The Island Inn is an iconic seasonal hotel (1907) and restaurant located 11 miles off Mid-Coast Maine on historic Monhegan Island. It one of a handful of Victorian-era coastal hotels still operating in Maine. Its owners have a home on the Island and are dedicated to preserving the hotel's historic roots while providing its loyal and new guests with a fresh and always-improving experience.
Monhegan Island, a natural paradise of woods & rocky shores is a small community of lobstermen and working artists. Most of Monhegan is preserved as a conservation area with 12 miles of hiking trails around the highest headland cliffs on the East Coast and endless rocky coves. It also has a thriving village with stores, post office, galleries - even its own micro-brewery and coffee roaster!
