TOUR GUIDE
Reports to: Excursions Supervisor
Category: Seasonal (April- October in Hoonah, Alaska)
Summary:
Tour Guides provide a leadership role as well as interpretation and narration for guests departing on Excursions. Guides will be cross trained to lead all tours associated with Icy Strait Point and may be required to switch excursion assignment schedule if necessary. Tours may include things like Mountain Forrest, Bird Watching, Jeep Tours, Wildlife, Zip Rider and ATV Tours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: Best, Authentic, and Profitable Tour Destination
- Provide excellent customer service to all Icy Strait Point guests
- Provide guests with information about the scenery, wildlife, history, culture and geography
- Provide guests with information about all tours available at Icy Strait Point
- Participate in all required trainings
- Ensure the safety of all Guests on tours
- Work as greeters to welcome guests and conduct guest orientations
- Assist within programs wherever needed and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Adequate knowledge or willingness to learn about Tlingit culture
- Must be able to learn a Tlingit Introduction
- Knowledge of the local area (marine life, plants, animals, birds)
- Must have good verbal communication; patient and able to lead groups of kids as well as adults
- Strong commitment to Safety
- Kayak Guides must be willing to learn all required songs and stories of the ISP Kayak tour.
- Ability to learn, retain and present excursion information to guests in an accurate manner.
- Promote other ISP venues, distribute ISP literature and/or sell ISP merchandise
- This is a safety sensitive position that is subject to drug testing
- Some tours require 18 years of age or older

Category: Seasonal (February - October in Hoonah, Alaska)
Position Summary:
The overriding responsibility of a bear safety employee is to SAFELY provide a high-quality experience for anyone being transported by bus and on foot at the Spasski Bear Trail, or the ISP Hiking Trail. Bear Safety staff are expected to be able to provide interpretation and narration for guests on bear excursions and answer occasional questions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: Best, Authentic and Profitable Tour Destination.
- Always act in a SAFE, responsible manner and keep all equipment in SAFE condition.
- Deliver a first-class experience to all guests and visitors.
- Effective public speaking when addressing guests, crew or the public.
- Learn and impart knowledge to guests and do site promotion of Icy Strait Point
- Provide excellent customer service to all ISP guests.
- Ensure the safety of all guests on tours.
- Ability to take charge of a crowd in an emergency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Have or be able to attain First Aid/CPR certification.
- Driver’s License with clean driving record preferred
- Must be insurable with Icy Strait Point (DUI, DWI, negligent or reckless driving citations within the past 5 years is uninsurable).
- Firearm knowledge and experience
- Pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion of drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be able to learn a Tlingit Introduction, knowledge, or willingness to learn about Tlingit culture.
- Knowledge of the local area (marine life, plants, animals, birds).
- Must have good customer service skills.
- Must have good verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing as well as random drug testing throughout the season
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours/day w/minimal breaks. Participate in all required training.

ADVENTURE PARK OBSTACLE COURSE OPERATOR
Reports to: Excursions Supervisor

Summary:

- Daily opening and closing of the course
- Daily equipment and course inspections
- Equip clients with gear and monitor for necessary adjustments throughout their climb
- Lead a safety briefing and demonstration
- Enforce all rules and regulations for the Adventure Park
- Monitor participants on the courses
- Verbally and physically assist participants on courses
- Handle at-height rescue situations
- Park cleans up and site maintenance
- Provide guests with information about the scenery, wildlife, history, culture and geography.
- Participate in all required trainings and safety meetings
- Maintain a current First Aid/CPR certification
- Other duties as assigned

