    POSITION SUMMARY

    If you understand that cleanliness and sanitary conditions have a significant impact on guest enjoyment and want to lead a team that brings great experiences to our visitors in every aspect of their vacation, this is a great gig for you!  Professional cleaning experience are required.  Leadership skills and experience preferred.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Implementing best management practices for cleanliness and sanitation for supporting an A+ Destination Resort experience at Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation’s office buildings, guest bathrooms and common areas (both on mountain and in the base area), SSRC’s Employee Childcare Center, and at Haymaker Golf Course Clubhouse.

    • Supervising a team of 5-10 custodians in nightly cleaning duties.

    • Assisting the Manager of Custodial Services in scheduling, training, motivating, encouraging, coaching, reviewing and disciplining as needed. 

    • Maintaining all necessary supplies and equipment and reporting needs to the Manager.

    • Maintaining organized working conditions for staff

    • Maintenance and upkeep of all tools and equipment used in custodial services.

    • Utilization of communication software tools for team assignments and daily activities.

    • Coaching staff toward the behavioral expectations of the Steamboat Culture and Key Expectations.

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Ensure safety policies are trained and adhered to

    • Assist Manager with auditing and editing weekly timecards for staff

    • Hands on cleaning duties, working alongside staff to meet cleanliness and sanitation standards.

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Operating a vehicle is an essential function of this position and will require meeting the minimum requirements of the Alterra Driver’s Standards Policy: including possessing a valid Driver's License and meeting insurability standards.

    • Must work well under own supervision

    • Ability to adhere to all safety policies

    • Professional cleaning experience required.

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.

    • Qualified candidates are Professional, Friendly, Helpful, Knowledgeable and have a Strong Ability to Resolve Issues.

    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards.

    • Must be able to read, write and communicate verbally in the English language.

    • Must pass a skier/rider proficiency evaluation, with minimum skill level for Intermediate (Blue Square) terrain.

     

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent

     

    The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

     

    Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be a minimum 18 years of age

    • Safely lift approximately 30-50 lbs on a regular basis

    • Run a vacuum cleaner for extended periods of time

    • Walk, bend over, and stand for long periods of time​

    • Ski or Snowboard proficiency must be at least Intermediate

    • Will be required to operate snowmobiles for on-mountain travel, sometimes during nighttime hours

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Steamboat Child Care Center is looking for dedicated and flexible substitute teachers to join our new team!

     

    Early Childhood Subs will substitute for Early Childhood Teachers and Assistant Teachers when they are on vacation, sick, or in case of unplanned absences throughout the year. Early Childhood Subs will support Early Childhood Teachers and Assistant Teachers with the education, supervision, and care of children at the Steamboat Child Care Center.

     

    Housing is not available through this position.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Support classroom teachers and assistant teachers

    • Provide a safe, healthy, and secure environment with an emphasis on children’s social-emotional, physical, and cognitive needs

    • Perform daily child care duties as assigned including feeding, diapers/potty, and naps

    • Help in other classrooms as needed

    • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements

    • Maintain confidentiality

    • Be prepared to engage children in outdoor activities for long periods of time, sometimes in inclement weather (preschool)

    • Work cooperatively on a team with other teaching professionals

    • Provide positive guidance and redirection

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Willing to train the right person

    • Knowledge of child development and willingness to stay up to date with current best practices

    • Must demonstrate an interest in young children and a concern for their proper care and well-being.

    • Ability to maintain professional communication with parents, supervisors, Early Childhood Teachers, and Assistant Early Childhood Teachers

    • Clean floors, vacuum, sweep, dust, mop, wash, strip, wax, buff and shampoo carpets

    • Wash windows, walls, tables, dust furniture, fixtures and woodwork

    • Perform some routine inspection of electrical, heating and ventilating equipment

    • Follow established health and safety procedures for using cleaning chemicals

    • Strip and make the beds

    • Use vacuum, mop and full bucket of water, and like equipment to clean

    • Clean and stock bathrooms- wash tubs, shower walls, countertops, sinks and mirrors                                              

    • Clean and stock kitchens- clean refrigerator, stove, countertops, cupboards and put dishes away

    • Will conduct pat down searches and bag checks for alcohol compliance

    • Will be in company vehicle (trucks and snowmobile) 50% of time in varying terrain and conditions

    • Responsible for hourly security checks of all Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation properties

    • Respond to fire and or burglar alarms as necessary

    • Deal with guests and other individuals under varying circumstances

    • May be required to transport guests in shuttle van

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Set up, tear down, and cleanup of events

    • Oversee or directly supervise all food preparation, quantify and production activities

    • Conduct training as determined by management

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Chef capacity at a hotel, restaurant, or equivalent as a Banquet or Restaurant Chef required

    • Broad and in-depth professional knowledge and skills in food preparation, cooking and presentation; good knife handling skills and knowledge of food and its characteristics, especially its shelf-life expiration

    • Prior management experience required

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

    • Good planning, administrative and supervisory and math skills, and budget management experience required

    This winter season Steamboat is in need of an experienced sous chef. Associates degree in culinary arts and/or 3 years of relevant professional cooking experience in resort or high-end facilities.     • Requires broad, in-depth knowledge and culinary skills in food preparation, cooking and presentation.
