Recently Voted the #1 National Park Lodge by Readers Choice, we run a well renowned, high-volume, fine dining restaurant, two retail outlets, and an Inn with 51 rooms. We are looking for a staff that can carry out our vision, that every guest and employee leave with a positive memory or experience.

The breathtaking views that encompass 4 surrounding cities are without a doubt what attracts most of our guests. However, the heart of Pisgah is what draws them in for life long visitation. 20 minutes from the surrounding towns of Asheville, Candler, Waynesville and Brevard. Just minutes from hikes and gorgeous waterfalls.

About The Pisgah Inn

The Pisgah Inn is a one-of-a-kind experience. The view at the Peak of the Blue Ridge Parkway outside of Asheville, NC, maybe what draws many of our employees in, but it is the experience of Pisgah that keeps them returning season after season. With employee housing available on-site, it makes for a beautiful short walk to work. Our world-renowned restaurant fills daily with guests from surrounding cities, as well as our in-house guests that have traveled and have the luxury of staying in one of our fifty-one rooms. The bikers that stop in at our country store know it like it is home. Once you become a part of Pisgah, you'll never let go.

Room and Board

We have employee housing that is set up suite style. A bathroom is shared by two rooms, which each consist of two employees. All of your room and board expenses are covered for $189/bi-weekly.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Transportation is not needed to get around our property, as a short walk will get you to any point. However, you are welcome to bring and park your vehicles at no charge. Having your own transportation is ideal, as public transportation does not travel up the mountain from any of the surrounding towns. Asheville International Airport is just 30 minutes from our location on the Parkway.

    Cook

    The Cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production procedures.  Ensures appropriate use of supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud.
     

    Major Responsibilities

    • Cook and prepare a variety of foods following our recipes and specifications
    • Follow all kitchen safety and sanitation policies & procedures
    • Adhere to plate presentation guidelines / sells food on time
    • Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen
    • Exhibit teamwork with other employees / calls & call backs
    • Communicate clearly with other BOH personnel, FOH, and managers
    • Stock & breaks down section at beginning and end of shifts
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with other employees
    • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or requested
       

    Requirements

    • Attention to detail and sanitation rules
    • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Hands-on experience with professional kitchen equipment
    • Good knowledge of food plating techniques

    Housekeeper

    Performs cleaning duties in all guest areas, guest and employee restrooms. Consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service. Ensures housekeeping departmental standards are followed. Responds timely to guests' special requests for miscellaneous items like cribs, cots, extra towels, etc.
     

    Major Responsibilities

    • Clean and tidy up hotel rooms, walkways, employee restrooms, public restrooms.
    • Dust and polish various surfaces and furniture
    • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
    • Empty trash bins
    • Change linens and towels and replace toiletries
    • Collaborate with the housekeeping team to complete the daily cleaning schedule
    • Restock cleaning supplies in the hand cart
    • Report any issues that require maintenance

     

    Requirements

    • Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies
    • Able to lift upwards of 25 pounds
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Able to follow instructions
    • Time-management skills

    Housekeeping Manager

    The primary responsibilities of the Housekeeping Manager position is to manage and lead the Housekeepers and Laundry Attendants ensuring that all rooms are cleaned per standards.


    Major Responsibilities

    • Planning, direction, coordination and execution of all activities and personnel within the housekeeping and laundry department
    • Lead a team of Housekeepers
    • Ensuring that all housekeeping activities are carried out professionally, to standards and at the highest level of service
    • Achieve desired outcomes through the creation, development and maintenance of a competent, motivated and empowered staff
    • Effectively lead, train, coach, motivate, engage, and provide feedback to the housekeeping staff daily
    • Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards
    • Plan and prepare employee work schedules
    • Perform or assist with cleaning duties as necessary
    • Investigate complaints about service and take corrective action
    • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner
    • Check equipment to ensure that it is in working order
    • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required
    • Select the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of linens, furniture, flooring, and surfaces
    • Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, and the use and maintenance of equipment
    • Order and purchase equipment and supplies and issue supplies and equipment to workers
    • Forecast necessary levels of staffing and stock at different times, in order to facilitate effective scheduling and ordering
    • Evaluate employee performance, and recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and dismissals
    • Confer with staff in order to resolve performance and personnel problems, and to discuss company policies
    • Establish and implement operational standards and procedures for the department
    • Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment
    • Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency
    • Communicate clearly with all departments.
    • Be proficient with Jonas Chorum on tablet to update room status.
       

    Requirements

    • Experience with housekeeping management preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge and experience with hotel housekeeping required.
    • A strong commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.
    • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, and ability to multitask.
    • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

    Pantry Cook

    The Pantry is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production procedures.  Ensures appropriate use of supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Prepare a variety of foods following our recipes and specifications.
    • Make salads.
    • Prepare desserts.
    • Prepare vinaigrettes, dips and herb-infused oils.
    • Perform meal-prep activities like chopping vegetables, cutting fish and meat and washing fruits.
    • Store ingredients to keep them fresh and reduce food wastage.
    • Check food plating, temperature and portions for all cold dishes.
    • Sterilize kitchen equipment at the end of your shift.
    • Monitor stock and place orders, as needed.
    • Maintain a clean station at all times.
    • Monitor proper rotation of prepped and batched food items.
    • Follow all kitchen safety and sanitation policies & procedures.
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with other employees.
    • Assist periodically with preparing food to order on the cooks line.
    • Operate equipment in a safe manner.
    • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or requested.

    Server

    Meet and welcome guests, take drinks orders, provide menus and ensure that all their needs are met. Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills use your initiative to meet customers' high expectations.
     

    Major Responsibilities

    • Greet all tables with a warm smile and a sincere welcome
    • Take food and drink orders from guests accurately and with a positive attitude.
    • Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
    • Engage with guests in a friendly manner.
    • Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
    • Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
    • Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
    • Maintain professional appearance as per handbook, including proper handwashing
    • Accurately take guest orders and enter into POS in a timely manner
    • Possess proficient knowledge of our food menu, specials, and drink menu
    • Pre-bus all tables
    • Follow all steps of service
    • Practice safe alcohol service and proper wine service
    • Collect payment from guests
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with other employees
    • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or requested
    • Alert manager to any issues

    • Ability to take and follow instructions in both written and verbal form
    • Basic assessment and math skills to estimate wait times
