  • Caterer

    Food and Beverage

    Summary/Objective 

    The Caterer works with the Food and Beverage team to ensure outstanding set-up and execution of catered events. The primary responsibility of this position is setting up, serving food, and deconstructing events such as banquets, weddings, and other social or business functions. The Caterer may work with members of various Food and Beverage entities including management and service staff, to create an experience for the guest which is seamless and exceeds their expectations. 

    Duties/Responsibilities

    · Promote sales of TRMF events and services by providing all customers with complete information and showing enthusiasm for these offerings.

    · Stay informed about Medora events and activities, attend weekly departmental informational meetings.

    · Become familiar with the products and attractions and share knowledge with customers.

    · Transports and serves food to catered events. 

    · Ensures cleanliness and organized presentation of food and amenities at each event. 

    · Follows all sanitation and cleanliness requirements of food handling.

    · Interacts with guests in a courteous and professional manner and provides a positive experience.

    · Works with the Food and Beverage Team to ensure pre-planning and execution are seamless from a guest perspective.

    · Busses tables throughout events and contributes to efficient tear down process.

    · Participates in workplace safety training sessions.

    · Be available to work shifts at the Medora Musical and other positions as needed. 

    · Performs other related duties as assigned. 

    Required Skills/Abilities

    · Excellent verbal communication skills.

    · Provide consistent, excellent customer service.

    · Reliable, on time, and ready for every shift.

    · Ability to stand for extended periods of time. 

    Required Education and Experience

    · Previous Food and Beverage/Catering experience preferred.

    · Must be familiar with safe food handling practices and be able to ensure proper transport and temperatures of food served.

    · Must be able to trouble shoot and create solutions if needed. 

    · Must give exceptional service with a smile to all guests.

    · Must be fluent in English, bilingual a plus.

    Work Environment

    This position is both an indoor and outdoor position. Indoor settings will be in a controlled, temperate environment while outside conditions may be in a hotter climate. 

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to talk, hear, hand/eye coordination, stand, walk, have repetitive use of hands and arms, and grasp. Visual acuity to determine accuracy, details and transcribe data, determine neatness and thoroughness of work assigned, and determine safety of workplace surroundings for themselves and guests. Occasionally required to push, pull, stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Sunday through Saturday. Shifts vary based on business needs and the needs of the customer.

  • Ice Cream Parlor Attendant

    Food & Beverage

    As a member of the food service team, an Ice Cream Parlor Attendant will report to the Ice Cream Parlor Manager. An Ice Cream Parlor Attendant will have a primary day-to-day responsibility to ensure superior guest service and the distribution of ice cream, baked goods, and fudge.

    Essential Functions

    • Prepares and serves ice cream, baked goods, and fudge for guests upon order.
    • Maintains back and front of house, keeping it clean and organized.
    • Wipes down counters and tables with the proper sanitation procedures throughout the day.
    • Attractively displays desserts to be served.
    • Handles and cuts fudge properly.
    • Inventories and restocks supplies.
    • Is available and able to assist guests.
    • Answers guest questions correctly and assist with managing complaints and resolving any issues guests may have.
    • Collects money from customers and maintains an accurate till.
    • Returns daily deposits accurately and consistently.
    • Follows proper opening and closing procedures, including cleaning at the end of the night.
    • Participates in workplace safety training sessions.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Line Cook

    Food & Beverage

    Summary/Objective 

    As a member of the food service team, a Line Cook will report to the Food and Beverage Director. A Line Cook will have a primary day-to-day responsibility to perform routine tasks necessary to prepare cold items, salads, and ingredients for more complex dishes.

     

    Essential Functions

    1. Cuts, weighs, or measures ingredients according to provided instructions.

    2. Prepares meat, seafood, and poultry for cooking by cutting or grinding, as instructed.

    3. Prepares vegetables to be used as condiments.

    4. Combines salad ingredients.

    5. Arranges prepared food on serving trays or in designated area for retrieval by serving staff.

    6. Follows the menu and maintains high food quality standards.

    7. Prevents the spoilage of ingredients through proper storage in designated containers and in designated areas.

    8. Monitors the temperature of food and food storage areas.

    9. Maintains and cleans salad bars and buffets.

    10. Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains cleanliness of work areas, surfaces, utensils, equipment, and dishes.

    11. Adheres to all food handling and safety regulations throughout the kitchen and restaurant.

    12. Follows proper opening and closing procedures.

    13. Serves food on the buffet line if applicable; replaces chaffing dishes as well as cold line food.

    14. Participates in weekly safety lessons.

    15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Reservation Center Specialist

    Lodging & Reservations

     Summary/Objective:

    As a member of the lodging team, a Reservation Center Specialist employee will report to the Reservation Manager. A Reservation Center Specialist will have primary day-to-day responsibility to provide        excellent customer service to guests calling to make reservations and to provide general information about Medora, the Medora Musical, and Bully Pulpit Golf Course.

     Essential Duties: 

    1. Is able to make reservations for motels, golf, and a number of other Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation (TRMF) events.
    2. Provides excellent customer service while answering and returning telephone calls to assist guests with reservations.
    3. Must work quickly and efficiently on computers with various software programs.
    4. Maintains knowledge of hotel policies including room rates, discounts, special offerings, and events.
    5. Must be able to speak and understand English at a native level.
    6. Participates in workplace safety training sessions.
    7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
