    POSITION SUMMARY  

    Three (3) years of general building repair and maintenance including knowledge of HVAC, appliance repair and installation, and plumbing preferred. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES  

    • Maintain a safe working environment and practice a safe work philosophy 

    • Monitor building facilities for 100% operation and follow through with preventive procedures 

    • Focus on general repair and maintenance of company building’s interior and exterior surfaces including drywall, paint and various coatings. 

    •  Use of tools such as electrical testers, amp probes, chart recorders, power and pneumatic tools, and other tools related to the building or maintenance fields 

    • Purchase parts as needed subject to policy 

    • Maintenance on company owned food & beverage equipment, including refrigeration repairs 

    • Other duties as assigned 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driver insurability standards 

    • Must possess knowledge concepts of materials, equipment and tools characteristic to facilities maintenance 

    • Three (3) years actual experience with general building repair and maintenance preferred. 

    • Knowledge of residential/commercial kitchen and bathroom appliances/fixtures repair and installation required, i.e. dishwasher, toilet, hot water heaters, garbage disposals, stoves, etc. preferred. 

    • Experience with suppression systems, alarm systems, heating and ventilating systems, pneumatic systems, circulating pumps, compressors, food & beverage equipment, refrigeration maintenance and repair and plumbing systems preferred 

    • Must follow instructions to perform tasks as delegated by the supervisor

    • High school diploma/GED required

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position will develop culinary strategy and lead the culinary team to execute on that strategy, supported by Restaurant GM’s, Chefs and the F&B and Catering & Conference Services Directors.  The culinary strategy includes the highest levels of food safety, food quality, menu development, brand concept development, team professionalism, leadership, continuing education and financial performance. Elevating overall F&B quality and consistency is the number one priority of this position.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Menu and concept development through menu engineering and profitability analysis (including specific timelines, costing of menu items, developing SOP’s, trend analysis and local procurement)

    • Procurement strategy including the support of all master procurement programs

    • Development of the culinary leadership team

    • Actively participate in the annual budget and capital planning process                               

    • Development of a strong food safety culture                                

    • Work with Directors, Chefs and GMs to achieve all financial targets with a strong emphasis on driving revenue while controlling cost of sales and labor

    • Directly hire chefs, sous chefs and oversee the hiring of all culinary positions

    • Hire, train, coach, mentor, develop and evaluate year-round and key seasonal managers and chefs

    • Conduct monthly food and direct supply inventories; audit and approve these inventories for posting

    • Oversee facilities’ seasonal start up and shut down including overall maintenance

    • Works closely with Directors and VP to develop and implement comprehensive training programs for all food and beverage staff

    • Understand and ensure team compliance with regulatory local, state and federal requirements and department/company policies and procedures

    • Integral member of the dining senior team that will develop a comprehensive, long term dining master plan

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 7 years of high volume, multi restaurant leadership experience with a proven track record to taking organizations to industry leading positions, or equivalent experience

    • Must have a strong business acumen inclusive of budgeting, costing, constant expense management, scheduling, menu engineering, P&L statements, inventory, par levels, etc. to maximize net revenue

    • Willingness to certify on a snowmobile, ATV and possibly a snowcat

    • Knowledge of fine dining, full service, fast casual, quick service and banquet operations including knowledge of industry trends, and the ability to be the trend setter

    • Ability to inspire our culinarians to daily look for ways to improve themselves and the food they serve

    • Ability to prioritize and be effective at time management

    • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, team building and communications skills

    • Excellent guest and employee service skills

    • Complete knowledge of Company and department policies and procedures

    • Ability to purchase goods to meet fluctuating volume and set/adhere to procurement guidelines

    This position will lead the set-up conference crews for all upcoming events.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Lead set up crew while completing, accurate, and timely set-up and tear-down of all event locations

    • Responsible for the complete care and maintenance of all function space

    • Responsible for the organization and cleaning of all back of the house space

    • Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times

    • Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous efficient manner

    • Follow established health and safety procedures for using cleaning chemicals and adhere to all safety policies

    • Assist the banquet department during functions as needed

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Hotel Banquets Manager position will require three (3) years' experience in hotel banquet management with prior experience as a banquet captain and/or server in a 4-Diamond hotel preferred.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Function as a highly independent, self-regulated, detail oriented professional ensuring that all aspects of events or functions have been addressed

    • Review all BEO’s making sure the department is prepared for all functions

    • Plan, supervise, and coordinate the daily operations of the banquet functions

    • Supervise and assist with all operations, which may include: setting tables, stocking service stations, taking orders from customers and serving, clearing and cleaning tables, setting up bars and other service stations

    • Monitor food and service to ensure that appropriate quality standards are maintained

    • Confer with Catering and sales, F&B Managers and other company personnel to plan, coordinate and evaluate services and activities

    • Plan and conduct staff meetings, communicate regularly with staff to coordinate banquet activities, assign and check work, resolve problems

    • Supervise guest counts at meetings, breaks, and meals, and make sure bill is prepared

    • Work directly with Restaurant Managers to cross utilize service and set up staff

    • Ensure that alcohol policies are being enforced

    • Request order for supplies: china, glass, silverware, or meeting room supplies from purchasing agent

    • Supervise inventory and orders for table linen, china, glassware, silverware, chafing dishes

