  • Lift Operations Manager

    Lift Operations

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Assist in assuring the operation of the lifts in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board (CPTSB), United States Forest Service, American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), TSG Ski & Golf “Telski” Liability Insurance policy and Telski’s company policies and procedures.
    • Provide daily supervision, delegation, and motivation of lift operators, lead, foreman, dispatch, and supervisor positions. Ensure staff is following all dept procedures, while providing a high level of service and work ethic.
    • Monitor daily performance and appearance of staff. Address any disciplinary issues immediately.
    • Monitor lift area set-up, signage, and snow work on a regular basis and make changes when needed. Coordinate with supervisors and other departments regarding lift area needs.
    • Responsible for the hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, and development of all lift operations staff.
    • Develop training and orientation program and administer to all staff.
    • Develop and maintain departmental standards for operating lifts, station grooming, and safety practices.
    • Ensures that daily lift inspections, safety checks and logs are properly completed.
    • Develop budgets, business plan, and long/short term planning for Lift Operations Department.
    • Oversee all lift operations administrative duties such as scheduling, lift logs, personnel records, incident and accident reports, emails etc. Ensure these records are properly filled out, organized, and archived.
    • Develop, implement, and complete projects on time and within approved budget.
    • Identify and submit all capital proposals
    • Coordinate with lift maintenance to ensure proper care and operation of lifts.
    • Attend all Resort Operations and Manager/Director meetings
    • Monitor all departmental supply needs and order new supplies when needed.
    • Familiar with daily snow and grooming report.
    • Address any issues from guests or other departments in a timely and professional manner.
    • Facilitate payroll functions for staff by maintaining daily time records in Kronos
    • Provide a high level of guest service and guest interaction.
    • Adhere to all TSG policies and procedures listed in the employee handbook.
    • Understand and apply the Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:        

    Manage 2 Assistant Managers, 5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 90 employees in the Lift Operation Department and 2 Dispatchers. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Mathematical Skills:                   

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability:                   

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Computer Skills:                   

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and Kronos software.

    Other Qualifications:

    • Must have experience with all lifts at Telluride Ski Resort.
    • Must be able to use two way radio dispatch system.
    • Mechanically inclined, not afraid of heights.
    • Intermediate or above ski or boarder.
    • Ability to operate a snowmobile

  • Cosmetologist

    Summary: The Cosmetologist is responsible for providing quality, professional service in the administration manicures and pedicures.

    • Exfoliating and removing rough skin from the hands and feet
    • Cutting, cleaning, buffing and shining nails

  • Engineering Supervisor - NIGHT SHIFT

    Summary: The Peaks Night Shift Engineering Supervisor reports to the Assistant Director of Engineering and assists with or is directed to accomplish, a variety of tasks on a daily basis that will include, but is not limited to specific tasks.

    Please note the hours for this position are 3:00PM-11:30PM - NIGHT SHIFT.

  • Assistant Director of Engineering

    Summary: The Peaks Engineering Assistant Director reports to The Peaks Director of Engineering and assists with or is directed to accomplish, a variety of tasks on a daily basis that will include, but is not limited to specific tasks.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Assists in the develop, implementation, records and ensure that all crew members are trained as needed in all areas of general safety, specific safety, general trainings and departmental trainings maintains and reports status to Director of Engineering on a weekly basis.
    • Recommends safety planning and training based on changes or potential concerns brought by changes in Jobs or changes in safety protocol.
    • Assists in the development of building repair lists and plans for repairs based on budgeting constraints and urgency of need.
    • Attends manager level meetings with Director of Engineering and or in place of the Director as needed.
    • Develops and maintains all records, maps, photos and documents of buildings and projects physically and electronically.
    • Assures that the Crew Supervisor is repairing and constructing projects based on design and budget parameters and reports on any discrepancies to the Director.
    • Maintains Kronos based on budgeting for capital projects.

  • Lift Maintenance Electrician

    Summary: Assists in repairing and maintaining lifts and assures the operation and safety of all lifts in accordance with applicable rules and regulations of TSG, The Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board, United States Forest Service, American Standards Institute, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Employee will work primarily under direct supervision and must be willing to work long shifts, weekends and holidays. Follows company policies, procedures, and safety practices.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Posses basic electrical knowledge, voltage, current, using a meter, etc.
    • Maintain all work spaces in a clean/professional fashion.  No project is complete until the mess has been cleaned up.  Keep lift shacks clean and organized, and ALL trash SHALL be removed from lift shacks EVERY DAY.
    • Possess basic knowledge of low voltage control systems, relays, PLC's, and troubleshooting
    • Basic knowledge of motors and motor controllers
    • Begin to learn about the various different styles of control systems present on this mountain, and how to navigate the schematics and troubleshoot each one
    • Begin study of Pilz fault codes and other nuances of the Doppelmayr control systems
    • Under the supervision of a Level III Electrician, install, maintain, and repair commline and tower circuits
    • Repair terminal and lift shack heaters

  • Lift Maintenance Mechanic - Level II

    Summary: Assures the operation and safety of all lifts in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations of The Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board, United States Forest Service, American National Standards Institute, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.  This is a journey level position and employee will be working under supervision.  The employee may lead a team in a predictive and/or discovery project.     • Perform all tasks included in the Lift Mechanic I position

    • Perform routine and predictive maintenance and inspections on motor rooms, line equipment, and other ski lift components
