    Commercial Operations Assistant Manager

    $23.00 - $25.00 / hour

    DESCRIPTIONS:

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Commercial Operations Assistant Manager will assist the Commercial Operations Manager by offering leadership and oversight for all rental, retail, tickets, and reservation operations including opening and closing procedures, daily team meetings, weekly safety meetings, weekly scheduling for departments, running daily reservation reports, managing lines on high volume business days, lunch break rotations, and more.   

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

    • Supervise daily operations for the Rental/Retail shop, Tickets, and Reservation Center in accordance with Granby Ranch policies and budget requirements. 
    • Supervise, monitor and verify the activity and work completed by the various departments.  
    • Assist the Commercial Operations Manager interview and hire team members for Tickets, Reservations, Rentals, and Retail.  
    • Assist the Commercial Operations Manager train all department team members with up-to-date training manuals. 
    • Complete daily close-outs- accurately check deposits and banks, charges, voids/refunds, discounts of the revenue departments, creating an environment in which the staff must be accountable for their work. 
    • Develop an understanding of the accounting procedures of the various departments.  
    • Create staff scheduling and approve timecards bi-weekly for Rentals/Retail, Tickets, and Reservations,  
    • Assist with development of SOP’s, training and department manuals, conducting training and subsequent documentation.  
    • Communicate openly and honestly with the Commercial Operations Manager and staff creating lines of communication between both, helping to maintain consistency with procedures and team members. 
    • Understand and help assist with the various computer software systems and printing mechanics. 
    • Assist with the retail buy, entry of purchase orders, receiving of inventory, tagging and displays. 
    • Accurately complete inventory for the Retail shop on the first of every month. 
    • Accurately complete inventory for the Rental shop by assisting the Rental Technician with weekly/monthly ski gear testing and follow appropriate guidelines.  
    • Maintain rental fleet and inventory including boots, skis, snowboards, poles and snowshoes. 
    • Assist in tracking equipment, inventory, check in and check out processes. 
    • Run all reports for advanced reservations/prepaids for tickets, winter/summer rentals, ski school, and events.  
    • Process season pass sales and issue passes for all winter staff, summer staff, winter season customers, summer season customers, and Granby Ranch Homeowners. 
    • Assist/book Group Sales.  
    • Assist Sales department with wedding tours.  
    • Support Ski and Ride School Director/Manager with daily operations. 
    • Support Club Concierge and Ranch Hall with daily operations.  
    • Maintain an organized, clean, efficient workspace and maintain sanitization throughout the day in accordance with company policy. 
    • Keeping a calm, organized, and positive environment always. 

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

    F&B Station Attendant

    $16.00 - $18.00 / hour

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The F&B Station Attendant is responsible for preparing and cooking recipes and providing a clean and sanitized food and beverage operation for all Granby Ranch establishments. 

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintain an organized, clean, efficient work space and maintain sanitization throughout the day in accordance with COVID-19 regulations and company policy.
    • Maintain professional and accurate preparation and presentation of all food inventories. 
    • Ensure inventory is secure, appropriately stocked, and handled property. 
    • Observe proper cleaning procedures and maintain an impeccably clean and orderly kitchen. 
    • Maintain quality and portion control of all menu items.
    • Comply with all Colorado State Health Codes and all safety requirements. 
    • Clean pots, pans, silverware, plates and other kitchen equipment in a timely manner, daily.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Retail Cashier/Rental Attendant position is responsible for selling all merchandise in Granby Ranch Outfitters, as well as helping in Rentals as needed. The Attendant/Cashier provides friendly, fast, and efficient service to all Granby Ranch guests. This position assists with monthly inventory counts, keeping products stocked on the floor and communicates items to be replenished to supervisor, techs skis and snowboards, and fits guests with the appropriate equipment.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Accurately process purchases utilizing point of sale system      and process payment with efficiency.
    • Accountable for monetary exchanges at the cash register including cash handling, processing credit cards, and applying discounts accurately.
    • Assist guests with shopping, helping them with sizing and showing them items available.
    • Stay informed on ski area operations, overall Granby Ranch operations and events.
    • Keep shop and storage room organized, clean and fully stocked at all times. 
    • Maintain an organized, clean, efficient workspace and maintain sanitization throughout the day in accordance with COVID-19 regulations and company policy.
    • Assist guests in all aspects of the rental experience, including setup of ski and snowboard rental equipment, filling out rental forms, adjusting equipment and answering questions.

    Reservation and Ticket Agent

    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    The Reservation and Ticket Agent is responsible for providing personal, responsive and professional service to all guests in selling all aspects of guests’ reservations and products at Granby Ranch. This can include but is not limited to: lessons, lift tickets, rental equipment, season passes and other products as they become available.

