    Position Summary:

    Guest Services Representatives ensure guests meet the required excursion requirements, ensure guests sign excursion waivers (as required), announce excursion departures, escort guests to their tour vehicle, and ensure timely departures of assigned tours.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide excellent customer service to all Icy Strait Point guests.
    • Provide guests with information about all tours available at Icy Strait Point
    • Conduct functions, such as:
      • Checking guests’ weight
      • Verifying driver’s license information
      • Ensuring guests fill out waivers, as required.
      • Secure bag check area
      • Other duties as assigned.
    • Escort guests to tour vehicles and ensure timely tour departure.
    • Communicate clearly with tour guides, drivers, supervisors and management.
    • Promote other Icy Strait Point venues, distribute literature and/or sell merchandise.
    • Work as greeters to welcome guests and conduct guest orientations.
    • Participate in all required trainings, including cross training for Tour Sales Representative and Gondola Operator.

    Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

    • Must have Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with ISP guests and others in a professional, friendly and accurate manner. 
    • Prefer experience in the tourism/visitor industry.
    • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.

    Position Summary: The Adventure Park Obstacle Course Outfitter are responsible for instructing and leading assigned participant groups Adventure park (high ropes course), as well as, assisting with equipment fitting.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable
    • Duties & Responsibilities specific to the Adventure Park.
      • Daily opening and closing of the course.
      • Conduct a daily complete inspection of all course components and all gear.
      • Fit guests with gear correctly and supervise the use of all personal safety equipment.
      • Coach participants in proper climbing and aerial trekking technique
      • Lead a safety briefing and demonstration.
      • Enforce all rules and regulations for the Adventure Park.
      • Monitor participants on the courses.
      • Verbally and physically assist participants on courses.
      • Handle at-height rescue situations.
      • Assist in course maintenance, facility cleaning, customer service, and operation tasks when not working at the park.
    • Provide guests with information about the scenery, wildlife, history, culture and geography.

    Requirements:

    Actors provide a leadership role as well as interpretation and narration for guests attending various theater productions. Actors will be cross trained to play all parts in Icy Strait Point Theater Productions and may be required to switch actor assignment schedule if necessary.

    Position Summary:

    Gondola Attendant are responsible for the safety of our guests while they are loading, riding, and unloading our gondola cabins, and responsible for making positive contact with ISP guests.  You will be spending your days outside.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide excellent customer service to all Icy Strait Point guests, including tours.
    • Load and unload guests on the different gondola stations, aiding mobility challenged guests in the safe loading/unloading into the cabins.
    • Inform Operator or Supervisor of abnormal or unusual conditions that may adversely affect the safety of the gondola operation.
    • Handle crowd control in gondola queue areas.
    • Monitors and controls gondola unload area.
    • Maintain cleanliness on loading and off-loading area and maze throughout the day.
    • Ensure all shut-down procedures are followed, no passengers left on gondola, and that cabins is ready to operate next day.

    Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

    The overriding responsibility of a bear safety employee is to SAFELY provide a high-quality experience for anyone being transported by bus and on foot at the Spasski Bear Trail, or the ISP Hiking Trail. Bear Safety staff are expected to be able to provide interpretation and narration for guests on bear excursions and answer occasional questions.

    Responsibilities:

    Summary:

    Bear Safety Supervisors are responsible for all aspects of successfully operating safe sites assigned and responsible for business outcomes, including productivity and profitability.  Bear Safety Supervisors will be responsible for reporting tour activity to management and holding their unit responsible for the highest quality customer service, safe practices and tour delivery.  This position will collaborate closely with excursions leadership team and facilities to ensure objectives of each are achieved/

    • Bear Safety Supervisors will hire, train and supervise a specific team of employees whose function is to deliver high quality tours within their Independent Business Unit.

    • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws as related to their unit.
    • Responsible for maintenance records of equipment.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years working in the tourism industry, preferably in Alaska, with emphasis in safety or wildlife management.

Public area attendant promotes a positive image of the site to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should also able to address guest requests and problems.     • Cleans interior of buildings, outside site spaces and restrooms.
