Wáa sá iyatee,

This means “hello, how are you” in Tlingit. We are excited you are looking into the opportunities we have at Icy Strait Point. We are Alaska Native owned-and-operated. Icy Strait Point located in the community of Hoonah.  Hoonah is a community of about 900 people on Chichagof Island, located in Alaska's panhandle in the Southeast region of the state. It is 30 miles west of Juneau, across the Alaskan Inside Passage. Hoonah is an extraordinary place: from the breathtaking views to the peaceful surroundings and the amazing, warm, caring people. On this island, there is so much to explore and so much history to learn.

Our Motto at Icy Strait Point is Native Tlingit Culture, Unspoiled Wilderness, and Alaska Sized Adventure.  Icy Strait Point employees provide our guests with Friendly hospitality, authentic experiences, and a professional clean environment.  We work hard to take care of our guests and we take care of each other too.  We offer meaningful work that directly ties to our parent company's (Huna Totem Corporation) vision: "We envision a future where the economic and cultural achievements of the Xuna Kaawu are recognized as the standard of excellence in the advancement of Native people." Huna Totem shareholders and descendants are the Tlingit people with ties to Glacier Bay and Hoonah. Our mission is to benefit them economically and culturally. Our non-profit wing, Huna Heritage Foundation, is focused on providing scholarships, preserving, and archiving the cultural history, and supporting community outreach programs.

No matter what motivated you to inquire about working at Icy Strait Point, you will find many fulfilling experiences and opportunities. Enjoy your journey and Át axwdishée ixwsateení ch'a yóok'. (We hope to see you soon)
