  • Captain- Tour Boat

    • Learn and perform safe line handling skills under direction of the Captain, Sr Deckhand or Crew Chief
    • Exhibit knowledge of local history, geology and industry
    • Regularly interact with guests regarding safety procedures, tour information, boat information and environmental data
    • Conduct food services, including cooking, preparation, serving and cleaning up

  • Departure Facilitator

As Departure Facilitator, you will facilitate smooth and timely boat departures by assisting with communication between guests, guest service agents and boat crewmembers. You will be the central point of contact for departures on the dock. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities to include:

    • Work with marine operations staff to ensure that vessel to ensure all departures are fully resourced and staffed
    • Proactively coordinate with guest service agents to ensure that island transfers are efficient
    • Interact with and address any guest questions or concerns on the dock
    • Assist in same day and next day departure preparations

    Responsible for providing courteous, knowledgeable guest service to gift shop clients. Ensure gift shop
    opening and closing procedures are followed in a timely manner. Perform all aspects of sales transactions. Responsible for opening and closing gift shop and completing all shift paperwork

    • Provide sales and guest service to gift shop clients
    • Perform cash handling and accounting procedures to include verification and reconciliation of shift bank
    • Perform sales transactions using Company systems
    • Responsible for inventory control and restocking, including maintaining a list of restocking needs

    Responsible for providing supply support to the tour boats and building facilities. Receive, check, and
    shelve stock items and complete regular inventories. Ensure warehouse inventory is maintained in an
    orderly manner.

    • Assist Logistics Manager with obtaining, filling, and transporting stock orders to tour vessels and
      building facilities
    • Assist with receiving, checking, shelving and keeping inventories of warehouse stock items. Handling
      alcohol inventory may be required
    • Maintain ready communication between the warehouse, main building, tour boats and island lodge
    • Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse, including completing regular inventories of stock
    • Run a variety of errands as assigned

  • Marine Shuttle Driver

    / $1000.00 sign on bonus for CDL drivers, $500.00 for non CDL

    Uses company transportation assets to move guests and cargo in a safe, friendly and timely manner.
    Drivers conduct and coordinate basic maintenance on company vehicles and maintain records in
    accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation and company standards

    • Conduct pre and post operation maintenance on assigned vehicle daily. Annotate issues correctly
    • Operate shuttles along assigned routes, reporting changes or challenges to the coordinator
    • Coordinate and communicate with guest service, group coordination and marine staffs to ensure that
      guests receive the best possible service and important information is shared throughout the company
    • Maintains records in accordance with company, state and DOT requirements regarding vehicle
      maintenance, driver activities and traffic incidents

  • Marine Operations Coordinator

    $70,000.00 / year

    Coordinates Kenai Fjords Tours’ personnel resources, equipment, supplies and activities to achieve safe operations, satisfy guest requirements, build teamwork and maximize profit

    Major Responsibilities

    / Manage crews, boat inventory and passenger loads daily to ensure safety, passenger comfort and crew efficiency. Communicate with customer service, groups and inventory management to ensure coordination

    / Recruit, hire, train, and retain quality employees for work in operations. Ensure that the best possible employees serve our guests on the boats and in our transportation assets

    / Manage employee schedules on a long-term basis ensuring that vessels and vehicles are adequately manned with safe, properly trained employees

    / Maintain records for company (TAC) fleet vehicles and renewals as necessary

    / Ensure that all operations are in adherence with current state and federal policies. Educate employees about their responsibilities regarding these rules and regulations

    / Ensure that the Fox Island operation is fully and efficiently supported, with the goal of consistently improving the guest’s experience and safety in general

    / Train returning and new employees to ensure that the guest gets a safe and exceptionally enjoyable experience. Focus of training includes: safety/emergency response, guest service/interpretation, sanitary food service practices, vehicle, vessel and facility maintenance and care

    / Produce accurate training materials for employees. As a minimum this will include training and emergency response manuals for Transportation staff, and boat staff, as well as training matrixes for all positions

    / Design, communicate and evaluate operations policies and procedures ensuring uniformly high safety standards and guest service

    / Integrate, educate and communicate with local community, with the goal of ensuring that Kenai Fjords Tours’ views are heard on local proposals that affect us. We also seek to be a part of the community to ensure that Seward remains a friendly and enjoyable environment for tourism

    / Communicate regularly with sales, marketing and reservations staff, ensuring that what we are doing here in Seward matches what we are marketing, selling and packaging in Anchorage.

  • Logistic Warehouse Manager

    Kenai Fjords Tours

    Responsible for managing food warehouse inventory activities to ensure efficient operations and high quality standards. Establishes operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Manages and administers USCG drug testing policy and procedures.

    Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities) 

    • Oversees food warehouse inventory purchasing, receiving, and issuance
    • Ensures adequate inventory, (food, consumables, supplies) is issued for boat related activities, including Fox Island day lodge, overnight lodge, Fox Island crew, and Kenai Fjords Tours’ administrative office
    • Screens and hires warehouse personnel and issues work assignments
    • Coordinates and trains warehouse personnel on the point of sale software related to inventory, tracking, and distribution of supplies
    • Identifies vendors and their ability to deliver specified items; prepares proposals, and negotiates prices
    • Identifies areas in need of improved purchasing efficiencies; proactively seeks and negotiates corporate discounts to minimize costs
    • Assigns codes to purchases, approves invoices, and submits appropriate documentation to TAC Accounting Department for timely payment
    • Coordinates with the General Manager to ensure adequate inventory of company uniforms is maintained. Manages distribution of uniforms to all employees
    • Regularly performs quality control checks on food warehouse inventory to ensure company standards are being maintained
    • Manages and administers USCG drug testing policy, including collecting samples for testing, sending samples to designated labs in accordance with regulatory requirements, managing paperwork, and conducting mandatory drug awareness training
    • Regularly demonstrates knowledge and compliance with the company safety program, including completion of all required training
    • Responsible for ensuring safety procedures are understood and complied with by department staff
    • Maintains company consolidated Material Safety Data Sheets and educates employees regarding their use
    • Other duties as assigned