    • Provide information, answer questions, manage changes to reservations, handle complaints and assist each guest regarding activities, tickets, lift and trail access, and general information about the Granby Ranch area.
    • Answer telephone in a timely fashion, answer questions, make reservations, and manage changes and cancellations to existing reservations in a friendly, professional manner.
    • As assigned, respond to e-mail requests for new reservations and information.
    • Determine client needs using active listening skills and needs determination questions – provide information and available options for client to make an informed decision regarding vacation planning.
    • Maintain current knowledge of weather and snow conditions, Resort general information, Resort products & promotions, lodging packages, Resort & local events special events.
    • Sell lift tickets, rental equipment, and ski school lessons daily.
    • Process coupons and promotions as required.
    • Process credit card cash transactions and adhere strictly to guest and other privacy policies.
    • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are in place and adhered to at all times.
    • Organize prepaid reservation packets for the following day.
    • Complete closing procedures for individual selling stations.
    • Work with other departments to ensure goals are met and processes are effective.
    • Keep a calm, organized, and positive environment at all times.

    Mountain Operations

    Ski Patrollers

    $18.00 - $21.50 / hour
    Granby

    Granby Ranch is looking for experienced and motivated individuals to join our Ski Patrol team for the upcoming winter season. We are looking for responsible people who love to be outdoors with or with Ski Patrol specific experience and have current OEC, W-EMT or EMT-B certification. There will also be specific testing requirements to be completed upon hire and based on experience. As a Ski Patroller at Granby Ranch you are responsible for providing medical care and emergency services to the guests or employees on our mountain as well as completing winter ski trail maintenance. A successful candidate for this role has completed Granby Ranch Rookie Ski Patrol Training or has previous Ski Patrol experience. 


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

    • Patrols, on skis, ski trails and slope areas to aid and protection to skiers and report condition of trails, ski lifts, and snow cover on slopes. 
    • Completes Patrol opening and closing procedures to ensure trails are compliant with all current safety standards and company safety policies 
    • Provides proficient medical care or first aid in emergency operations and notifies medical personnel in case of serious injury 
    • Understands all medical transport procedures and transports injured skiers using a toboggan when necessary 
    • Trains continuously on Granby Ranch Ski Patrol operational standards and maintains knowledge of, complies with, and educates on the Ski Safety Act and Granby Ranch safety policies 
    • Responsible for promptly and accurately completing all incident forms and involves an Incident Investigator or Supervisor when necessary 
    • Responsible for a high level of guest service and can demonstrate a high level of confidence with guest interaction including when disciplinary actions are necessary. 
    • Completed dispatch training and shadowing and able to be scheduled dispatch shifts as needed 
    • Other duties as assigned 

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: 

    • Ski at an expert level - Able to ski all Granby Ranch terrain (minimum blue level) with good judgment, control, and confidence 
    • Operate a snowmobile effectively and with good judgement 
    • Strong problem-solving skills, organizational and prioritization skills, and memorization ability 
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills 
    • Mathematical reasoning is helpful 
    • Speak, read, and write in English 

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:  

    • Current OEC, WEMT or EMT- B Certification 
    • Current CPR/AED Card 
    • Has or will completed the following training requirements or is able to do so upon hire: 
    • Written Snowmobile Exam 
    • Qualified Climber Program 
    • Standard Chairlift Evacuation 
    • Pass Ski and Toboggan Competency Evaluation 

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:  

    • Can work outside while standing or skiing in a high alpine, wintery environment for up to 10 hours 
    • Able to lift 10-25 pounds 2/3rds of the time or more, able to lift 50 pounds 1/3 to 2/3rds of the time, able to lift 100 pounds up to 1/3rd of the time 
    • Can perform the following activities constantly: walking, using hands to finger/feel, reaching with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear 
    • Vision Requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus 
    • Withstand high altitude conditions at all times 
    • You will work mostly outside in a cold, snowy, high alpine environment frequently faced with wet and/or humid conditions. Most work is completed in view of customers and customer interaction is frequent. Riding a chairlift is required for this role. 

    Granby Ranch Ski Patrol Program 

    Granby Ranch Ski Patrollers are eligible for a staging program based on experience which relates to applicable pay. Staging requirements and related skills are listed below:  Ski Patrol Level 1 Requirements above plus the following 

    • Competent ski and toboggan handling on both East and West Mountains 
    • Recognizes and addresses problems with emergency care equipment 
    • Able to recognize and address required trail work standards as set by the Ski Area, Skier Safety Act, Insurance Company, and Ski Area Counsel. 
    • Understands and completes snow fencing operations 
    • Completed snowmobile ride along to prepare for Advanced Snowmobile test 

