  • Hotel Laundry Attendant - Summer Seasonal - Full Time

    The Steamboat Grand is looking for a Full-Time Laundry Attendant for their winter operations. Previous experience with housekeeping preferred.

    Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
    • Clean dryer filters
    • Sweep and mop laundry area
    • Wash, dry, and fold terry and spa linen
    • Check chemical levels and replace as needed
    • Follow established health and safety procedures for using laundry chemicals
    • Responsible for laundry checklist completed daily
    • Attend team meetings, as required
    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
    • Other duties, as assigned

    Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:
    • Previous housekeeping experience in lodging or similar experience preferred
    • Adhere to all safety policies
    • Must stay on task and organized
    • Safely meet or exceed housekeeping cleaning standards
    • Smile and greet guests in a consistent and friendly manner
    • Maintain a friendly, cooperative and productive work environment
    • Must have time management and organization skills

    The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for overseeing the work of the Housekeeping Attendants and ensuring it is done properly. The Inspector is required to have previous housekeeping experience so they can effectively evaluate the work. Please note: Applicants without previous housekeeping experience will not be considered.

    Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
    • Observe and be a role model of the standards of the Housekeeping department and Company
    • Inspection of arrivals, turnovers, departures, return from out of order, pickups, and ready rooms
    • Report training issues of the housekeepers to supervisors to insure quality work
    • Replace inventory in units as needed
    • Be consistent in checking and presentation of each unit
    • Responsible for making sure your hallway(s) are cleaned daily by persons assigned to job
    • Report all maintenance issues promptly and log for reference
    • Report carpet stains for cleaning, clip carpet snags as required
    • Complete TOTAL inventory of units, done twice a year
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Minimum skills, experience, and education required for this job:
    • Previous lodging housekeeping experience required
    • Good knowledge and skills in routine housekeeping
    • Good basic organizational skills and ability to direct and coordinate the work of others
    • Adhere to all safety policies
    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards

    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    Housepersons needed! We are looking for individuals who can work independently and help out the Housekeeping Team. If you like to work alone with minimal supervision and indoors, this job is a great fit for you!

    • Maintain cleanliness of hallways by removal of soiled linens and trash
    • Train new houseperson on multiple houseperson duties
    • Delivery of cribs or rollaways to guest rooms upon request

    • Responsible for stocking of all closets and housekeeping carts
    • Deliver dirty linens to laundry room
    • Clean and vacuum assigned area

    • Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Shop Manager at Steamboat Apparel and Gifts, Marmot and The North Face stores
    • Work schedule front line shifts, ringing up retail sales, keep store(s) stocked with products, merchandising, maintain the highest level of product knowledge
    • Identify and supervise staff on equipment or facility maintenance projects
    • Staff management including training, team building, coaching, and disciplinary action
    • Ability to work under stressful situations while maintaining good customer relations
    • Communicate directly and appropriately with guests regarding any issues and concerns that arise
    • Maintaining proper inventory levels for expected guest volume in conjunction with all other shops
    • Under direction of the Store Manager, administer budget and financial decisions concerning labor and expenses to meet operating budgets

    Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:
    • 1-year experience in a retail shop, preferably a ski or sport shop required
    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • 1 year guest service experience
    • Cash handling experience required
    • Must feel comfortable using information systems including sales programs and Microsoft Office programs
    • Exceptional people and language skills
    • Prompt, accurate and professional judgment in a fast-paced environment
    • Mathematical skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percents
    • Must maintain a professional and well-respected rental-retail operation
    • Must possess guest service skills to ensure that quality and consistent customer service standards are met

    The Overnight Security position will be working from 11pm-7am and will be responsible for all hourly security checks of all Steamboat Ski & Resort Co., properties.  Must have previous overnight experience with previous security experience preferred.

    • Will be in company vehicle (trucks and snowmobile) 50% of time in varying terrain and conditions
    • Responsible for hourly security checks of all Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation properties
    • Respond to fire and or burglar alarms as necessary
    • Deal with guests and other individuals under varying circumstances
    • May be required to transport guests in shuttle van
    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Previous security experience preferred
    • Must have previous employment experience of working an overnight/graveyard shift
    • Must be self-motivated to work partially unsupervised during graveyard shift (11pm-7am)

    The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

    Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour
