  • Associate Housing Supervisor

    $15.00 / hour

    Delaware North Parks and Resorts is seeking a full-time Associate Housing Supervisor to join our team at Grand Canyon National Park in Grand Canyon, Arizona. As an Associate Housing Supervisor you will be directly responsible to oversee 8 housing associates in operations for all associate housing areas, uniforms and transportation needs.

    Responsibilities 

    • Supervise, train and direct up to 8 housing assistants to ensure all housing policies are followed.
    • Assist staff with cleaning housing, laundry facilities and common areas as needed.
    • Assign associates to housing units and schedule associate move in/move out dates.
    • Create calendar, coordinate associate activities and provide transportation for appointments.
    • Work closely with maintenance department for repairs and work orders.
    • Maintain orderly, accurate uniform inventory and work with housing manager to maintain stock.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications 

    • High School graduate or GED and a minimum of 2 years as housekeeping supervisor or similar experience required. 
    • Must be able to communicate, speak, write and read English language. 
    • Ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations and basic knowledge of computer. 
    • Valid driver’s license with ability to safely operate company vehicle while observing all rules and regulations under varying inclement weather conditions required. 
    • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools and fixtures.
    • Ability to work quickly under pressure, follow directions, provide instructions, motivate staff and resolve issues.
    • Must pass MVR and drug test as part of pre-employment background check. 

    Physical Requirements 

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds including furniture and equipment. 
    • Physical and manual dexterity for constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, lifting, repetitive motion and climbing stairs and step stool. 
    • Exposure to and use of chemicals required to clean housing, bathrooms, floors, laundry facilities and kitchens.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at desk and/or computer. 
    • Visual acuity sufficient to see and distinguish currency and reports.
    • Ability to communicate through use of 2-way radio. 
    • Will be subject to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain and snow.

  • Buffet Food Server

    $13.85 / hour

    The Opportunity

    Responsibilities 

    • Greet guests and provide excellent customer service while serving food from the buffet line.
    • Communicate professionally and courteously with guests and kitchens staff. 
    • Open and close areas, retrieve food and stock supplies to maintain inventory. 
    • Clean and organize service and kitchen areas and wash dishes.
    • Bus tables, sweep, mop, dust, and clean up spills and empty garbage in a sanitary manner.
    • Must move rapidly and coordinate multiple food orders with sense of urgency.

    Qualifications 

    • Previous related experience in a guest service environment preferred. 
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills with attention to detail.

    Physical Requirements 

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to withstand variable temperatures, depending on the season such as a hot, damp, or very cold environment.
    • Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions, occasional use of stairs. 
    • Manual dexterity to grasp items, ability to maneuver between tables, may carry large food trays. 
    • Exposure to, and use of chemicals required to clean and sanitize areas, surfaces and equipment.

    • Greet and provide information to guests while using suggestive selling techniques.
    • Serve food and beverages in correct proportions, and follow proper sanitation guidelines.
    • Participate in the opening, clean up, closing procedures, and inventory. Notify supervisor of deficiencies. 
    • Process POS and cash sales, provide receipts and accurate change. 
    • Account for all transactions; maintain accurate cash count and balance bank at end of shift.
    • Other duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications 

    • Ability to communicate with guests and staff, and provide friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Ability to work effectively while alone and in a team. 
    • Requires basic math skills.
    • Must be comfortable handling cash and working with inventory. 

    Physical Requirements 

    • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds. 
    • Ability to stand the entire length of shift with frequent bending, stooping, carrying, walking, and reaching.
    • Requires manual dexterity to repeatedly grasp and move items. 
    • Exposure to and use of chemicals required to clean and sanitize equipment, surfaces, and areas.

    • Responsible for training, compliance, store cleanliness and purchasing. 
    • Supervise deli operations including food handling and prep, cashier, guest service, stock and inventory. 
    • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.

    Qualifications 

    • Experience working in a fast-paced food environment with at least two years of supervisory experience preferred.

    • Be comfortable with employee relations to direct staff, implement and reinforce rules and procedures. 
    • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Physical Requirements 

    • Requires ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
    • Will stand and walk for the entire length of shift, bend, swat, twist at the waist, manual dexterity to grasp items. 
    • Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet and may require the use of step stool or ladder. 
    • Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, stock, work with mops and brooms.
    • Exposure to and use of chemicals to clean and sanitize equipment and areas. 
    • Exposure to normal kitchen dangers including cuts, scrapes, burns and scalds.

