Essential Job Responsibilities:

Must be able to coach, teach, and guide guests that have a variety of ranges, including age, ability, discipline, and experience.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

Must be 18 years of age.
Able to instruct group, private, and special program lessons of varying abilities and ages as assigned.
Instruct students of any age, sex, and learning abilities as assigned.
Must physically, clearly, and accurately demonstrate a skiing/snowboarding model at a minimum intermediate level.
Must be comfortable wearing ski boots or snowboard boots for extended periods of time.
Must be able to share the information and emotions that inspire the guest to return to Taos and the Snowsports School.
Supply personal equipment and maintain it in safe, functional, and attractive conditions.
Understands and adheres to the Responsibility Code and Skier Safety Act.
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays (including Christmas), and evenings.

Criteria for Evaluations:
The Snowsports Instructor is evaluated on performance of duties and take into account a variety of factors some examples are: teaching ability, communication skill, level of guest service, attitude, attendance and punctuality, attire and grooming, initiative, guest comments, student return rate, skiing/riding ability and improvement, technical knowledge, relations with co-workers, and have professionalism, mature and logically sound judgement.

Skill Level I – Non-certified instructor and/or has little to no experience in teaching, guiding, coaching roles

Skill Level II – PSIA/AASI Level I certification and/or equivalent teaching, guiding, coaching experience and/or relevant recreation or education certifications. Qualified intermediate skiing/riding ability.

Skill Level III – Current PSIA/AASI Level II certification and/or equivalent teaching, guiding, coaching experience and/or relevant recreation or education certifications. 2+ years teaching within the snowsports industry. Qualified intermediate skiing/riding ability. Must be able to demonstrate and articulate the skiing/snowboarding model at most levels of skiing/riding physically, clearly, and accurately.

Skill Level IV – Current PSIA/AASI Level III certification and 5+ years teaching within the snowsports industry. Qualified expert skiing/riding ability. Must be able to demonstrate and articulate the skiing/snowboarding model at all levels of skiing/riding physically, clearly, and accurately.

Skill Level V – Current PSIA/AASI Trainers certification and 10+ years teaching within the snowsports industry. Qualified expert skiing/riding ability. Must be able to demonstrate and articulate the skiing/snowboarding model at all levels of skiing/riding physically, clearly, and accurately. Work Environment:

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is in a high-altitude alpine environment. Employees must be prepared to ski, ride, and stand outside for their shift (4-5.5 hours) in changing and potentially extreme weather conditions. Must be able to ski or snowboard proficiently. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

Instructor/Employee has ability to teach skiing or snowboarding while safely navigating the Ski Area in a professional and exemplary manner.
Instructors must be able to ski, ride, walk, kneel, crawl, carry, reach, stand, stoop, squat and lift equipment or students up to 50lbs while actively teaching and coaching students for the duration of the lesson to complete all daily job duties.
Instructor/Employee must assist and lift students onto and off chairlifts.

Spa

Spa and Wellness Manager

Taos Ski Valley

The Spa Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility. The Spa Manager will ensure the Spa runs as expected by overseeing and supervising appointments and activities that may occur at the spa. The Spa Manager provides coverage and supervision for spa reception area, fitness center and pool area, oversees the service providers in the absence of the Lead Therapist and is responsible for relaying maintenance and housekeeping requests to the proper staff. The Spa Manager will oversee staff training, and act as the liaison to other revenue centers on property. The Spa Manager uses strong leadership to motivate staff to achieve goals and exceed guest expectations.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Execute events from start to finish when necessary and with support from Catering Operations Manager.
Lead a Banquet Team and communicate with clients in a productive, professional, and personable fashion.
Plans, Coordinates and Produces all internal events. Also assists with planning, coordinating and producing F&B components of public facing events.
Tracks and communicates costs associated with producing above events.
Assists the Catering Operation Manager with managing labor.

Mountain Operations

Base Area Maintenance

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Operate company vehicles and equipment, including 4WD trucks, UTVs, and street sweepers (training provided).
Establish and maintain landscaping in public spaces, with the possibility of additional landscaping areas as needed.
Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of outdoor public spaces, including but not limited to scrubbing stains, sweeping, organizing furniture, and maintaining trash and recycling receptacles.
Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance of buildings, including vacuuming, sweeping, shampooing carpets, and washing windows and doors.
Remove snow and maintain walkways using shovels, snow blowers, de-icing agents, sand and gravel (during winter months). May be expected to operate heavy equipment with proper training.

Parking Lot Shuttle Driver

Our “Parking Shuttle Drivers” operate our parking lot shuttles which are a combination of generally a one ton flat bed truck with a goose-neck open air shuttle trailer between 30 and 40 feet in length. Parking lot travel speeds are generally between 5 and 10 miles per hour at most. Shuttle drivers pick up a mixture of guests and employees depending upon time of day and assignments. Drivers service up to eight parking areas. Drivers are also often called upon to assist with other parking department tasks such as parking vehicles, controlling the pickup and drop off area, providing breaks or snow removal. Parking Shuttle Drivers are tasked with getting our guests to the mountain in a safe, welcoming, friendly, informative and efficient manner. Each shuttle is equipped with a public address system to inform guests about the lots that they’ve been picked up from, parking shuttle operating times, mountain conditions and locations for ticket acquisitions.