GUEST SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE/TOUR SALES
Reports to: Tour Sales Supervisor
Category: Seasonal (April - October in Hoonah, Alaska)
Salary Range: Seasonal $18.00 plus bonus potential
Summary:
Guest Services Representatives sells tickets, ensure guests meet the required excursion requirements, ensure guests sign excursion waivers (as required), announce excursion departures, escort guests to their tour vehicle, load guest on the assigned gondola and ensure timely departures of assigned tours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable Cruise Destination
- Provide excellent customer service to all ISP guests
- Sell and provide guests with information about all tours available at Icy Strait Point
- Work as greeters to welcome guests and conduct guest orientations and line control
- Conduct functions, such as:
- Checking guests’ weight
- Verifying driver’s license information
- Ensuring guests fill out waivers, as required
- Secure bag check area
- Escort guests to tour vehicles or gondola and ensure timely tour departure
- Responsible for the safe and orderly traffic of passengers on/off an aerial gondola cabin or tour
- Communicate clearly with tour guides, drivers, supervisors, gondola operators and management
- Promote other Icy Strait Point venues, distribute literature and/or sell merchandise
- Assist within programs wherever needed

Summary:
Actors provide a leadership role as well as interpretation and narration for guests attending various theater productions. Actors will be cross trained to play all parts in Icy Strait Point Theater Productions and may be required to switch actor assignment schedule if necessary.

- Provide excellent customer service to all Icy Strait Point guests

Tour Bus Driver / CDL Pays $28.00 an hour plus seasonal completion bonus.
Reports to: Excursions Supervisor

Summary:
Tour Bus Drivers transports cruise guests and non-cruise guests to various locations at Icy Strait Point. The driver will ensure guests are transported to different locations based on the tour and scheduling.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Provide excellent customer service to all IPS guests
- Provide guests with general information about ISP
- Participate in all required trainings

Requirements:
- Adequate knowledge or willingness to learn about Tlingit culture
- Valid CDL Driver’s license
- Must have good customer service skills and the ability to communicate with ISP guests and others in a professional, friendly, and accurate manner.
- The Driver must be able to learn, retain and relay general ISP information.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
- 25 or older is preferred
- Driver for Hire card is preferred

Summary:
A Sales/Cashier is responsible for maintaining Guest Service as per company standard, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all Company Policy/Store standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Guest Service.
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions, and advertisements.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Captain, the Deckhand is responsible for delivering an excellent guest experience to all passengers on board while maintaining the safety and comfort of everyone. This position will assist the Captain in daily cleaning and stocking duties of the boat, weekly maintenance and participates in all drills and training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: Best, Authentic and Profitable Tour Destination.
- Acts as the tour Guide and Naturalist, delivering historical and cultural information of the area and providing guests with knowledge of marine mammals and wildlife in the area. Enhance guest experience by actively searching for wildlife and bringing sightings to the attention of the guests.
- Under the direction of the captain, handle mooring lines during docking and un-docking procedures, taking and securing the gangway ensuring it’s safety for guests and crew to use and assist them while using the gangway.
- Assist dock reps in loading vessels and crowd control on the dock, combo card distribution where required.
- Participate in drills including fire, flooding, man overboard, abandon ship, medical, and spill response.
- Inventory management of vessel supplies and inform Captain when supplies are needed.
- Responsible for clean-up of vessel after each tour, remove garbage, wash windows, hose down with fresh water and re-stock as necessary.
- Maintain awareness of basic safety rules, workplace safety and respect for the environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Bartender
Category: ICY STRAIT BREWERY
Summary:
Bartenders are in charge of managing drink orders at a restaurant to keep customers satisfied during meals or social gatherings. Bartenders need extensive knowledge of common drinks which they use to recommend drinks to customers, prepare cocktails, pour beers and properly decant wines. Bartenders also entertain customers who sit at the bar by providing stimulating conversation and excellent customer service while filling drink orders for other customers. Their role is to ensure that customers are of legal drinking age and then prepare a requested drink to their specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Icy Strait Point Culinary Host provides a leadership role as well as interpretation and narration for guests attending the In Alaska’s Wildest Kitchen tour. The Culinary Host must be able to fillet both salmon and halibut in front of guests.
