    Guest Services Agent

    Devil's Thumb Ranch

    Assist the Guest Services Supervisor in maintaining the integrity of Devil’s Thumb Ranch and Guest Services Policies and Standards.  
     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of Devil’s Thumb Ranch with regards to Guest Services, Reservations, Retail, Reporting and Baggage Wrangling at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Assist in the training of existing and new staff members, evaluate how our existing Policies and Standards are meeting and exceeding the needs of our guests. Duties consist, but are not limited to, training, booking reservations, checking guests in and out, providing delivery of bags to rooms, inspecting rooms prior to arrival, assisting with monitoring reservations booked the previous day, monitoring cancelled reservations for the previous day and processing advanced deposits, arranging reservations for dining, spa or stables, arranging reservations for activities, proactively contacting guests prior to arrival to help set a positive impression and inform them of all the properties have to offer, and supporting retail operations within all lodging properties.
     

    Other Duties: Assist the General Manager, Director of Lodging and Guest Services Supervisor. Complete special projects as requested by either.     Physical Demands: Have ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and able to lift/carry 20-30 lbs.  
     

    Education/Experience: 3-5 years of Hospitality experience required. Previous supervisor experience and front desk experience preferred. Ability to communicate accurately and comfortably in the English language. 
     

    Special Skills/Equipment: Basic computer/email knowledge required. Proof or edit documents for spelling, grammar and content. Have the ability to learn lodging reservation system.

    Spa

    Massage Therapist

    Devil's Thumb Ranch

    The Massage Therapist is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of Devil’s Thumb Ranch. The massage therapist will provide all services (excluding facials and waxing) offered at the Ranch Creek Spa. This includes: massage therapy, couple’s treatments, soaks, scrubs, body wraps, hand, foot and scalp treatments. Additionally, the massage therapist is expected to promote retail products related to services provided.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

    • Maintain a professional standard for all services provided
    • Be an active member of the spa team and communicate clearly
    • Available on call at pre-designated shift times
    • Ability to perform all treatments following the protocol guidelines
    • Adhere to spa policies and guidelines
    • Adhere to safety practices 
    • Be able to provide a minimum of 4 services during a shift
    • Begin and end all treatments on time
    • Assess guest needs:
    •  inquire about contraindications, examine muscle tissue to evaluate condition, appearance, and appropriateness of scheduled service. 
    • Treatment rooms must be left neat, clean and sanitized after each service provided
    • Restock supplies in treatment room and dispensary
    • Complete all side work in a timely manner
    • Restock laundry and tidy linens as directed by lead, supervisor or manager
    • Extensive knowledge of products used in all treatments
    • Promote sales of retail products related to services provided
    • Maintain a professional image at all times
    • Adhere to spa uniform guidelines
    • Participate in monthly spa meetings, spa training and team building exercises
    • Be knowledgeable of Ranch wide operation 
    • Promote entire ranch to clients
    • Available weekends and holidays


    Other Duties: 

    The employee is expected to be an ambassador for the ranch and promote its products and services within the community. The employee is not limited to the above responsibilities and may be required to perform other duties throughout the spa and ranch property.

    Requirements

    Spa

    Spa Receptionist

    $17.00 / hour
    Devil's Thumb Ranch

    The Spa Receptionist is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of Devil’s Thumb Ranch. The Spa Receptionist is responsible for greeting clients, booking treatments and making a seamless transition from clients’ check in to check out.
     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

    • Always maintain a professional standard. Uniforms and nametags must be worn.
    • Promote sales of retail products 
    • Promote sales of spa services
    • Greet clients upon arrival
    • Schedule appointments using spa software
    • Notify therapists of appointments
    • Answer phones and transfer appropriately
    • Follow housekeeping procedures for public areas
    • Knowledgeable of all services provided, ability to make suggestions to clients
    • Knowledge of which treatments therapists/estheticians are able to provide
    • Knowledge of treatment rooms and services available in each room
    • Close sales (including services and retail purchases) through POS
    • Ability to take over the phone orders
    • Restock supplies in waiting areas and locker rooms 
    • Remove dirty linens from locker rooms and restock
    • Prepare lockers for guests, including removal of dirty sandals and robes, and replacing with clean robes and sandals
    • Responsible for washing dirty dishes, sandals, facial cloths, and uniforms
    • Adhere to safety practices and policies
    • Participate in monthly spa meetings, spa training and team building exercises
    • Knowledgeable of Ranch wide operation, able to answer questions and make suggestions regarding the property and the county
    • Extensive knowledge of retail products 
    • Report to Spa Supervisor and Spa Manager for daily projects

    Guest Services

    Baggage Wrangler

    $14.00 / hour + tips
    Devil's Thumb Ranch

    Greet guests in porte cache, open vehicle door for passengers, valet park car and deliver luggage and vehicle keys to lodge room, retrieve vehicles for guests departing and load luggage, maintain integrity of front entrance and lobby, provide requested shuttle service, perform room inspections pre and post arrival, follow department and Ranch policies and procedures, assist Agents, Reservation Specialists, Night Auditor and PBX Operator, answer guest questions, be knowledgeable about other departments, be aware of guests and Ranch issues.

