    ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

    A day in the life of the Shuttle Driver:

    • Operate equipment in a safe and proper operation all weather conditions.
    • Maintain professionalism while working outdoors in extreme weather and during vehicle break-downs. 
    • Quotes costs of fares, issues tickets and receives payment. Responsible for balancing cash.
    • Assists with guest and employee luggage and the loading and unloading of the luggage.
    • Responsible for a clean and neat appearance in the approved uniform.
    • Responsible for cleaning, fueling and ensuring vehicle is safe before and after each shift.
    • Must accurately complete all daily DOT paperwork and reports each shift and file them according to policy.

    Qualifications:

    Essential Skills and Knowledge:

    Our Shuttle Drivers must have the ability to communicate effectively with guests and all other co-workers. This position must practice courteous guest service while keeping shuttles on a time schedule, and remaining punctual.  As a Driver, this position may spend up to 10 hours driving (15 hours total work) on various types of road conditions.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
    • Must meet all DOT physical requirements and pass a DOT physical exam including a pre-employment drug screen and federally required random screens throughout the season, and comply with the Xanterra Driver Safety Program and Policy. 
    • Must be able to sit, stand, stretch, and bend for up to a 15 hour day. (typically 8-10 hours)
    • Able to work outdoors in variable weather (including rain, sleet, snow, direct sunlight, high winds, and temperatures ranging from 0 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Simultaneously steer a vehicle, shift its transmission, operate accelerator and brake pedals, and provide customer service while driving in heavy traffic.
    • Ability to help guest in and out of the vehicle.
    • Able to load and unload guest luggage several times a day at elevations ranging from 3,500 feet to 6,700 feet above sea level.

    Qualifications

    Physical Requirements:

    • This position may require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations. OSHA standards require a clean-shaven face and a medical screening.
    • Must be able to walk distances over uneven terrain, and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides the administrative, physical and technical skills necessary for effectively managing all maintenance & repair activities to assigned assets (facilities, structures, grounds, systems, and any components thereof) as described in the Maintenance Plan.
    • Responsible for planning all repair activities, ensuring that all work is accomplished in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with applicable laws.
    • Responsible for scheduling and supervising all location maintenance personnel for workmanship, best use of resources, and ensures labor budget is being adhered to.
    • Conducts interviews and selects personnel, conducts performance feedback and provides the technical training for all personnel under his/her direction.
    • Responsible for the continuous development, enhancement and implementation of cyclic, predictive and preventive maintenance procedures for related responsibilities.
    • Acts as the company representative and professional liaison with vendors, outside service contractors and consultants, the National Park Service and other departments as needed.
    • Accountable for proper and accurate documentation, of all work performed, in the computerized maintenance management system; in accordance with establish Company procedures.

    Responsibilities:
    This position combines the best of hospitality management, employee engagement, and housing operations!

    • Act as the Location Manager in their absence.
    • Work with department managers and directors to ensure departmental standards are frequently monitored and are met or exceeded, and a commitment to excellent employee performance is instilled.
    • Ensure Xanterra standards and policies are executed across all departments in a consistent manner.
    • Oversee all off-duty employee personnel issues and opportunities including employee housing, organization of employee recognition, events, and outings.
    • Greet new staff and give a short tour of the housing area, rules, and regulations.
    • Take a lead role in creating events, and promoting employee recreation opportunities at the property.
    • Assist in overseeing the employee housing dorm cleaners to ensure standards are maintained in employee housing as well conduct weekly employee housing inspections.
    • Work closely with Human Resources and departmental managers to ensure employee experience expectations are met. Including housing, recreation, safety, and performance.
    • Other duties as assigned.
