☕ WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Craft Quality Beverages: Prepare delicious coffee, tea, and specialty drinks with consistency, precision, and care.

  • Learn Specialty Techniques: Develop your skills and master the unique drink-making techniques used at our coffee bars.

  • Deliver Outstanding Guest Service: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional service—even during the morning rush.

  • Process Transactions: Accurately ring up purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

  • Keep Things Running Smoothly: Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.

  • Support the Team: Assist with retail cashiering and other operational tasks as needed.

  • Follow Safety Standards: Adhere to all applicable food handling, sanitation, health, and safety procedures.

  • Pitch In: Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily operations.

  • A dependable, punctual, and adaptable team player.

  • A willingness to learn new beverage preparation techniques and follow established procedures.

  • The ability to remain on your feet for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Previous barista, food service, or retail experience is a plus, but not required.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a TAPS card and an Alaska Food Worker Card.

  • A willingness to live and work in a remote Alaskan community, with travel by ferry or small plane and the possibility of gravel roads and unpredictable weather.


💪 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand and move around for extended periods.

  • Climb stairs throughout the workday.

  • Lift up to 40 pounds when necessary.

  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced food and beverage environment.

  • Maintain cleanliness and follow food safety and sanitation procedures.

  • Adapt to changing operational needs and seasonal guest demand.

Remote Location: Hoonah is a rural Alaskan community. Employees must be comfortable with remote living, travel by ferry or small plane, gravel roads, and changing weather conditions.
