    Food and Beverage

    Bartender

    $25.00 / hour + tips
    Philipsburg

    Primary Purpose of Position

     

    Our bartenders are responsible for the ambiance of all our bar spaces and are sometimes the most interactive employee for the guests during their stay.

     

    In this role, you will be responsible for taking orders, preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food to guests in an  enthusiastic and efficient manner. Our bar team maintains Forbes 5-star standards of service to ensure the best possible guest experience.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    1. Working knowledge of wine, specialty cocktails, classic cocktails, mocktails and all available selections of beer, liquor and wine within the resort.
    2. Create a warm and welcoming environment for guests, following standards set by the property, Forbes and Relais Chateaux.
    3. Quick, efficient and friendly service.
    4. Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiry.
    5. Comprehensive understanding  of state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
    6. Maintain knowledge of table numbers, room capacity, hours of operations, menus, and dress code of assigned outlet.
    7. Adherence with all departmental policies and service procedures.
    8. Completion of opening and closing duties and checklists.
    9. Ensure cleanliness and condition of bar and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
    10. Collaboration with Events department to execute special programming and Ranch activities.
    11. Assist with inventories, checklists and ordering guides.
    12. Have basic technical knowledge of Saloon and Theater entertainment equipment to be able to assist in the guest experience.
    13. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. 

    Education/Experience

     

    1. Minimum 2-years of experience as a bartender.
    2. Sommelier and/or Mixology Certification preferred.
    3. Certification in alcohol awareness program required.
    4. Ability to effectively communicate with both Guests and Ranch employees.
    5. Flexibility in schedule, location and daily tasks is essential to be successful in position.
    6. Valid driver’s license.

    Food and Beverage

    Server

    $20.00 / hour + tips
    Philipsburg

    Primary Purpose of Position
    This position must embrace our Core Values and incorporate them in the guests dining experience during their stay.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Provide a personalized experience for all guests; greeting them by name, making them feel welcome, showing awareness of dietary restrictions, aware of all guest BEOs
    2. Utilizing proper steps of service throughout dining experience.
    3. Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up of the restaurant/bar. 
    4. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu and beverage items, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation. 
    5. Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
    6. Comprehensive knowledge of POS system and manual systems.
    7. Complete all opening and closing duties as assigned.
    8. Review daily specials and maintain awareness of 86’d items throughout the shift.
    9. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service area.
    10. Communicate efficiently with the Kitchen staff, Events team and other departments.
    11. Work within a team to complete a successful service.

     

    Education/Experience

    1. 2 year experience as a fine dining server.
    2. Strong knowledge of wines, spirits and beers.
    3. Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers.
    4. Food Handlers Certification.
    5. High school graduate or equivalent and some college.
    6. Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
    7. Certification in alcohol awareness program.

    Skills/Requirements

    1. Anticipate and understand guest service needs.
    2. Keen attention to detail.
    3. Maintain good coordination and timing while serving orders quickly.
    4. Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
    5. Regularly lift and/or move up to 15 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
    6.  Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area.

    Kitchen

    Kitchen Steward

    Philipsburg
    • Maintains cleanliness standards consistent with current health department requirements ie dishwashing, mopping, sanitization of surfaces.
    • Maintains cleanliness and organization of all chemicals, cleaning equipment, and non-food items throughout kitchen facility.
    • Executes cleaning and sanitation of cooking equipment throughout kitchen as requested by Exec Chef, Exec Sous Chef, and Sous Chef.
    • Assists with basic food prep as well as plating assistance for banquets and special parties.
    • When required, participates in putting away of all food inventory.
    • Adheres to Ranch policies and procedures.
    • Performs duties as workload necessitates.
    • Maintains a positive and respectful attitude.
    • Communicates regularly and effectively with Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef/Sous Chef about departmental issues.
    • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
    • Consistently reports to work as required by daily and seasonal needs.
    • Meets departmental productivity standards.
    • Performs work in a safe and high quality manner.
    • Complies with laws, ordinances and regulations governing food preparation, service and disposal.


