Medora is host to over 250,000 visitors from around the world annually. Many guests come back year after year, but for some, it is their first encounter with the Old West. Either way, we want them to have a great vacation experience with authentic western hospitality.

The Employee Experience

Medora offers a unique employee experience with planned activities ranging from volleyball tournaments, talent contests, international night, hikes in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and so much more. We want you to have a truly amazing experience both on the clock and off.

Medora is highly visited and we are busy! We need staff that are excited, hardworking and flexible. However, our most successful employees are those who want to enjoy the whole experience of working and playing in Medora. They not only work hard, but take in all of the free and discounted shows and activities Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation offers.

Our operating dates are from early/ mid-May until the end of September. We give preference to applicants who are able to work the entire season.

Room and Board

Employees will live in the Elkhorn Quarters located right across the street from the Life Skills Center, creating what we call an employee campus for employees and volunteers during the summer season.  Employee Housing is easily walkable to most work locations, a few locations that are a bit farther out will assist the employee with transportation to the work location if needed.

This building is also home to the Medora Musical Rehearsal Hall, the reservation center, and a training room for meetings and employee trainings. 

Meals

During the summer season, the employee cafeteria in the Life Skills Center is open. Meals are provided optionally at a cost of $7.00/meal. Deductions for meal charges are taken directly from the employee's paycheck. Employees will only be charged for meals actually purchased with their employee meal card.

You can check out Theodore Roosevelt National Park and see all of the wildlife that call the park home.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Medora is conveniently located 1 mile off of Interstate 94 in North Dakota.

Coordinate your travel plans with HR two weeks before your arrival. You can fly into Dickinson (30 miles) or Bismarck (120 miles) and get a shuttle ride to Medora. If you are driving...Google Maps will know where to find us.

Everything in Medora is conveniently located within walking distance or you can rent a bike. Shuttles go several times a week to Dickinson so you can get the essentials you need.

For Fun

Need a break from all those beautiful Badlands views?  The town offers great local shopping and dining options. Historic tours, live shows, museums, live music, and other activities are available for both the sunny and rainy days off.

Medora, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and the surrounding areas have endless activities to enjoy. Aside from over 150 miles of hiking and biking trails, miles of Little Missouri River to float, and tons of beautiful quiet spaces, there is always a way to getaway.
