    POSITION SUMMARY

    Steamboat Ski & Resort Co. is looking for both certified and non-certified SnowSports School ski instructors for the 2024-25 winter season. If you want to give world-class guest service on our Champagne Powder® snow, please apply today! Resume required. Required holiday dates: Dec. 22 – Jan. 4; Feb. 15 – Feb. 22; Mar. 1 – Mar. 29.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Teach skiing or snowboarding with the safety and welfare of the students being of primary importance.

    • Safe pick up of students and drop off at the end of the lesson.

    • Attendance at designated meeting times on scheduled workdays.

    • Completion of daily student attendance sheet.

    • Safekeeping and return of proper equipment with children at the end of the lesson.

    • Must be able to access daily schedules and other department and company notices electronically.

    • Required attendance and completion of HR Training and Orientation, plus all required SnowSports School training.

    • Knowledge of all posted information and what is contained in the instructor department manual.

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements.

    • Complete incident reports in accordance with departmental and company manuals.

    • Performance of various activities as required by SnowSports School and/or SSRC management.

    • Care and safekeeping of company-owned uniform.

    • Provide guests with general company information.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous instruction, teaching or coaching experience of any sport preferred.

    • Must provide a safe and fun learning environment for children and adults.

    • Must maintain a neat appearance in conformance with department and company standards.

    • Adhere to all safety policies.

    • Employment for this job is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and reference checks.

    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with SSRC Service Excellence standards.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • High school or equivalent

    • 5-day new hire training clinic hosted by SnowSports School

    • Ongoing in-house training (as required)

    • Teaching experience preferred

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be a minimum 18 years of age.

    • Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions while wearing ski and snowboard gear, including, boots, helmet, goggles, ski/snowboards, etc.

    • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, may include wiggly or squirmy students in motion.

    • Be able to assist in lifting students to an upright position from the ground.

    • Clearly communicate verbally in the English language.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    If you really like working outdoors and want to help ensure a long season for Steamboat Ski & Resort, please consider joining the Snowmaking team!  You will be expected to ride snowmobiles. One year of snowmaking experience preferred.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for positioning equipment and monitoring machine-made snow

    • Job requires working outdoors in extreme cold, wind, snow, wet, night time and uneven terrain

    • Lifting, dragging heavy hoses and snow guns, snowmobiles, and snow shoveling

    • Use of snowmobiles as transportation in adverse weather and terrain

    • Hearing test required post job offer

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Operate a snowmobile under adverse weather and terrain conditions

    • Handle high pressure snowmaking guns and hoses

    • One-year snowmaking experience preferred

    • Must be minimum 18 years of age

    • Days worked are: 4 days on and 3 days off alternating with 3 days on and 4 days off the next week

    • Each shift is 12 hour shifts

    • Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards

    POSITION SUMMARY

    With the powder comes the shoveling! We are looking for applicants who can ski/snowboard at an intermediate level to/from our Food & Beverage locations on-mountain. Ski/snowboard level is contingent on passing an on-snow assessment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Provide snow removal and ice build-up prevention around mountain facilities

    • Daily set up and breakdown of outdoor furniture

    • Assist with litter control

    • Employee will need to provide appropriate snow removal outerwear for inclement weather (i.e. hat, gloves, snow pants, jacket, etc.)

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Banquet servers needed at the Steamboat Grand. TIPS certification required and prior banquet/serving experience and knowledge of banquets preferred.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for the complete, accurate, and timely set-up and tear-down of all event locations

    • Responsible for the complete care and maintenance of all function space

    • Responsible for the organization and cleaning of all back of the house space

    • Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times

    • Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous efficient manner

    • Follow established health and safety procedures for using cleaning chemicals and adhere to all safety policies

    • Assist the banquet department during functions as needed

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Basic knowledge and skills in a routine banquet environment, desirable

    • Must understand and expedite room set diagrams

    • Knowledge of banquet room set up types, preferred

    • Provide clean and sanitary restrooms, halls, lobbies and dining areas, scrub and sanitize urinals, toilets, stalls, sinks, walls and mop floors in restrooms

    • Vacuum floors, hallways, lobbies, landings, stairways, elevators, and dining areas and mop per schedule

    • Empty trash in restrooms and lobbies, shine and clean all chrome and stainless fixtures

    • Clean all windows and sills of prints, dust and bugs

    • Clean areas including kitchen floors, storage rooms, dish areas, mop rooms and some equipment

    • This position has security responsibilities and will manage keys or key cards in order to securely unlock and lock the buildings and various venues

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must work well under own supervision

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Multi-talented persons needed! Rental/retail hybrids will be asked to perform two or more main duties within their assigned shop including cashiering, ski and binding fitting and/or retail sales.     • Binding adjustments are performed using standard hand tools and binding testing machine

    • The shops can be fast paced; candidate must have ability to switch roles often within a single shift

    • Specific product training will be provided, candidate will be required to consistently retain and relay product information to customer, including safety information pertaining to rental equipment

    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are looking for folks who can mix a drink and enjoy connecting with others! Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, and experience as necessary. Location will be determined in interview process.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for tending bar in a high-volume dining restaurant serving both bar patrons and wait staff; mix, pour and serve drinks to customers and/or wait staff serving tables; keep work area and bar organized and clean at all times

    • Responsible for cash handling and daily sales reconciliation. Perform cashier duties; set up cash drawer; take payment and return correct change; cash out at the end of the evening. Ensure that your bank is correct. Print out guest checks as needed for payment, close out and receive payments from guests to expedite service

    • Must be a team player by assisting in daily operations of serving, cleaning, bussing, and answering phones which is dictated by business volume. Greet and seat customers, as required

