As a Zip Rider Operator at Icy Strait Point, you’ll help guests experience the thrill of riding the world’s largest ZipRider! Suspended high above the forest, traveling more than a mile, and reaching speeds of up to 60 mph, this incredible attraction delivers an unforgettable rush—and you’ll help make every ride safe, smooth, and memorable.

You’ll play a vital role in preparing guests for their ride, checking safety equipment, managing harnesses, and providing friendly, professional service. From the first safety check to the final landing, your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help guests feel confident as they take on an adventure of a lifetime.

🪂 WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Put Safety First: Follow all established safety procedures and operating protocols to help ensure every guest has a safe experience.

  • Secure Every Guest: Fit and secure guests into their harnesses at the top tower and assist with their release at the bottom tower, according to established procedures.

  • Complete Two-Check Safety Verifications: Follow the required two-check process to verify that each guest is properly secured before departure.

  • Keep Operations Moving: Transport harnesses between towers and help maintain an organized, efficient operation.

  • Welcome and Inform Guests: Communicate clearly with guests, answer questions, and help them feel prepared for their ride.

  • Share the ISP Experience: Provide information about Icy Strait Point, its history, tours, venues, and other guest experiences.

  • Promote the Destination: Distribute ISP literature, promote other venues, and sell merchandise when assigned.

  • Stay Trained and Prepared: Participate in all required training sessions, safety meetings, and operational briefings.

  • Support Your Team: Work collaboratively with fellow operators and perform other duties as assigned.

🎯 WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years old for top tower operations; applicants must be at least 16 for bottom tower operations, subject to applicable requirements and assignment eligibility.

  • Safety Mindset: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following safety procedures consistently.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, patiently, and professionally with guests and coworkers.

  • Guest Service: A friendly, welcoming attitude and the ability to help guests of different ages feel comfortable and informed.

  • Physical Readiness: Ability to lift 25 pounds or more, stand for extended periods, and walk more than five miles daily.

  • Active Work Style: Comfortable with moderate physical activity, including climbing, reaching, and pushing or pulling harness lines.

  • Cultural Awareness: Knowledge of Tlingit culture or a willingness to learn and respectfully present the required Tlingit introduction.

  • Teamwork: Ability to follow instructions, work effectively with others, and remain focused during busy operating periods.

  • Preferred Qualification: Current CPR and First Aid certification.

💪 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds or more.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk more than five miles per day.

  • Comfort with climbing, reaching, and pushing or pulling harness lines.

  • Ability to remain attentive and follow detailed safety procedures throughout the shift.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing Alaska weather conditions.

  • Comfort working at elevated towers and around significant heights.

  • Ability to work as part of a coordinated team in a fast-paced adventure attraction.