Work Environment:

The Parking Department is an outdoor team. It’s also a physical team, remaining on foot or engaged in other physical activities for much of any work day. Appropriate bathroom, snack, warm up breaks and lunch breaks are of course a must to the team’s long term function.

The parking shuttle environment can obviously be challenging for a number of reasons. First, we operate in a high alpine winter environment which includes snow and ice. Parking shuttle trucks are equipped with four wheel drive, trailer braking systems, and snow chains when applicable. Parking shuttle speeds are generally kept within the 10 mile per hour speed limit for the parking lots. Training will be provided for the backing of shuttle trailers which can be a challenge.

Parking Shuttle Drivers are often the most appreciated Parking Department personnel especially at the end of the day for our guests. There are lots of “thank you’s” and smiles.

The Parking Department is an outdoor team. It’s also a physical team, remaining on foot or engaged in other physical activities for much of any work day. Appropriate bathroom, snack, warmup breaks, and lunch breaks are of course a must to the team’s long-term function.

Parking Attendant duties can sometimes be completed during slow times just before noon. During peak operations, parking attendant duties may carry on into the late afternoon. Once daily parking attendant operations are complete, part-time attendants are encouraged to clock out and enjoy the on-mountain skiing and riding activities.

The Reservations Agent plays a key role in the success of the Central Reservations Department and the overall experience of visitors to Taos Ski Valley. Resort Ambassadors provide our guests, both internal and external, with the most enjoyable experience possible. As a Resort Ambassador, you may be the first point of contact for guests when they come to Taos Ski Valley, and your responsibility is to learn and accurately provide information about our offerings, Taos Ski Valley, Taos, and our surrounding areas.

Within the Resort Ambassador department, there are three roles that overlap in supporting guests, but they have distinct primary responsibilities:

Greeter (Ambassador 1) – Focused on hospitality, information, and guest assistance. This role is designed for part-time and peak seasonal staff to provide guest support during high-volume periods.
Access Controller (Ambassador 2) – Focused on ensuring that only authorized guests access lifts and that operations remain safe and orderly. Places greater emphasis on enforcing resort policies and operating access control systems. This role is primarily reserved for full-time seasonal staff.
Sales Ambassador (Ambassador 3) – Performs all the responsibilities of Ambassador 1 and Ambassador 2 while also providing ticket and season pass sales and related guest services. This role assists guests with purchasing, renewing, and managing lift tickets and season passes, answers questions about products and pricing, and helps maximize guest satisfaction and resort revenue. Ambassador 3 staff are cross-trained to support hospitality, access control, and sales operations, allowing them to be deployed wherever operational needs are greatest. This role is typically reserved for experienced full-time seasonal staff.

Able to stand for long periods, which can be for as long as 6-7 hours, sometimes in ski boots; to walk up and down steep, in deep snow, and/or slippery grades; to lift fallen skiers and to carry materials such as bamboo poles, ski equipment, maze panels, etc.
Within a team environment staff must possess both the physical ability and willingness to shovel snow for up to 4 hours in a day, rake snow up to 8 hours in a day, carry/move up to 30 maze panels twice per day, move up to 10 ski racks twice per day, and as needed able to solely swing RFID gantry 90 degrees to open and closed positions.
Must demonstrate a willingness and ability to converse freely with our guests.
Able to operate electronic equipment such as Lane Control Monitoring tablets and ticket scanners to verify lift tickets, season passes, RFID media, or other credentials.
Ability to quickly review gate scans and guest profile information for fraud mitigation and to prevent unauthorized lift access.
Serving as an RFID Access Controller, Maze Controller, or Usher to maintain efficient and safe loading areas.

Assist guests with pre-purchased ticket orders via TSV’s online platforms and phone reservation systems.

The Spa Receptionist/Attendant position requires you to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally group lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires you to be able to talk, hear, smell, stand, and walk 40% of the time and to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend 10% of the time.

This position will require you to clean floors, surfaces, and spa machinery and tools like hot stones, hot packs, hot towel cabinets, and electric treatment tables. You will occasionally be asked to stock and touch a variety of skincare products. You will spend about 50% of the job on the computer and cellular phone navigating scheduling software, point-of-sale, and Microsoft Suites.

The staff shuttle driver is responsible for the daily operation of the employee shuttle program including transporting 25+ passengers per trip, inspecting vehicles, cleaning and maintaining vehicles, and helping employees and guests access recreation, lodging, and work. They will report to the Transportation Manager through the supervisor with vehicle logs, inspection reports, and schedules.

Drivers are expected to transport fellow employees promptly and safely regardless of conditions.
