Our season runs March through September and we employ more than 400 seasonal employees each year. Candidates available for employment for an entire season are given first consideration. Supervisory and entry-level jobs are available at all locations.

Kenai Fjords Tours (KFT)
On-site housing is provided for its employees who are 18 years of age or older at a charge of $10 per day. Housing is a privilege, not a right. It is important that all employees respect the privacy of others. Each employee's consideration will ensure the comfort and safety of all. Rules and policies are in place to help ensure a quality, peaceful living experience for everyone.
Limited employee housing is available and generally reserved for new employees, based on availability. Employee housing is a smoke/alcohol/drug-free environment and each unit has a kitchen, dining area, living room, and washer/dryer. KFT also provides bedding and towels. The kitchen area is equipped with fridges, stoves, microwaves, and cooking utensils. Other housing options may be found in our local newspaper the “Seward Phoenix Log,” “The Seward City News," "The Seward Journal," or the Seward Housing Facebook Page.
Housing Policies
Housing is a community experience and is part of your employment, rules, and policies are to help ensure a quality, peaceful living experience for everyone.
Staff housing is a "dry camp." Alcohol is not allowed.
Quiet time is from 10 pm to 7 am. Employees work variable shifts.
Kenai Fjords Tours is a smoke-free facility; no smoking inside any building.
Pets are not allowed in company housing.

Kenai Fjords Tours is located in the small boat harbor and easily accessible by car, bike, foot. There are local taxi services available 24 hours a day.
What to Bring
A good alarm clock (battery operated) if you have an early shift! The summer climate can be absolutely gorgeous and sunny one day and cold and wet the next. It can be cold in early May and September so employees need an assortment of clothing. The average summer temperature is 65 degrees and some suggestions are:
Seward is Alaska's seaside town located on the southern tip of the Kenai Peninsula. The year-round population is approximately 3,000 residents. This small seaside town is home to a bustling fishing and tourism industry. Yet, there is not a stoplight to be found. Seward is a casual and relaxed town that invites you to go anywhere and feel welcome in clean casual clothes or jeans. And in your free time, you’ll find there is a lot to do.

What will you do in this job?

As a Marine Boat Washer, you will contribute to the effective operations and overall guest satisfaction and comfort by maintaining the cleanliness of day trip vessels. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities to include:
Maintain the cleanliness of day trip vessels upon their return from cruises
Thoroughly clean windows, decks, restroom facilities, floors and countertops
What skills and experience do you need for this job?
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organization and detail-oriented skills
Basic knowledge of line handling techniques and common marine knots
Must be 21 years of age or older

You will assist guests with beverage orders at the Espresso Bar in a profession, healthy, and pleasant manner. Work with marine operations staff to ensure that vessel to ensure all departures are fully resourced and staffed
Proactively coordinate with guest service agents to ensure that island transfers are efficient
Interact with and address any guest questions or concerns on the dock
Assist in same day and next day departure preparations

As the Front Desk Supervisor, you will contribute to the overall guest satisfaction by providing courteous service. You will serve as the first point of contact for many guest inquiries. You will greet and assist guests and provide information about the Alaska Collection by Pursuit products. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities to include:
Assist guests in person and on the phone with information about tours and services
Accurately capture reservations on the computer-based reservations system
Assist in the supervision of all Guest Service Agents as directed
Work closely with fellow team members to ensure on-time vessel departures

As a Retail Supervisor, you will work closely with the Retail Manager in managing cash, employee attendance, revenue assurance and opening/closing the store. Educate guests on products and services
Order, receive and maintain inventory
Ensure completion of daily and weekly tasks for the store and employees

As a Groups Assistant, you will assist with the maintenance of all national and international accounts. You will finalize bookings, monitor status changes of groups, provide assistance in boarding and communicate closely with operations, inventory and accounting teams to fulfill sales agreements. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities to include:
Enter new group bookings into the reservations system
Monitor changes to group bookings and maintain communication with guests regarding changes
Greet the groups as they arrive and distribute boarding passes
Maintain files for all current and prospective accounts
What will you do in this job?
Greet and check in guests for tour departures, ensuring an efficient and welcoming process.
Provide exceptional customer service and information about tours, schedules, and local attractions.
Answer phone calls, respond to email inquiries, and assist guests with questions and bookings.
Book tour reservations accurately using company software and handle payment transactions.
Support the retail department by assisting customers, processing sales, restocking merchandise, and maintaining store appearance.
Resolve guest issues and concerns with professionalism and a focus on positive outcomes.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive guest experience.
Maintain accurate records of guest interactions, bookings, and sales transactions.
Promote Kenai Fjords Tours’ products, services, and commitment to hospitality.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality or tourism preferred.
Previous customer service, retail, or reservation experience is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with computers and reservation or point-of-sale systems.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for guest service.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during peak season.
Responsible for providing supply support to the tour boats and building facilities. Receive, check, and shelve stock items and complete regular inventories. Ensure warehouse inventory is maintained in an orderly manner.
Assist Logistics Manager with obtaining, filling, and transporting stock orders to tour vessels and
building facilities
Assist with receiving, checking, shelving and keeping inventories of warehouse stock items. Handling
alcohol inventory may be required
Maintain ready communication between the warehouse, main building, tour boats and island lodge
Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse, including completing regular inventories of stock
Run a variety of errands as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
Uses company transportation assets to move guests and cargo in a safe, friendly and timely manner.
Drivers conduct and coordinate basic maintenance on company vehicles and maintain records in
accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation and company standards
Conduct pre and post operation maintenance on assigned vehicle daily. Annotate issues correctly
Operate shuttles along assigned routes, reporting changes or challenges to the coordinator
Coordinate and communicate with guest service, group coordination and marine staffs to ensure that
guests receive the best possible service and important information is shared throughout the company
Maintains records in accordance with company, state and DOT requirements regarding vehicle
maintenance, driver activities and traffic incidents

As the Prep Cook, you will prepare menu items for dining room service while working efficiently with standardized recipes and presentations. You will have a range of duties in order to assist team members including:

As the Lead Prep Cook, you will oversee, instruct, and participate in the preparation of menu items for dining room service, and oversee preparation of menu items for banquets and weddings. You will work closely with the staff in an efficient, courteous and dedicated manner to ensure that the guest’s expectations are met. You will have a range of duties in order to assist the wait staff including:
