Job Summary:
The Electrician will install and maintain the electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in buildings.

Duties/Responsibilities:- Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings.
- Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
- Ensures piping complies with electrical codes.
- Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
- Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.
- Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
- Replaces circuit breakers as needed.

The maintenance staff will help maintain overall cleanliness and maintenance of the port. Your duties will include maintenance and upkeep of all projects necessary to keep the entire site operation looking its very best. Position is non-exempt, hourly DOE.

Job Summary:
The Janitorial Staff performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout the Welcome Center, M/V Malaspina and grounds.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Cleans, disinfects and replenish supplies in restroom, kitchen and common areas;
- Vacuums, sweeps and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes;
- Remove waste and empty trash and cigarette receptacles;
- Wipes and dusts surfaces and cleans mirrors and windows;
- Loads washers and dryers and folds sheets and towels in laundry room;
- Stocks linens, towels, washcloths, and hand towels;
- Maintain cleaning chart indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected;
- Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies;
- Organize janitorial storage areas;
- Make sure all doors, windows, entrances and exits are securely closed and locked in evening;
- Notifies Housing Manager if something is not working properly;

The Night Watch is responsible for the security and safety of the M/V Malaspina and terminal facilities during the night.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide security watch over the vessel and terminal facility in compliance with both the Vessel and Facility Security Plans during night watch hours and also maintain the No Visitor Policy.

Maintaining a vigilant watch over the safety of the vessel by conducting frequent rounds in spaces where flooding, fire or other situations could be detrimental to the vessel.

Tend and adjust mooring lines as needed and monitor the transfer bridge and apron for tidal changes and weather conditions.

Maintain safe conditions in all areas that guest and crew related traffic occurs including transfer bridge, access ramps, vessel interior and exterior decks and areas surrounding the terminal as needed throughout the night watch hours.

Assist with any maintenance duties during night watch including but not limited to: maintenance and/or repair to machinery and auxiliary equipment, stocking supplies, cleaning, weekly inventory reporting and any other duties he or she may need help with.

This position includes a retention bonus of $5 per hour, paid at the end of the contract, for a total wage of $30 per hour. The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of guests between Ward Cove and downtown Ketchikan through the Tongass National Forest. Guest Service Representatives will be cross trained on a variety of responsibilities to assist every department at The Mill at Ward Cove. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting guests boarding shuttle buses, drive an ADA van, outfit guests for tours, docent at the museum, lead gold panning demonstrations, run a cash register, sell tours, and provide information to guests about The Mill at Ward Cove and downtown Ketchikan.
Duties/Responsibilities:

The Mechanic will inspect, service, and maintain a diesel and gas-powered vehicle fleet. As a lead mechanic, this position is responsible for inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance on the fleet to keep them operating safely. Knowledge of small engine and outboard motor maintenance a plus.

Port Security Staff lead the charge in safety and security for the facilities and guests at The Mill at Ward Cove port facility working in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations and Ward Cove Dock Group’s Facility Security Plan (FSP) to provide quality service to our guests and locals. Position is non-exempt, hourly DOE.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for patrolling restricted and non-restricted areas on the Ward Cove dock, facilities, and property, reporting any breach of security to appropriate personnel;
- Ensures embarking is controlled. Responsible for vehicle and traffic control accessing the dock;
- Understands and implements various Maritime Security (MARSEC) Level changes and implements required port enforcement action;
- Work with USCG, local authorities, and cruise lines in maintaining safety and guest satisfaction;
- Provides vehicle and pedestrian traffic control duties to ensure safe passage for port related pedestrian and vehicular traffic;
- Ensures vehicles entering the property and dock have the proper identification/pass;
- When required, places or moves pedestrian control devices and barricades;

Tour Sales Representatives promote and sell pier-side tickets/vouchers to cruise guests and non-cruise guests for all excursions offered by The Mill at Ward Cove. Tour Sales Representatives will ensure guests meet the required excursion requirements, confirm guests sign excursion waivers as required, announce excursion departures over the PA system, and keep accurate records of excursion inventory and departure times. The Tour Sales Representative will be knowledgeable about all excursions, shuttles, independent tour operators, and be an excellent source of information about the area.