    Housekeeping

    Housekeeper

    Devil's Thumb Ranch

    Housekeepers support and assist the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Manager in promoting DTR service standards, serving as a role model for Housekeeping staff as well as maintaining the integrity of the Ranch and Housekeeping operations, policies and standards across all three properties. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Ability to be fully functional in the operations of Housekeeping with regards to cleaning rooms at all Devil’s Thumb Ranch properties
    • Ability to be fully functional in the operations of Housekeeping duties according to DTR service standards, including, but not limited to:
    • Removing linens
    • Making beds
    • Dusting
    • Mopping
    • Sweeping
    • Vacuuming
    • Trash removal
    • Carpet cleaning
    • Restocking housekeeping supplies 
    • Cleaning windows
    • Prompt delivery of items requested by guests
    • Making guests feel welcome and “at home”
    • Being knowledgeable about other departments offerings and hours
    • Inspecting rooms prior to arrival, completing any cleaning needed
    • Continually uphold top service and cleanliness standards at DTR, VCI and Trailhead.
    • Cross train with Commons and Housepeople in order to be able to assist wherever necessary.
    • Uphold Ranch Service Standards at all times. Make recommendations to Management if they are not.


    Other Duties: 

    • Willing and able to work all shifts as necessary to ensure proper coverage
    • Willing to be flexible with start and end time of shifts to ensure proper coverage.

    Groundskeeper

    Devil's Thumb Ranch

    To Groundskeeper assists in all Ranch operations by offering outstanding guest services and contributing to all Outdoor Facilities responsibilities in a safe and timely manner.
     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • General maintenance of Ranch operations.  To include but not limited to landscaping, trash removal, recycling process, lawn mowing/care, irrigation, snow removal, firewood preparation, etc.
    • Assist with agricultural needs such as fencing, cattle handling, haying operation, and agricultural irrigation, stable activities, etc.
    • Assist in all Ranch operations to provide the very best in guest services and safety to our guests. 
    • Consistently provide exceptional guest experiences for all visitors to the Ranch. 
    • Assist in daily housekeeping of Maintenance Barn and Yard.
    • Able and willing to cross train in all Ranch operations.
    • Assist in on-going training of animal care and employee training.
    • Actively involved with program development through personal experiences. 
    • Report and aid repair of unsafe conditions throughout the Ranch.
    • Be an ambassador for the Ranch in promoting all other departments during guest interactions.
    • Lead in construction of all new fences and maintenance of existing fence.
    • Ability to lift 100 lbs. on a routine basis.
    • Assist in cutting lawns and native grasses by operating a power mower and trimmers.
    • Assist in trimming edges, and weeds around walks, flower beds and retaining walls.
    • Assist in pruning of all flowers, shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches or twigs.
    • Assist in applying spray to lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
    • Assist in snow removal operations to include but not limited to shoveling, running a snow blower, truck plow, and large loader
    • Assist in raking and bagging leaves and other debris.
    • Assist with watering lawns, shrubs, trees, flower pots, baskets, and beds.
    • Able and willing to drive a truck and trailer safely and effectively.
    • Able to safely and effectively drive a manual transmission vehicle. 
    • Assist with rototilling and prepare flower beds for planting.
    • Assist co-workers with education of plant identification and health.
    • Assist with maintenance of greenhouse(s).

    Culinary

    Line Cook

    $18.00 / hour
    Devil's Thumb Ranch

    The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation, inventory and maintenance of assigned stations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Responsible for knowledge of menu, use of approved recipes to prepare menu items and proper plate presentation.
    • Mise en place (preparation and organization of assigned stations). This entails set up and thorough cleaning at end of shift.
    • Knowledge of proper storage and handling of food. Knowledge of health codes.
    • Proper dating and labeling of food.
    • Establishing and maintaining pas levels and prep list.
    • Must be able to multi-task and plan effectively.
    • Support and contribute to the mission and overall success of the resort by accomplishing performance objectives focused on preparation of food.
    • Line Cooks will complete open and closing side work.
    • Ensure Ranch Mission is executed. 
    • Follow safety precautions and procedures


    Other Duties: 

    • as assigned by Executive Chef or Sous Chef
    • Knowledge of Events and Ranch Wide areas of the property.


    Requirements

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

    Personal Attributes: able to follow direction and work under minimal supervision at times. Must be a team player and cooperate effectively with other staff members. 

    Physical Demands: Lifting up to 75 pounds, general cleaning, set up, walking a lot etc.

    Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one year prior experience in a professional restaurant kitchen environment required. Culinary degree preferred.

    Special Skills/Equipment: High level of communication skills, commitment to quality, multitasking, attention to detail, cleanliness, knowledge of food safety, time management, organization, interpersonal skills.
