    The Food & Beverage Business Administration Manager works with the Director of Catering, Director of Convention Services, Director of Restaurants, and Executive Director of Food & Beverage on the daily administration operations of the F&B Department.     A Sun Valley H-2B Mountain Laborer II will be an important part of the Sun Valley mountain operations, with duties including pre-season snowmaking, snowcat grooming, and vehicle maintenance at both Sun Valley's Bald and Dollar Mountains. This position requires at least 12 months of manual labor experience required in a professional environment. Mountain Laborers should have experience in either snowmaking or snowcat grooming.

    Duties & Responsibilities: 

    • Pre-season duties include snowmaking, vehicle maintenance, checking assigned snowcats for mechanical defaults before and after operation
    • Complete work orders on mechanical defaults found and submit them to snowcat mechanics
    • Maintain ski lift ramps
    • Attend all meetings and ensure projects addressed are completed
    • Operate and monitor snow guns remotely via computer at headquarters while addressing snow gun pipe repairs, operating pumps, fans, and compressors remotely or manually
    • Remove snow either manually, with a snow blower, or plow
    • Safely travel via snowmobile, snowcat, snowboard or ski
    • Follow daily plans and instructions to ensure targets and goals are met
    • Build, maintain, and groom terrain parks
    • Perform winching operations
    • Meet with coworkers before leaving the base of the mountain to determine route and technique (individual or fleet grooming)

    A Snowmaking Electrician will learn to install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic equipment and components of industrial machinery and systems by performing installation, maintenance, and repair as described below under the supervision of a Snowmaking Supervisor and Mountain Electrical Supervisor. This position is also expected to be part of the snowmaking process. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday.  Example shifts: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 4:00 pm – 12:00 am or 12:00 am – 8:00 am. Shift hours may vary.

     Duties & Responsibilities:   

    • Install power and control wiring and conduit for newly installed machinery and equipment. 
    • Operate, maintain, clean and relocate snowmaking and adjunct equipment as directed safely, consistent with Sun Valley Company procedures.
    • Connect power and control wiring to machines and equipment. Connect cables and wires between machines and equipment. 
    • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures. Replace damaged or broken wiring and cables. Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. 
    • Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with snowmakers and mountain electricians to diagnose malfunctions. 
    • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
    • Plan wiring layout and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. 
    • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. 
    • Work under adverse weather conditions to complete tasks, especially when electrical equipment is out of service due to failure. 
    • Participate in proper safety classes, including Fall Arrest, Lock-out tag-out procedures and other related safety topics. 
    • Perform preventative electrical maintenance, snowmaking machine room maintenance, and pneumatic control maintenance.

      Qualifications:    

    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. 
    • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
