    Lime Kiln Café is Roche Harbor’s local joint, located at the end of our historic wharf building surrounded by saltwater.  The Cafe opens early in the morning making donuts from scratch and serving a hearty mid-west style breakfast with crispy hashbrowns dripping with butter, fresh egg creations, famous thin style pancakes and iron skillet retro hash dishes Lime Kiln Cafés menu is made from scratch with high quality local products.

     

    Responsibilities of Egg Cook include:

    • Possess a Valid Washington State Food Workers Card (ServSafe® Certificate is helpful but does not qualify/replace a Washington State Food Worker Card)
    • Passion for cooking and the willingness to learn from others

    • Ability to work 8 active egg pans and poaching water for 4 hours
    • Delivers high quality omelets, scrambles and call eggs in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to teach others how to master egg cooking

    Experience Required/Qualifications: 2-3 year breakfast cooking or culinary degree. Egg mastery in high volume breakfast house. Able to prepare all egg preparations in pans including; call eggs, poached, omelets, scrambles, frittata, hash and more.

    Start Date: August 12, 2024

    Full time/year round.  Medical, dental, some vision.  Paid vacation and paid sick time.  Discounts across the resort ranging from 20-35% off.  Free use of pool and tennis courts.

    Wage: $20.00 per/hr. + Tips        Overtime Rate (after 40 hrs.): $30.00 per/hr. + Tips

    Tip Income: $5 to $7 per/hrs. Plus more in July and August         

    Housing is available.  Rent is paid weekly through payroll.

     

    Other Compensation:

    • Chef Uniforms provided with cleaning services. (Chef coat, pants, hat and apron) Culinary staff to provide safety shoes and optional knife set
    • End of Season Bonus of $1.00 for every hour worked.  Termination of employment forfeits all bonus accrual.

    Award winning McMillin's Dining Room has been Roche Harbor’s flag ship restaurant for more than 6 years. After our doors in 1958, we still serve our famed USDA Prime 10 hour Prime rib, fresh Northwest seafood, local shellfish and oysters and produce from all over our bountiful Island. The menu, food quality, and preparation at McMillin’s Dining Room have been bringing in regulars for decades. With water views and refined service, this is where our guests come to relax and enjoy fine dining at Roche Harbor Resort.  This is a scratch kitchen with menu items changing daily featuring the abundance of our island and the Northwest finest ingredients.

    Lead by Sous Chef – Michael McQuaid and talented team.

    Responsibilities of Cook 3 include:

    • Star Performance Incentive.  This is earned bonus for staff excelling in their kitchen and is paid weekly: Up to $1.00 for every hour worked for meeting or exceeding star performance standards 20 center per hour for each standard met:

    Job Overview: The Fine Garden staff member is responsible for overseeing and executing high-quality gardening and landscaping projects for assigned areas. This role involves hands-on gardening, and ensuring the overall aesthetic and health of the gardens are upheld to the best standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1.           Garden Maintenance:

    .               Implement plant care routines including watering, pruning, weeding, and fertilizing for assigned areas.

    .               Monitor plant health and address any issues such as pests and diseases.

    .               Perform soil preparation and planting of seasonal flowers, shrubs, and trees.

    2.            Design and Planning:

    .               Implement garden layouts as per design plans, maintaining aesthetic quality.

    3.            Operations:

    .               Maintain gardening tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition, keep grounds bay clean and organized.

    .               Ensure all gardening activities comply with safety regulations and standards.

    4.            Customer Relations:

    .               Interact professionally with clients, visitors and employees, answering their questions.

    .               Provide expert advice on plant care and garden maintenance.

    .               Address client concerns and feedback promptly and effectively.

    5.            Continuous Improvement:

    Reports To: Garden Manager or Landscape Supervisor

    Key Responsibilities:

    1.        Supervision and Leadership:

    .          Lead and manage a team of gardeners.

    .          Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.

    .          Delegate tasks efficiently and ensure timely completion of projects.

    .          Monitor the time used for accomplishing the task(s) and provide a written record by the end of each operational week.

    .          Create a weekly plan for the next week and present it by the end of the previous operational week for approval.

                

    2.        Garden Maintenance:

    Roche Harbor Utilities (San Juan Island)

    Certified Water or Wastewater Treatment Operator

    Water and Wastewater Utility Worker

    Roche Harbor is seeking a Washington State certified operator inWater Treatment (WTPO 1) and/or Wastewater Treatment(Group 1). 

    Roche Harbor Utilities operates a water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, and propane distribution system. 

    Supervision:

    Employee reports to supervisor or senior plant operator. 

    Duties, Responsibilities and Requirements

    1. Performs tasks necessary to maintain structures, equipment, and grounds at the water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, distribution, collections and propane system. Monthly meter reading. 

    2. Cleans all plant equipment, pumps, motors, floors and walls on a periodic schedule to maintain established sanitary standards.

    3. Work is medium heavy in nature, occasionally performed under hazardous or adverse weather conditions and requires attention to prevent errors or injury. Employees occasionally work in traffic, near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and with toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. This is a physical job, the ability to kneel, walk, stoop, climb ladders, bend and carry 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day.

    4. Ability to use or operate a variety of hand and power tools (weed eater, chain saw, chop saw) and motorized equipment safely and efficiently.

    5. Obtains samples according to established procedure; performs standard laboratory tests. Monitor all plant operations and record data. Dedication to accurately maintain records and prepare reports.

    6. Ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency.

    7. Attention to detail, initiative, problem solver and a willingness to learn new skills.

    8. Ability to work effectively alone or in a team. Routine contact with other employees but must be able to work under limited supervision. Follows established procedures, maintains good communication with coworkers and supervisor.

    9. Proper use of personal protective equipment.

    10. Perform all work in accordance with local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations and in compliance with all departmental safety policies and procedures. This includes using appropriate safety devices and equipment.

    11. Previous plumbing, electrical and mechanical aptitude,and propane experience a plus.

    12. Flexibility in workdays and work hours based on seasonal needs. 

    13. Current driver’s license is required.

    14. Must have State of Washington operator certification in Water Treatment (WTPO 1) and/or Wastewater Treatment (Group 1).
