheduling and daily list assignments) for the Housekeeping team according to the staffing guides and occupancy levels.
    • Keep labor budgets for housekeeping staff in line with the budget issued by the Lodging Department. Report the daily and weekly reports accurately.
    • Monitor designated inventories and proper supplies through Supply Inventory System.

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and walk, stand, bend, kneel and climb up and downstairs for up to 8 hours per shift.
    • Ability to push or pull up to 200 pounds occasionally when moving linen bins.

  • Kitchen Crew

    A day in the life of the Kitchen Crew:

    • Communicate closely with chef on duty.
    • Follow recipe cards and measure ingredients.
    • Wash dishes, pots and pans, silverware, and glasses.
    • Mop floors, take out trash, general kitchen cleaning tasks.
    • Prepare cooking ingredients and simple dishes.
    • Maintain Xanterra standards of sanitation throughout kitchen area.

    Essential Skills and Knowledge:

    We are seeking Kitchen Workers that can perform kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. You will need to wash F&B wares, sweep and mop, and other general kitchen cleaning tasks. You will need the ability to communicate clearly to create a Teamwork environment. Kitchen Workes must have the ability to remain calm in a high-stress environment which is essential for this position. Will need to complete a Food Handlers certificate while on property.

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish and maintain the overall tone of the operation by communicating specific expectations to all line employees.
    • Exceed budgetary goals by maximizing sales and controlling loss; monitoring and reacting to payroll/labor issues on a daily basis; monitoring and reacting to food cost issues on a daily basis; maintaining appropriate levels of "other expense" items.
    • Work with Location Chef and other members of local management to maintain appropriate par levels of all inventory items.

    Essential Skills and Knowledge:

    • Must have a working knowledge of all departments’ positions; equipment; and understanding of administrative duties, production records, inventories, scheduling, purchasing and receiving.
    • Responsible for teaching and motivating employees and management to accomplish goals of providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
    • Must be able to remain calm in a high-stress environment while motivating and fostering a positive work environment.
    • Certification in the TIPS alcohol awareness program is required; workshops will be provided if not currently certified.

      • Host:
        • Greet, organize, and communicate with guests assigning them a wait time and providing a guest pager.

    Essential Skills and Knowledge:

    Our Red Bus Tour Drivers must be knowledgeable and courteous in giving interpretive commentary of Park features and history and have strong reading and comprehensive skills to research tour information. Drivers must have the ability to communicate effectively, through oral presentation, an accurate and informative narrative of the park. This position must practice courteous guest service while keeping tours on a time schedule, and remaining punctual.  As a Driver, this position may drive up to 10 hours driving (15 hours total work) on various types of road conditions.

    A day in the life of the Restaurant Manager

    • Responsible for the scheduling and coordination for all dining room personnel via the 7 Shifts scheduling software.
    • Be on the floor 100% of the time during a meal service period to observe, monitor, and follow up on all areas of the Dining Room operation on a daily basis.
    • Anticipate and respond to any Guest Recovery efforts.
    • Integrate and collaborate with the F&B Manager and BOH Leadership Team to grow a dynamic, challenging, and trusting workplace environment.

    Qualifications:

    Essential Skills and Knowledge:

    Our Shuttle Drivers must have the ability to communicate effectively with guests and all other co-workers. This position must practice courteous guest service while keeping shuttles on a time schedule, and remaining punctual.  As a Driver, this position may spend up to 10 hours driving (15 hours total work) on various types of road conditions.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
    • Must meet all DOT physical requirements and pass a DOT physical exam including a pre-employment drug screen and federally required random screens throughout the season, and comply with the Xanterra Driver Safety Program and Policy. 
    • Must be able to sit, stand, stretch, and bend for up to a 15 hour day. (typically 8-10 hours)
    • Able to work outdoors in variable weather (including rain, sleet, snow, direct sunlight, high winds, and temperatures ranging from 0 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Simultaneously steer a vehicle, shift its transmission, operate accelerator and brake pedals, and provide customer service while driving in heavy traffic.
    • Ability to help guest in and out of the vehicle.
    • Able to load and unload guest luggage several times a day at elevations ranging from 3,500 feet to 6,700 feet above sea level.
    • Drivers must be at least 21 years of age.

    • Be on the floor 100% of the time during a meal service period to observe, monitor and follow-up in all areas of the BOH and FOH operations on a daily basis.
    • Ensure that all stations are adequately supplied with production needs to serve for any meal period. Ensure the quality as well as the quantity.
    • Accept responsibility for your BOH operations to be in complete readiness to open punctually for every meal period and serve every menu item for the length of that period.
    • Follow and enforce Company and departmental environmental and safety practices, policies and procedures.
