About Togwotee Mountain Lodge

Located at the base of Angle Mountain and spread over 88 acres, Togwotee Mountain Lodge (TML) offers 88 guest rooms (54 cabins, 28 lodge rooms, and 6 suites), casual dining experiences at the Red Fox Saloon or Grizzly Grill, a Fireside Lounge that includes a fireplace and pool table, and stunning views of the Teton Mountain Range from the property! We also offer guide opportunities with our sister properties Teton Tour Company (snowmobile), Scenic Safaris (snowmobile in the winter and ATV in the summer) and Mad River Boat Tours in Jackson, WY.

In the winter season (December through April), we offer extensive snowmobiling, including extreme riding in the 2.5 million acres of land surrounding us with over 600 miles of groomed trails. We also offer dog sledding onsite! Several employees bring equipment to enjoy snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding in the National Forest. Additionally, we have opportunities out of Jackson, WY with the Teton Tour Company and Scenic Safaris. 

In the summer season (May through October), we take advantage of the warmer weather with all types of outdoor activities, for guests and employees alike. TML provides horseback riding on site, ranging from one hour to overnight beginner rides. During your time off, there is plenty to do in the Jackson Hole valley such as fishing, hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, float trips, and covered wagon cookouts. Hiking opportunities are endless in this region with the Bridger Teton National Forest and Wind River Mountains out our front door, the Teton Wilderness out our back door, Grand Teton National Park located 20 minutes west, and Yellowstone about an hour from our location. Additionally, we have opportunities out of Jackson, WY with Mad River Boat Tours. 

Between our seasons, during the months of April and November, we continue to employ a few housekeepers, maintenance, and our management staff.

The Employee Experience

Being an employee at Togwotee Mountain Lodge is unlike any experience you have had so far – guaranteed! Our commitment to service and the friendliness of our staff, combined with the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, ensures that your time at Togwotee will be unmatched.

Our staff size varies from season to season, with 80 employees in the summer and 120 employees in the winter. Although we are considered a seasonal operation, staying for more than one season is easy to accomplish, and you will still get the off-season to travel before the next season begins.

Togwotee is a "gateway to adventure." You can easily be surrounded by nature with no other person in sight. There are some nearby spectacular scenic roads that allow you to be secluded without the fear of getting lost, and you can't forget that two of the best national parks in the country are a stone's throw away!

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate has a strong customer service attitude, positive mindset, welcoming energy, and a desire to learn and grow. You're someone who is comfortable living and working in our remote location and excited to provide memorable experiences for all guests and clients.

Some general qualifications include:

  • A customer service attitude and a desire to learn
  • Must be willing to relocate to Togwotee Mountain Lodge
  • Previous experience in the desired position is preferred
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule for the season including weekends, holidays, overtime, and varied days off
  • Must be 18 or older to work in any of the positions unless otherwise noted
  • Snowmobile and groomers must be 21 or older, comfortable working in the snow and snowy conditions; as well as working outdoors for long hours in all weather conditions
  • Servers must meet the state legal age requirements to serve alcohol
  • Strong English communication skills are required
  • Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s license to operate company vehicles, carts, etc.
  • Understands there is no cell phone reception (Wi-Fi available)

Room and Board

FREE HOUSING FOR THE SUMMER 2023 SEASON!


Togwotee offers room and board for our staff at a nominal cost, however, room including utilities are FREE this season. Board is $100/pay period (bi-weekly), which includes three meals a day in our Employee Dining Room. 

Employee housing is dorm-style: two individuals per room with a bathroom in each room. Some rooms have a chair, a small table/counter space, and possibly a microwave and TV. In an attempt to pair individuals with similar interests, a Housing Questionnaire is sent to each employee before the season begins. Once the season begins there is little to no swapping rooms. Employees are expected to live in a hospitable manner with their roommate(s).

A $125 cash deposit is due at the time of check-in. The rooms are inspected mid-season as well as check-out. Employees will be refunded their full deposit, minus any housing damages when they check out of their room.

Employees of Teton Tour Company and Sands Whitewater Rafting are not eligible for housing at Togwotee Mountain Lodge and will need to secure their own living arrangements in or near Jackson, WY.

Employee Perks

Employees receive a 30% discount on meals in both the restaurant and saloon. You’ll also receive 30% off all gift shop items that display a Togwotee logo; all other gift shop items are 20% off. Convenience store items are 20% off except for alcohol and tobacco; discounts on gas are also given. In the winter, snowmobile rentals are discounted. Employees also receive discounts on lodging at certain times; please see the Director of Lodging for details.

An end-of-season monetary bonus is given to hourly employees who exemplify the Togwotee standards. To be eligible for the bonus, employees must complete the entire season or their agreed upon employment date.  Your bonus is dependent on resort financial performance throughout the season, length of employment, and managerial discretion. The typical summer bonus is $300 for working the entire season.

Summer activities like horseback rides, cookouts, whitewater rafting, and float trips are discounted; more information is given at orientation.

Full-time year-round employees can choose to sign up for health benefits and 401K investments. There is a required waiting period for the benefits and will be covered in more detail during the hiring process.

Getting Here and Getting Around

TML will provide transportation from the town of Jackson or the Jackson Hole Airport to Togwotee Mountain Lodge to begin the season and at the completion of employment contract date. 

Jackson Hole Airport is located 40 miles from us. The airport code is JAC. Idaho Falls (IDA) is the next closest airport, then Salt Lake City (SLC).

The Salt Lake Express is a shuttle service from Salt Lake City though Idaho Falls and into Jackson daily. Check their website for current rates and schedules.  Please note that this may be the cheapest option for getting to Jackson.

No major bus line stops in Jackson Hole. Greyhound can get you to the Salt Lake Express in Salt Lake City or Idaho Falls. Plan accordingly if you are changing bus lines to get to Jackson Hole on the express.

For Fun

Employee trips, with transportation, are provided by the lodge; we go to Yellowstone, Jackson, and various remote points of interest in the National Forest for fishing, hiking, sightseeing, and relaxing.