    Preferred Education/Experience

    • High School graduate or equivalent.
    • Some level of culinary education
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Knowledge of raw materials, food production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective production and services of prepared food.
    • Knowledge of relevant equipment as it pertains to procedures and operation of safe use.
    • Basic knowledge of the chemical composition, structure and properties of substances and the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo.  This primarily pertains to materials used for cleaning and sanitation.
    Housekeeping Department

    Room Attendant

    $15.00 - $16.00 / hour + tips
    Philipsburg

    Room Attendants are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of guest rooms and common areas following Forbes Five-Star guest standards at all time, which includes but not limited to making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming and replacing amenities. As a Room Attendant, your contribution helps ensure our guest have an enjoyable and comfortable stay here at The Ranch.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Clean guest rooms and common areas according to the Standard Operating Procedures and as assigned by supervisor.
    2. Monitor proper function of guest room appliances and repair of furniture and fixtures.
    3. Report any needed repairs to supervisor in timely manner.
    4. Assist with responsibilities and duties of laundry during need periods.
    5. Address guest concerns, requests and special requirements in a timely manner to housekeeping supervisor.
    6. Maintain rooms and common areas of the property.
    7. Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
    8. Keep storage areas tidy and communicate supply needs to Housekeeping Supervisor.
    9. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions.
    10. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and co-ordinations with other team members.

    Education/Experience

    1. High School Diploma or equivalent 
    2. Valid Driver’s License.
    3. At least 6 months of prior housekeeping or hospitality experience.

    Special Skills/Physical Demand

    1. Ability to use radio/pager and respond in a timely manner.
    2. Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and focus attention on details.
    3. Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of guest and company information.
    4. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
    5. Ability to lift and or move 15lbs and occasionally lift or move 30 lbs.
    6. Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area.
    Housekeeping

    Housekeeping Manager

    $59,000.00 - $60,000.00 / year
    Philipsburg

     

    The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all cleaning operations of the accommodations, lodge, public spaces and laundry facility within Forbes Five Star standards at all times.

     

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

     

    • Assisting in creation of budget and maintaining expenses to said budget
    • Scheduling all areas of division to ensure maximum productivity
    • Training standards in compliance to Ranch standards, Forbes Travel Guide, and Relais and Chateaux
    • Coaching and counseling staff members through progressive discipline tactics
    • Purchasing and maintaining inventory levels throughout all products within division

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

     

    • Knowledgeable of and able to perform all duties of housekeeping, laundry and public area roles.
    • Assist with responsibilities and duties of housekeeping and laundry services during need periods.
    • Address guest concerns, requests and special requirements in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Communicate guest concerns, requests and special requirements in a timely manner to appropriate departments.
    • Create, review & monitor staff schedules to ensure there is always sufficient coverage.
    • Stay within budget for any expenses and supplies.
    • Work with leadership to recruit, train, and supervise staff.
    • Perform counseling and coaching sessions with staff.
    • Confirm all staff members have arrived and document/find substitutes for any late or absent employees.
    • Confirm all staff members are dressed appropriately according to uniform policy
    • Prioritize workload appropriately based on staffing and occupancy.
    • Provides room availability information to Front Desk
    • Maintains rooms and common areas of the property by conducting visual inspections of furniture, walls, and floor coverings; taking or recommending needed actions to management.
    • Contributes to team effort by attending period staff meetings with other department supervisors; discussing company policies and patrons’ complaints; making recommendations to improve service and operations.
    • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
    • Keeps housekeeping supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
    • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; call for repairs.
    • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and co-ordination with other team members.
    •  Assist the Director of Housekeeping in managing property operations to maximize profitability and growth.

     

    Education/Experience

     

    • Minimum of three years supervisory experience in housekeeping/hospitality.  Minimum of one year manager experience.
    • Strong understanding of reservation software and housekeeping productivity standards preferred
    • Strong understanding of chemical safety, sanitation standards, and regulations to ensure a safe environment
    • Experience in recruitment and payroll systems
    • Ability to communicate with guests/employees to their understanding and to provide legible written communications and direction.
    • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations and follow budget guidelines.
    • Valid driver’s license.

     

    Special Skills/Physical Demand

     

    • Display a friendly, courteous and professional demeanor with guests, and other employees.
    • Ability to anticipate and understand guest inquiries, providing prompt response time.
    • Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and focus attention on details.
