Looking for a summer job with a view like no other? Join our team as a Gondola Attendant and help guests safely experience one of Icy Strait Point’s most exciting attractions. From welcoming passengers to assisting with safe boarding and unloading, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth, safe, and memorable gondola rides up Alaska’s breathtaking landscape.

What You’ll Do

  • Safely load and unload passengers while providing excellent guest service.

  • Monitor and guide passenger use of gondola cabins, assisting as needed.

  • Respond appropriately to unusual conditions by assisting, slowing, or stopping the lift.

  • Report any abnormal or unsafe conditions to the Gondola Operator.

  • Help maintain clean, safe, and orderly loading/unloading areas.

  • Support emergency procedures and assist with evacuations if necessary.

  • Keep gondola cabins clean (windows, seating, floors) and maintain loading zones.

  • Share knowledge of local wildlife, culture, and scenery with guests.

  • Promote other Icy Strait Point experiences and venues.

  • Work individually and as part of a close-knit team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong commitment to safety first in all situations.

  • Friendly, patient, and clear communicator (with kids, adults, and groups).

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all kinds of weather.

  • Physically able to move in/out of gondola cabins throughout the day, climb, stand, and lift 25+ lbs.

  • Not afraid of heights – you’ll be working at elevations up to 1,600 ft.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Willing to live and work in a remote Alaskan community for the season.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing (safety-sensitive position).

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Tlingit culture (including a Tlingit Introduction).