    • Open bar facilities. Stock and set up bar for service. Perform shift opening tasks that may include: setting tables, opening doors, set up service station, make sure all menus are stocked for all shifts, etc. As required

    • Maintain good customer relations; interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner. Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow proper etiquette guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner

    • Adhere to State Liquor Regulations, TIPS certified, etc. Determine when customers should not be served alcohol

    • All job responsibilities need to be completed in a timely and efficient manner

    • Handle disturbances created by disorderly or intoxicated patrons, with the proper level of guest consideration, safety and know the right time to seek assistance

    • Alert manager of inventory shortages of liquor, food and supplies based on anticipated or actual guest volume

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Steamboat is looking for cooks of all skill levels to join the growing culinary team. From entry level Cook 1 to Cook 4 for those who have multiple years of experience. Steamboat has multiple food and beverage outlets across the resort and applicants will be considered for each location and placed based on their skill level. Resume Required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Job details vary based on skill level as outlined in specific job descriptions

    • Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Prepares various foods, under supervision, for restaurant and banquets.

    • Assist in maintaining appropriate quality and production.

    • Maintain high pace while cooking/prepping for a high-volume restaurant and other functions.

    • Participates in cost control and ongoing sanitation practices.

    • Set work area according to station guide

    • Knife skills appropriate for cook level

    • Will label, date, rotate product and keep a clean station. Properly store food in correct and allotted areas.

    • Complete Food Handler and Allergen training.  Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures.

    • Report all observations of damaged/ dangerous equipment.

    • Conduct and record time and temps at station. Has awareness of storage areas, labeling and dating.

    • Takes direction from Chefs, Sous Chefs, and outlet managers.

    • Organize station to create greatest efficiency and keep work area and kitchen organized and clean at all times, adhering to all state and local sanitary requirements.

    • Assist Sous Chef and Chef with securing/storing food deliveries with knowledge of food hierarchy placement.

    • Support with communication/notification regarding product outages. 86'd items, product shortages, low inventory items.

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be minimum of 16 years of age for Cook 1

    • Must be minimum 18 years of age for Cook 2 - 4

    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    • Must read, write, and speak fluently in English

    • Cook 1 - Preferred experience as a basic prep cook and/or counter service worker, but not required

    • Cook 2 - One year of relevant professional cooking experience

    • Cook 3 - 2 years’ experience as a professional cook or 1 year plus an associate degree in Culinary Arts

    • Cook 4 - 3 years of relevant professional cooking experience or 2 years of experience and an associate degree in Culinary Arts

    • Work with outlet chefs on staffing needs and labor control

    • Oversee or directly supervise all food preparation, quantify and production activities

    • Conduct training as determined by management

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Chef capacity at a hotel, restaurant, or equivalent as a Banquet or Restaurant Chef required

    • Broad and in-depth professional knowledge and skills in food preparation, cooking and presentation; good knife handling skills and knowledge of food and its characteristics, especially its shelf-life expiration

    • Prior management experience required

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

    • Good planning, administrative and supervisory and math skills, and budget management experience required

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This winter season Steamboat is in need of an experienced sous chef. Associates degree in culinary arts and/or 3 years of relevant professional cooking experience in resort or high-end facilities. At least 1 year experience as sous chef, chef or kitchen manager in a supervisory capacity is required. Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, experience, and ability as necessary, must be able to Manage a shift in any restaurant or banquets.

    RESUME REQUIRED

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Culinary leader with prior management / supervisory experience.

    • Requires broad, in-depth knowledge and culinary skills in food preparation, cooking and presentation.

    • Able to effectively manage, train and give direction to kitchen staff.

    • Responsible for cost and quality control, managing labor and ongoing sanitation practices.

    • Manage a shift in any restaurant or banquets

    • Mastery of all ingredients and prep required for all menu items. Assist in the creation, usage, and follow through of prep lists including pars.

    • Advanced knife skills. Moves at an efficient and fast pace. Knife cuts are consistent and accurate. Able to train and teach others about knife skills and safety.

    • Prepares station guides and ensures each station is set to standard

    • Monitors and enforces all stations, walk-ins and storage areas for proper labeling and rotation of product. Address violations accordingly.

    • Supervise the cleaning and organizing of all storage areas.

    • Complete Food Handler and Allergen training. Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures.

    • Report all observations of damaged/ dangerous equipment. Conduct and record time and temps at station. Has awareness of storage areas, labeling and dating.

    • Where applicable ensure that HAACP Principles are followed. Ensuring that daily temperature logs are completed and filed

    • Takes direction from Chef and outlet managers.

    • Conduct training as determined by management, for staff.

    • Supervise, coordinate and participate in the daily operations of all restaurant kitchen facilities.

    • Assist Chef in the supervision of kitchen staff. Responsible for and supervises Cooks 1-4 in regards to food handling including: rotation and sanitation.

    • Assist Chef with food ordering and able to place food orders in the Chefs absence.

    • Operate computer system, email, purchasing guides, receipt log, chef’s daily log and notes.

    • Actively participate in end of period food inventory counts with Chef.

    • Meet and exceed all budgetary goals in regards to Cost of Goods. Basic understanding of food cost control methods and cost vs. sales relationship. Actively participate in daily food waste and transfer logs.

    • Meet and exceed all budgetary goals in regards to labor expense. Basic understanding of relationship between costs and revenue. Participate in scheduling and labor forecasting with Chef.

    • Plan and develop with Chef, all menus for outlets and all specialty menus. Research, develop, modify and test recipes.

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • At least 1 year experience as sous chef, chef or kitchen manager in a supervisory capacity is required.

    • Must be able to manage a shift in any restaurant or banquet

    • Must be minimum 18 years of age

    • Must be able to work all stations in kitchen

    • Must be able to adhere to Steamboat Culinary Guidelines