    Responsibilities 

    • Handle all cuisine in accordance with health and sanitation standards and ensure team does the same. 
    • Execute menu items and coordinate with the expediter, prepare pantry menu items per recipes and standards.
    • Respond to guest and associate concerns and requests to provide highest standard of service.
    • Stock food items as needed; label and rotate food items, maintain a clean and organized pantry at all times.
    • Manage physical inventory, create and work with purchase orders.
    • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Qualifications 

    • Understanding of USDA food code, including food storage hierarchy, first in first out, pest exclusion and labeling.
    • Basic knowledge of inventory management  such as food cost, cost of goods sold, and inventory shrink.
    • Familiarity with creating and receiving purchase orders, entering physical inventory, and inventory transfers.
    • Working knowledge of Birchstreet, or experience with similar procurement systems.
    • Requires high level attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Must be good with numbers and math.
    • ServSafe food handling certified or the ability to obtain certificate within 30 days of hire. 

    Physical Requirements 

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Standing and walking for entirety of shift in a fast paced and busy environment.
    • Frequently required to reach up to 6 to 7 feet, twist at waist, bending, squatting and grasping with hands.

As a Food Service Cashier, you will facilitate all transactions using acceptable methods of payment of the restaurant, collaborate with dining staff, and keep track of all orders while providing excellent guest service at all times.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinates daily activities, assigns and plans staffing to ensure cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas.
    • Inspects guest rooms and public outlets daily to ensure quality, completes reports. 
    • Ensures all maintenance requests are handled for guest rooms and department equipment.
    • Prepares the weekly inventory, checks in all supplies, and reports any discrepancies.
    • Assists with cleaning duties to cover staff shortages, and provides direct training to associates. 
    • Ensures safe work environment by following all company safety and security policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications 

    • Requires six months of previous housekeeping experience preferably in commercial cleaning or guest service.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Ability to work quickly under pressure, with high attention to detail.
    • Follow instructions, read, write, and effectively communicate in English. 
    • Basic computer knowledge and ability to make math calculations.
    • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and tools.

    Physical Requirements 

    • Requires ability to lift and carry 35 pounds with constant walking and standing for entire length of shift.
    • Frequent climbing of stairs, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying items. 
    • Use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete cleaning tasks.
    • Frequent exposure to varied outdoor climate including wind, sun, heat, cold, rain and snow. 
    • Exposure to and use of chemicals to clean and sanitize rooms, areas and equipment.

  • Housing Assistant

    $13.85 / hour

    The Opportunity 

    Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring full-time Housing Assistants to join our team at Grand Canyon National Park in Grand Canyon, Arizona. As a Housing Assistant, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the housing facilities in line with company regulations at the property. You will also serve as a back up driver transporting associates as needed. You will ensure that guests receive the highest quality of service throughout their visit at Grand Canyon National Park.

    Responsibilities 

    • Respond to housing and guest requests and needs; take the appropriate action in a timely manner.

    • Performs regular maintenance on heating and cooling units.
    • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical malfunctions, installs, replaces, or repairs damaged equipment, and calibrates thermostatic controls.
    • Installs new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating.

    Responsibilities 

    • Provide excellent customer service to greet and register guests in centralized registration system.
    • Handle cash and credit card transactions; maintain bank and accurate paperwork.
    • Check and balance daily figures, post room and tax charges on guest accounts.
    • Deliver items to guests, resolve guest issues and complaints or elevate to supervisor.
    • Coordinate guest and room needs with housekeeping department.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications 

    • Previous customer service experience with mathematical ability preferred.
    • Good interpersonal communication skills in person and by phone.
    • Must function professionally and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    Physical Requirements 

    • Ability to stand and walk entirety of shift, will bend, twist, crouch, push, pull, grasp items, and climb stairs.
    • Occasional lifting 25 pounds. 
    • Visual acuity and manual dexterity to work with computer and paperwork. 
    • Exposure to and use of chemicals required to clean and sanitize work areas.

    Responsibilities 

    • Schedules duties and assists manager with staff training and compliance.
    • Reviews work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety.
    • Ensures proper cash handling and tip record-keeping for the shift.
    • Investigates and resolves complaints regarding food quality, service and accommodations.
    • Perform some service tasks such as assisting guests, stocking shelves, counting inventory, and cashier duties.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications 

    • Restaurant experience required with two years of supervisory experience preferred.
    • Self-motivated, work without direct supervision, embrace challenges and initiates projects and opportunities.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to implement rules and direct staff.
    • Must maintain excellent customer service and employee relations in a faced paced environment. 

    Physical Requirements 

    • Required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Will stand and walk throughout shift with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and grasping. 
    • Will frequently reach over head up to 7 feet.
    • Push and pull occasionally to move equipment, use mops and brooms.
    • May be exposed to normal dangers found in kitchen environment, such as cuts, scrapes, burns and scalds. 
    • Some work may be required outdoors in varying temperatures including cold, wind, rain and heat.
