🛍️ WHAT YOU’LL DO

Create Outstanding Guest Experiences

• Welcome and acknowledge every guest with a friendly, helpful attitude.

• Provide knowledgeable service by learning about our merchandise, products, promotions, and special offers.

• Answer guest questions, respond to requests, and communicate guest feedback to management.

• Help create a welcoming, organized, and enjoyable shopping environment.

Drive Sales & Support Store Operations

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

• Maintain proper cash handling and follow all register procedures.

• Assist with merchandising, floor moves, displays, signage, and pricing.

• Restock merchandise, monitor inventory on the sales floor, and assist with receiving new products.

• Keep sales areas clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the day.

• Follow company policies and store standards, including loss prevention and merchandise accountability.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

• A friendly, guest-focused attitude and a commitment to excellent customer service.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members in English.

• The ability to read, write, count, and complete sales transactions and required documentation accurately.

• Attention to detail when handling merchandise, pricing, signage, and cash transactions.

• A willingness to learn product information, promotions, and store procedures.

• The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

• Flexibility to work extended hours during the busy cruise season.

• Willingness to live and work in a remote, rural community and travel by small plane or ferry.

Retail or cash-handling experience is helpful, but a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn are essential.

💪 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires the ability to:

• Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat as needed.

• Stand for extended periods and climb stairs multiple times throughout the day.

• Lift up to 40 pounds when necessary.

• Work safely in areas that may be noisy or have strong odors.

• Work in buildings that may be unheated.

• Walk or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather.

• Adapt to changing schedules and extended hours during the season.

Remote Location: Icy Strait Point is located in a rural Alaskan community. Employees must be comfortable with remote living and travel by small plane or ferry to and from the area.
