Room and Board

Shared onsite staff housing is available at no cost. We also offer complimentary access to basic food provisions and a Staff Cook prepares lunch daily. Vegetarian and gluten-free choices are always provided. Employees are responsible for their own dinners and anything beyond what is provided. Kitchens are available for use either in the unit, or in a common area. We also offer free laundry facilities, wifi and a workout room. 

Company housing is shared and houses anywhere from 2-4 people depending on the structure. Pets are not allowed in staff housing. Those who wish to live off-site may find rentals in Philipsburg, MT.

Getting Here and Getting Around

All employees are encouraged to bring a vehicle, as it will allow you to explore the surrounding areas. Many employees enjoy walking or biking to and from work. We do offer weekly shuttle opportunities to explore neighboring towns. 

Missoula Montana Airport (MSO) is 87 miles from The Ranch. The Ranch provides complimentary transportation from Missoula which can be arranged in advance.

For Fun

The Ranch at Rock Creek staff enjoys Montana at its finest. There is exceptional access to hiking, camping, and backpacking in the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness. There are plenty of chances to try new hobbies, such as horseback riding, archery, ice skating or sapphire mining. Southwest Montana is an excellent place for budding photographers, who will see some of the most diverse wildlife in the United States.

In addition, staff members will find themselves steps away from Rock Creek, one of the world’s only Blue Ribbon trout streams. More fishing access is enjoyed on Flint Creek and Georgetown Lake. If you love to fly fish, there is almost no better place in the world to spend a season. Just 25 minutes away, Discovery Ski Area is an alpine skiing destination that becomes a mountain biking mecca in the summer.

    The Landscaper ensures the resort’s exterior grounds, gardens, and landscaping meet the highest standards of luxury and aesthetic appeal. This position is responsible for maintaining a pristine environment that enhances the guest experience through meticulous care of plant life, walkways, and outdoor amenities. The Landscaper’s duties are an essential part of ensuring the property meets the standards of our luxury guests as well as the expectations laid out for Forbes Five-Star properties and members of Relais & Chateaux.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintains all lawn areas including mowing, trimming, edging, and fertilizing to ensure a manicured appearance.

    • Cultivates and cares for flower beds, shrubs, and trees including planting, pruning, watering, and weeding.

    • Identifies and treats plant diseases and insect infestations using appropriate and safe methods.

    • Ensures all pathways, driveways, and parking areas are free of debris, leaves, and trash.

    • Operates and maintains landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems.

    • Monitors the irrigation schedule to ensure optimal water conservation and plant health.

    • Assists with the setup and breakdown of outdoor events, ensuring the grounds are prepared for guest usage.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE

    The Barback is responsible for delivering exceptional performance in their role, embodying Ranch core values, and upholding the standards set for Forbes Five-Star properties and members of Relais & Chateaux. This role allows the Bartenders to focus 100% of their attention on delivering expertly crafted beverages and outstanding bar service, contributing directly to the property’s reputation for excellence. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with opening and closing duties including restocking the bar & ensuring the Bartenders consistently have plenty of clean, polished glassware.

    • Manage preparation and storage of ingredients for the bar areas including juices, syrups, garnish fruits, batches, and infusions.

    • Aid the Bartenders in maintaining a clean and organized bar area, adhering to all sanitation and safety guidelines.

    • Monitor inventory and maintain organization of products in backstock, alerting management when replacements are necessary.

    • Maintain awareness of current cocktail offerings; be able to answer guest questions when necessary.

    • Maintain a guest-facing appearance; interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner when appropriate.

    • Bus the Bar and Saloon areas, wiping tables and cleaning up spills when necessary.

    • Remove and dispose of bags from trash receptacles in and around the Bar and Saloon areas.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    •  Welcomes spa guests with warmth and professionalism, providing clear communication about spa amenities, services, and expectations.

    • Assists with spa reception duties including answering phones, scheduling appointments, guest check-in and checkout, retail sales, and processing payments.

    • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all spa spaces including relaxation areas, locker rooms, restrooms, treatment rooms, and back-of-house areas.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.              

    • Valid, current driver’s license required.

    • Previous experience in a similar capacity (luxury guiding, outdoor education, or high-end hospitality) is highly preferred.

    • Proven competency in several of the following: fly fishing, shooting sports, mountain biking, or winter sports.

    • Current CPR/ First Aid certification required.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE

    The Director of Food & Beverage oversees all aspects of the Ranch’s Food & Beverage division to ensure exceptional guest experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance. This role is responsible for leading departmental managers, achieving revenue and cost objectives, and ensuring that service, quality, and compliance meet the standards of our luxury guests as well as those set for Forbes Five-Star properties and members of Relais & Chateaux.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides strategic direction and operational leadership across all F&B outlets including dining locations, bars, banquets/events, and in-room dining.

    • Develops and manages departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial performance (revenue, cost of sales, labor, and expenses).

    • Oversees menu development in collaboration with the Executive Chef; ensures creativity, quality, and profitability.

    • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and liquor regulations.

    • Approves purchasing, invoices, and inventory processes to maintain cost control and operational efficiency.

    • Recruits, trains, coaches, and evaluates management staff to promote a high-performing and engaged team culture.

    • Monitors guest satisfaction through direct interaction, feedback channels, and service recovery when needed.

    • Implements and maintains standards of cleanliness, service, and presentation throughout F&B outlets.

    • Leads regular departmental meetings and collaborates with other Ranch leaders to achieve organizational goals.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Food & Beverage management.

    The Driver/Bellman works closely with the Front Desk staff to provide a world-class first and last impression to guests when they arrive and depart the Ranch.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Stays up to date on Daily arrivals/departures, in-house count, and special guest requests.

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assists with the responsibilities and duties of housekeeping and laundry. 

    • Addresses guest concerns, requests and special requirements in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction; communicates with other departments when appropriate.

The Ranch Hand plays a critical support role in ensuring smooth ranch operations while upholding the Ranch’s standards of professionalism, safety, and guest awareness.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with daily cattle operations including moving, sorting, feeding, doctoring support, and general herd care as directed.

    • Support pasture rotation, irrigation efforts, and land management projects.

    • Install, move, monitor, and maintain hand line irrigation systems to ensure efficient water delivery and pasture health.
