We are excited that you are considering employment with us. We operate two retail stores inside of the Grand Canyon National Park; Canyon Village Marketplace, Desert View Market, and Trading Post as well as Tusayan General Store, a satellite store located one mile from the park gate in Tusayan, AZ. In 2015, Delaware North expanded its reach to include the Yavapai Lodge. The lodge offers 358 guest rooms, a newly renovated gift shop and front desk area and an expanded food and beverage operation which includes a full-service bar.
We offer opportunities in retail/outdoor sales, grocery/cashiers/supervisors, hotel operations including front desk, housekeepers/inspectors, and food and beverage positions such as cooks, servers, and bartenders. The Grand Canyon attracts people of all ages and backgrounds to live, work and play in one of the wonders of the world.

Room and Board
Not only do we have an opportunity to work at the Grand Canyon, but we have the opportunity to live here as well! Delaware North offers shared dorm-style housing to its associates. Housing is available for employees only. Employees must be 18 years of age to live in company housing. No pets are permitted and due to limited room space, overnight visitors are not allowed.
Delaware North housing comes at a minimal cost, starting at $30 per week per person in shared housing. Housing locations are equipped with two beds and a dresser. Housing locations are equipped with a community kitchen with the necessary major appliances; you will need to provide your own pots/pans/utensils/cutlery and dishes. Laundry facilities are available in/around our housing locations and are free of charge. Internet services are not available in our housing, but there are Wi-Fi access points available throughout the Village.
Associate housing is located a short distance from work locations and can be reached via shuttle buses and paths. A community/wellness center is available inside the park and can be accessed for a minimal monthly fee. The community center offers a work-out center, computers, weekly trips, free internet and many other wellness classes.
Brandt Hall: This is dorm styled living. We have separate wings for men and women. The room size is @ 100 square feet. The room is furnished with a set of bunk beds/twin beds, one shared dresser and a sink. There is one closet in each room. Shower and bathrooms are located in each wing. There is a common room which houses the communal kitchen, laundry and TV area.
Trailer Village: Quad style trailer w/ 4 separate rooms per trailer. Each room is 100 square feet with private bathrooms. Each room is furnished with bunk/twin beds, a shared dresser. There is one closet per room. Trailer village residents have access to a communal trailer which houses the shared kitchen and laundry room. We do have co-ed rooms available in Trailer Village but availability is limited and not guaranteed.
Supervisor Housing: Supervisors are eligible for dorm-style rooms w/kitchenette and private bath in upstairs Brandt Hall or shared apartments in Hualapai. Brandt Hall rooms are furnished with twin beds, dresser, and kitchen appliances. Hualapai Apartments have shared 2 bedroom apartments with kitchen and living room. They are fully furnished, bedroom has queen size bed.
There will be a security deposit of $180. This will be taken out of your first few paychecks in increments of $45 dollars until the $180 has been paid. You are eligible for a refund at the end of your employment.
Technology: Internet service is provided via satellite and is extremely limited. It is slow, unreliable and has a daily threshold of information that can be downloaded. If you need daily access to the internet, Grand Canyon may not be the best fit for you. Cell phone service (Verizon) is intermittent.
MEALS: As an employee, you will receive 50% discount off the menu price in our public restaurants. Most housing locations are equipped with a community kitchen and the necessary major appliances. You will need to provide your own pots/pans/utensils/cutlery and dishes.
RETAIL: 20% discount off retail and grocery (excluding certain items). Rental gear i.e. backpacking equipment at a 50% discount if available.
UNIFORMS: Delaware North will supply uniform hats, shirts, jackets (if job requires), and name badges. The employee will be responsible for bring, pants and shoes.
HEALTH BENEFITS: Full time/year-round eligible associates are also eligible for health, dental and vision insurance, holiday pay.
TUITION BENEFITS: Eligible associates can apply for an annual award of up to $2,500, with a lifetime maximum of $10,000 which will assist associates financially when continuing their education in fields directly related to the company’s lines of business of Hospitality, Business, Hotel/Restaurant Management or Culinary.

Getting Here and Getting Around
From Phoenix, the Arizona Shuttle will take to you the Grand Canyon.
The Flagstaff Airport is located approx. 80 miles from the Grand Canyon. The Flagstaff Express can provide direct transportation from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon.
It is helpful to have a bicycle while working at the Grand Canyon as there are many bike/walking paths throughout the South Rim. There's also free visitor shuttle buses and free employee shuttle buses.
Camping, scenic driving, challenging white water, fishing, and of course hiking are just a few of the attractions of the Grand Canyon National Park. Hiking in this grand, natural museum offers the promise of quiet and solitude, the discovery of nature's improbable secrets and self-discovery. Facing hundreds of miles of trails, and many more miles of possible off-trails routes, hikers can meet the challenges of one of the world's greatest desert canyons.
The indoor community recreation center provides indoor activities such as weightlifting/fitness center, computer room, evening classes, basketball, volleyball and co-ed softball. There is a shuttle that will take you to Tusayan and Flagstaff for shopping, eating and going to the movies (schedule permitting). Grand Canyon village has services that include, restaurants, shopping both retail and grocery, banking, post office, library and medical clinic.
The Grand Canyon National Park is located in northern Arizona. It is surrounded by the Kaibab and Coconino National Forest. The Grand Canyon is 18 miles wide and 227 miles long with an approximate depth of 5,000 feet. The south rim’s elevation is an average of 7,000 feet above sea level. Summer temperatures can range from a high of 84 to a low of 54 degrees Fahrenheit. During winter the temperature ranges from a high of 43 and a low of 18 degrees Fahrenheit. The Grand Canyon is home to 75 species of mammals, 50 species of reptiles, 25 species of fish and over 300 species of birds.