    • Report client feedback to F&B Director, Director of Catering and Convention Services, Catering Manager and VP of F&B to evaluate event planning and performance on an ongoing regular basis

    • Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have a minimum of three years' experience in hotel banquet management

    • Prior experience as a banquet captain and server in a 4-diamond hotel, preferred

    • Previous cash handling experience required (prior accounting experience desirable)

    • Prefer experience with RTP and Workday preferred (knowledge of Delphi software helpful)

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with extensive knowledge of Excel

    • Must be highly organized and detailed oriented as well as able to deal with multiple departments and personalities in a high-pressure environment

    • Previous experience with basic food service administrative functions, such as ordering, inventory control, staff scheduling, and cash reports preferred

    • Experience working with a variety of commercial food service equipment

    • Ability to problem solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers

    • Ability to be a consistent role model for company’s Service Excellence standards

    • Current service of alcohol training program certification or get certification within 3 months of hiring

     

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • High School Diploma or GED required

     

    The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives.

    Steamboat area base salary range: $50,000 - $63,000 per year plus gratuities. (Gratuities are estimated to be an additional $5,000 to $20,000 per year depending on business levels).

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This summer season the Steamboat Grand Hotel is in need of an experienced banquet sous chef. Associates degree in culinary arts and/or 3 years of relevant professional cooking experience in resort or high-end facilities. At least 1 year experience as sous chef, chef or kitchen manager in a supervisory capacity is required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Culinary leader with prior management / supervisory experience.

    • Requires broad, in-depth knowledge and culinary skills in food preparation, cooking and presentation.

    • Able to effectively manage, train and give direction to kitchen staff.

    • Responsible for cost and quality control, managing labor and ongoing sanitation practices.

    • Manage a shift in any restaurant or banquets

    • Mastery of all ingredients and prep required for all menu items. Assist in the creation, usage, and follow through of prep lists including pars.

    • Advanced knife skills. Moves at an efficient and fast pace. Knife cuts are consistent and accurate. Able to train and teach others about knife skills and safety.

    • Prepares station guides and ensures each station is set to standard

    • Monitors and enforces all stations, walk-ins and storage areas for proper labeling and rotation of product. Address violations accordingly.

    • Supervise the cleaning and organizing of all storage areas.

    • Complete Food Handler and Allergen training. Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures.

    • Report all observations of damaged/ dangerous equipment. Conduct and record time and temps at station. Has awareness of storage areas, labeling and dating.

    • Where applicable ensure that HAACP Principles are followed. Ensuring that daily temperature logs are completed and filed

    • Takes direction from Chef and outlet managers.

    • Conduct training as determined by management, for staff.

    • Supervise, coordinate and participate in the daily operations of all restaurant kitchen facilities.

    • Assist Chef in the supervision of kitchen staff. Responsible for and supervises Cooks 1-4 in regards to food handling including: rotation and sanitation.

    • Assist Chef with food ordering and able to place food orders in the Chefs absence.

    • Operate computer system, email, purchasing guides, receipt log, chef’s daily log and notes.

    • Actively participate in end of period food inventory counts with Chef.

    • Meet and exceed all budgetary goals in regards to Cost of Goods. Basic understanding of food cost control methods and cost vs. sales relationship. Actively participate in daily food waste and transfer logs.

    • Meet and exceed all budgetary goals in regards to labor expense. Basic understanding of relationship between costs and revenue. Participate in scheduling and labor forecasting with Chef.

    • Plan and develop with Chef, all menus for outlets and all specialty menus. Research, develop, modify and test recipes.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Experienced and medically trained Mtn. Bikers wanted!  Bike patrollers needed to monitor the safety of Steamboat Ski & Resort Co., while providing our legendary guest service.  Must have valid/current Outdoor Emergency Care, Wilderness First Responder or EMT; CPR also required.

    Work bikes are NOT provided – you must be able to provide your own mountain bike.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Primary duty to patrol, monitor, and maintain all trails and signage within the Mt. Werner network, enforcing ticketing and safety rules

    • Maintain first-aid supply bags, administer first-aid when necessary

    • Document incidents requiring first-aid

    • Communicate effectively with team and operational partners to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency

    • Provide information and assistance to the guest when needed

    • Assist with transportation of guests via ATV, van or truck

    • Assist Instructor team with lesson operations, teach lessons if certified to teach and demand requires

    • Attendance at designated meeting times on days scheduled to work

    • Trail maintenance as required on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  Experience using shovels, saws, hammers, and other common trail work and construction tools preferred.

    • Attend required orientation and training sessions

    • Previous patrol experience, preferred

    • 2 years of previous work history/education required

    • Previous cash handling experience preferred

    • Prior experience with RTP preferred

    • Exceptional people and language skills; good communication skills needed

    • Must have basic mathematical skills - add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percent’s

    • Must maintain neatly, groomed appearance, abide by the uniform policy

    • Basic computer experience helpful

    • Multi-tasking skills

    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent

    The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

    Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years old

    • Stand for long periods of time and move quickly and efficiently from one area to the next

    • Operate a cash register and sales computer system

    • Lift approximately 25-35 pounds on a frequent basis

    • Communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing

    • Work independently and alone in the store