    Ski Patrol Level 2 

    All Level 1 responsibilities/skills plus the following 

    • Leads trainings on basic Patrol skills (i.e., knots, closures, opening procedures, standard lift evacuation) 
    • Accompanied senior Patrollers in extreme terrain and has passed or prepared for Advanced Ski Test 
    • Acts as a basic responder in the following situations: lift evacuation, avalanche rescue, disaster, technical rescue, helicopter evacuation, lightning, out of bounds search and rescue, skier-skier collisions ,10:33, and missing persons 
    • Can Lead as a Lift Evacuation Sector Coordinator  
    • Performs effectively and professionally as a team member on mitigation routes and participates in decision making during route 
    • Actively leads others and shows initiative in organizing and documenting training, work projects, and specific additional responsibilities such as helping other departments at Granby Ranch and acting as liaison for special events 
    • Acts as a positive role model for training and performance in guest relations 
    • Plays an active role in daily guest relations regarding guest information 
    • Two – Three years Ski Patrol experience required 

    Ski Patrol Lead 

    Level 1 or 2 responsibilities/skills plus described responsibilities for the following: 

    • Actively leads others and shows initiative in organizing and documenting training, work projects, and specific additional responsibilities such as helping other departments at Granby Ranch and acting as liaison for special events 
    • Acts as a positive role model for training and performance in guest relations 
    • Plays an active role in daily guest relations regarding guest information (slider boards, electronic messaging, website) 
    • Ensures that work is completed effectively and efficiently by the Ski Patrol department 
    • Takes AI photos, measurements, and can complete all AI documentation 
    • Demonstrates competency in implementing all emergency operations 
    • Manages areas of concern on the mountain 
    • Voluntarily spends equal time and effort on all levels of terrain 

    EMS Lead: 

    • Liaison with the Local Medical Director and EMS 
    • Lead Incident Investigator 
    • Medical Supply i.e., ordering, stocking, and rotation 
    • Adm. Files on computer 
    • Leads by example and maintains a high standard of proficiency in all skills and is able to train other Patrollers in all aspects of the job 

    Training Lead: 

    • Ski and Toboggan trainer 
    • OEC Medical Trainer, CPR trainer and Liaison with NSP 
    • Keeper of Training Records and Certifications 
    • Leads by example and maintains a high standard of proficiency in all skills and is able to train other Patrollers in all aspects of the job 

    Safety Lead: 

    • On Mountain Route Safety 
    • Understands and completes snow fencing | boundary Lines | Rope operations

    Granby Ranch is looking for ski and snowboard instructors of all levels for the Winter 2023-2024 season! Our instructors provide our guests with exceptional learning experiences in the skills of skiing and/or snowboarding. While this position includes both indoor and outdoor operations, instructors will primarily be outdoors and are required to create a lesson plan. You will be working directly with guests of all ages (3 and older). This position requires appropriate communication and a welcoming demeanor with customers.  

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Teach quality skiing/snowboarding lessons as assigned, following standard PSIA-AASI progressions.
    • Attend training clinics as scheduled.
    • Report to class line-ups as scheduled and on time.

    Mountain Operations

    Snowmaker

    $20.00 - $22.00 / hour
    Granby

    The Snowmaking Technician is responsible for staging guns and hose as directed by Slope Maintenance Management and subsequently checking and adjusting all running equipment continuously throughout shift. The snowmaking position requires strenuous physical work outdoors during overnight shifts in cold and sometime extreme weather conditions while working with fan guns.  

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Check and adjust snow guns to maintain snow quality regularly.
    • Operate snowmobiles and UTV/ATV that may be towing snowmaking equipment or pulling hoses.
    • Hook up and clean out snowmaking hoses and equipment regularly.
    • Ensure safety requirements are met and adhered to.
    • Stage hose and guns utilizing snowmobile, UTV as necessary. Hiking through tree islands in wet, heavy, deep snow will be required.
    • Move and fluff hose as directed by supervisor and to ensure it is not buried or frozen during shift.
    • Move, redirect, and maintain snow guns as directed by supervisor and to ensure it is not frozen, buried or pointed in the wrong direction due to wind. Requires removing ice and snow using hand tools.
    • Conduct system start up and shut down following protocols and supervisor direction exactly every time.
    • Communicate at the end of each shift to inform supervisor/director of progress during shift.
    • Communicate any mechanical, hydraulic, or other issues to supervisor immediately.
    • Communicate any damage sustained to snowmobile, UTV/ATV, or other equipment during shift immediately to Director.
    • Keep the supervisor informed of all situations and status throughout the shift.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Act as a positive, professional role model, adhering to the company’s hospitality standards.
    • Maintain an exceptional level of guest service in all interaction with guests, fellow employees, and management.

    • Must be physically capable to perform strenuous exercise at 8,000-10,000 feet with adverse weather conditions including working with high pressure water and air.
    • Must be able to work overnight shift.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Dexterity and strength for utilizing hand tools including mallets, large wrenches, operating snowmobiles, connecting hoses to fittings in cold, wet conditions.
    • Excellent verbal, auditory and visual abilities necessary for communication with others in the dark, while using helmets, radios, and working around loud equipment.
    • Provide own clothing and accessories necessary for work outdoors in high alpine winter environment.
    • Walking, Kneeling, Squatting, Climbing (ladders), Reaching, Grabbing, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Sitting, Standing, on uneven, sometimes icy, steep slopes, in variable snow conditions.
