    WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

    Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings, and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service provided in all Fox Island facilities. . As Day Lodge Chef, you coordinate activities and direct the trainings of the cooks and dishwashers engaged in preparing and cooking food for our high volume kitchen. You will work with team members within your department and others to complete the following tasks:

    • Prepare buffet meal for guests following recipes
    • create an exceptional dining environment that is compatible with the island experience
    • Provide excellent service to both guests and team members
    • Ensure all guests’ special needs are met, including dietary restrictions
    • Work closely with team members to ensure that all supplies are ordered, received, stored and inventoried
    • Estimate food consumption, purchases and requisitions food and kitchen supplies, minimizing waste
    • Develop rotating menu for daily staff meals and coordinate the ordering and preparation of these foods
    • Participate in the provisioning of the island to include loading and unloading of supply vessels, conducting inventories and properly and safely storing items

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    • Valid ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification
    • Current CPR, First Aid Ability to manage and supervise staff
    • Knowledge of proper food handling and preparations standards
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Culinary School graduate or previous experience as Chef or supervisor in food operations, or equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required

    WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for washing dishes in a large commercial kitchen. You will also be responsible for some food preparation, food service, daily cleaning of the kitchen and general maintenance of the facilities. You will work with team members within your department and others to complete the following tasks:

    • Wash all dishes, pots and pans in a safe and efficient manner 
    • Maintain clean and sanitary food preparation facilities

As a Maintenance Technician, you will undertake the responsibility to preserve the condition and functionality of the premises, making improvements as necessary. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety to include; delivering propane to all buildings on the island, daily water farm and wastewater checks, maintain the buildings, guest rooms, and grounds in the best possible condition. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities to include:

    • Surveying buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards and regulations
    • Performing maintenance of electrical systems and manual repairs when necessary
    • Assisting in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
    • Maintaining heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
    • Conducting general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    • Current CPR and First Aid certification
    • Must obtain an Alaska Food Handlers card

    WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

    Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings, and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service provided in all Fox Island facilities.  As the Assistant General Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the General Manager of the lodge with management and daily operations of lodge facilities to include efficient operations of the buffet operation, housekeeping, accounting and cash control, food and beverage operations, gift shop operations and proper maintenance of buildings. You will be responsible for scheduling, training, coaching and disciplining employees. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities to include:

    • Make sound judgements and anticipate issues and opportunities for process improvement
    • Respond to comments, complaints and concerns with a high level of efficiency and in the best interest of the guest and company
    • Ensure the safety and security of all guests and employees while on Fox Island
    • Develop and coordinate regularly scheduled safety meetings and drills
    • Recruit, hire and terminate seasonal staff while following company policy

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    • Current CPR and First Aid
    • ServSafe Food Protection  Manager certification
    • Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAPS) certification
    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train, manage and lead staff
    • Works well independently and in team environment settings with minimal supervision
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficient using industry-standard computer software and databases
    • Three to five years’ practical experience in hotel and/or restaurant management, hospitality management or any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills
