    Line Cooks prepare and cook food using fryers, ovens, stoves, grills, flat tops, salad (cold) stations, and other kitchen equipment; strive to exceed customer expectations, follow recipes, prep and monitor level of food items, clean and sanitize work stations, prepare food items as ordered by guests, clean kitchens, wash dishes, and other duties as assigned. We are looking for applicants who are reliable, punctual, can follow safe food handling procedures, can multi-task while providing exceptional customer service, and who enjoy working in a fast paced kitchen environment.

    Environment: This is an indoor position which includes working in a hot kitchen. Must be able to stand for entire shift and regularly lift/carry 75lbs.  

    Qualifications: Experience as a cook is an advantage but not essential.

    Central Reservationist Summary:

    This Position provides guest service to customers making reservations for lodging and activities by performing the following duties.  The position is seasonal with opportunity to progress into a long term role for the right candidate(s).

     Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Takes telephone reservations and operates computer software and printers to store and receive reservation data.
    • Tests, inspects, and operates telephone, computer, and other equipment as needed.
    • Adjusts errors and complaints.
    • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; shopping, dining, resort activities, entertainment, and travel directions.
    • Quotes prices, computes bill, collects payment, and provides guest with confirmation of reservation.
    • Sets reservations of lodging, adult ski and snowboard lessons; children’s ski and snowboard lessons; childcare; ski and snowboard rental; lift tickets; bike park tickets, rentals, and lessons; and zip line tours.
    • Speaks with guests by phone to assist with reservation selection.
    • Stays educated on all of the classes offered, products available, restrictions, requirements, and prices so as to coordinate reservations to meet the individual needs of the guest.
    • Answers questions from both internal and external customers.
    • Processes reservations
    • Makes changes to existing reservations.
    • Fulfills all other Reservations and creates packets 24 hours in advance.
    • Distributes all other packets to guests at the front windows.
    • Facilitates cancellations and refunds.
    • Prints off-site tickets for marketing promotions.
    • Makes accurate sales to customers.
    • Promptly answers phone messages.
    • Monitors Angel Fire Resort web site on a regular basis to be continually informed of mountain conditions, activities, events, and changes.
    • Takes telephone inquiries and transfers calls.

    Applicants must possess strong sales and customer service skills, in person as well as over the phone, be able to communicate effectively, perform all tasks with complete accuracy, and be able to maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment.

    Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

  • Bartender

    Angel Fire Resort is looking for an enthusiastic Bartender who shares our passion for excellence.  The Bartender will have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional drink service and exemplifying attention to detail.

    Bartender applicants must possess strong customer service skills in person, be able to communicate effectively, and be able to maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment.  This position includes adhering to all state liquor laws and company policies regarding responsible service of alcoholic beverages.  Bartenders are also responsible for providing customers with resort information, resolving customer complaints, assisting with special projects, and representing the resort as a whole.

    We are looking for applicants with solid bartending experience, a valid NM server’s license, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service at all times. This demanding position requires great attention to detail along with the ability to multi-task, handle cash, follow strict policies and procedures, use a point of sales system, and complete each task in a responsible and highly professional manner.

    Essential Duties:

    • Takes drink orders from customers or Server.
    • Requests proof of age identification from customers per New Mexico liquor laws and company policy.
    • Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
    • Serves wine and draught or bottled beer.
    • Collects money, makes change, and processes credit cards for drinks served.
    • Maintains accurate cash handling procedures.
    • Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies.
    • Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
    • Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.
    • Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts.
    • Informs servers of beverage specials.
    • Monitors and observes guests bar experience.
    • Provides pleasant, prompt, courteous guest service.
    • Follows the restaurants’ standard drink recipes when preparing and serving drinks.
    • Presents drink menus to customers; makes recommendations, and answers questions regarding beverages.
    • Upsells drink specials and food items.
    • Develops rapport with guests.
    • Records drink orders accurately and in a timely manner into the Point of Sale system.
    • Washes and sterilizes glassware, either by hand or by using the dishwasher.
    • Clears and resets bar area.
    • Maintains cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
    • Receives and serves food orders to guests seated at the bar.
    • Reports all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
    • Assists in the restocking and replenishing of bar inventory and supplies.
    • Performs job duties of a Server as needed and as directed by the Manager.
    • Follows alcohol serving policies as required by NM State Law
    • Counts money at the end of each shift and takes money to the cash office.
    • Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions.
    • Reads and records totals shown on point of sale system and verifies against cash on hand.

    Environment: This is an indoor position. Must be able to stand and talk for entire shift and occasionally lift/carry 50lbs (occasionally lift/carry/move kegs weighing 100 pounds or more).

    Qualifications: At least one year of successful bartending and customer service experience is required. Must have valid NM Servers License. Applicants must have a valid NM Servers License or be able to obtain a servers license prior to being hired. The server’s class is offered online at nm.waytoserve.org or through the NM Restaurant Association.

    Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning guest rooms, condos, and homes including making beds, doing laundry, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, removing trash, and other tasks as they relate to hotel operations. Shifts in laundry will also be part of the job. A flexible scheduled is required as shifts will include daytime, evening, and some night shifts.

    We are looking for applicants who are reliable, punctual, can pay attention to the details; perform all tasks with a sense of urgency, and who enjoy being part of a team!

    Environment: This is an indoor position. Must be able to stand/walk for entire shift and regularly lift/carry 50lbs.

    Qualifications: No experience necessary, all training will be provided.

  • Landscaping Manager

    Join the team in 2019 as our Landscaping Manager.  The Landscaping Manager plans and executes large and small scale landscaping projects and maintains the existing grounds and landscape of Angel Fire Resort facilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Works with the Director of Landscape Operations to develop long range landscaping plans, set goals, and prioritize projects.
    • Manages all activities involving landscape production and maintenance, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment and subcontractors required to produce a quality job.
    • Prepares accurate estimates and take-off’s for new landscaping projects.
    • Produces quality landscape design with supporting materials such as sketches, elevations, rendered plans, and photo images for proposed landscaping projects.
    • Ensures every job site’s quality, safety, and appearance.
    • Effectively maintains irrigation systems and identifies and corrects problems and makes necessary repairs.
    • Establishes standards and procedures for work of landscaping staff.
    • Trains landscaping staff on procedures and inspects their work.
    • Effectively monitors plant and turf grass vigor and identifies and addresses insect or disease problems
    • Manages and maintains all administrative and record keeping systems required including time sheets, schedules, work orders, and budgets.
    • Develops and implements strategies to meet the expectations and goals for the landscaping department
    • Plans work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties to ensure adequate services are rendered to all areas.
    • Ensures the operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, making repairs, maintaining equipment and inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
    • Oversees the landscape irrigation including design, construction and usage/water management.  Demonstrates the ability to calculate estimated water flow needs and sizes systems accordingly.
    • Adheres to all safety guidelines established by the company, municipal, state agencies, OSHA and industry standards.
    • Adheres to and participates in the company safety program.
    • Performs the work of subordinate personnel as needed.
    • Follows best practices for water conservation and resource management.
    • Follows company safety policies and best practices when utilizing herbicides, pesticides, etc.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly supervises 2-12 employees in the Landscaping Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and/or Experience

    At least ten years of landscaping experience and/or training and at least five years of successful managerial experience or equivalent education and experience.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

     Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • Current driver’s license with driving record insurable under resort insurance
    • May require pesticide certification per state regulations

     Other Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to develop landscaping designs and render new projects.
    • Ability to prepare complete plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
    • Ability to make material and labor estimates and computations.
    • Ability to safely operate heavy machinery and equipment related to commercial landscaping.
    • Ability to identify differing micro-climates in a project.

     Other Qualifications

    • Experience in utilizing USDA zone #1, #2, #3, and #4 plants.
    • Possess a full working knowledge of plants suited for high elevation gardens.
    • Thorough knowledge of the laws and regulations related to the work.
    • Thorough knowledge of ecological principles and their relationship to environmental planning and design.
    • Thorough knowledge of costs and uses of construction materials used in landscape design.

    • This position maintains the Angel Fire Resort chairlifts and surface lifts according to all applicable codes and standards.
    • Repairs and maintains mechanical and hydraulic components of all chairlifts and surface lifts and related equipment such as:
      • bearings
      • transmissions
      • hydrostatic drives
      • hydraulics
      • engines (both electrical and diesel).
    • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
    • Makes fast and accurate diagnosis of equipment failures in a safe and prudent manner.
    • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
    • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.

    Sales and Events Assistant Summary:

    Coordinates with Sales Department on fulfillment of conference and recreation groups to include meetings, lodging, food & beverage, lift tickets (winter and summer), ski rentals, ski school, tubing, banquets/parties, weddings, mountain biking, golf, and other uses of the facilities operated by Angel Fire Resort. Assists our Event Manager with event execution and fulfillment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Works directly with the Sales Manager and the Wedding and Meetings Sales Coordinator for group, conference and wedding fulfillment.
    • Works directly with the Events Manager on event and activity execution.
    • Confers with customer and resort department heads to plan function details such as space requirements, publicity, time schedule, food service, and decorations.
    • Serves as convention advisor or coordinator during function to minimize confusion and resolve problems such as space adjustment and need for additional equipment.
    • Answers phones, makes follow-up calls with prospective customers, and holds meetings with customers to take care of group details.
    • Oversee any and all in-house and outsource communication and negotiations.
    • Works closely with Food & Beverage, Security, the Country Club, and the RV Resort on the creation and distribution of banquet event orders.
    • Coordinates pre-conference meetings with the group leaders, via conference call or in person when convenient for the client.
    • Meets with the group leaders often while they are on property, especially when the individual arrives on property and at the conclusion of the event.
    • Overcomes any obstacles that may develop to ensure a successful meeting.
    • Coordinates department efforts so that the group receives exactly what they have contracted.
    • Provides site tours to prospective clients and group leaders.
    • Works with Group and Conference sales manager to achieve sales and revenue goals.
    • Produces accurate and timely function contracts for clients and sheets for in-house departments resulting in smooth, efficient operations.
    • Oversees group room block and pick up to insure maximum occupancy and avoidance of unsold rooms.
    • Ensures that rooming lists are received from groups.
    • Ensures that proper accurate billing occurs with no delays in posting a billing.
    • Conducts pre-convention meeting with client, involved staff members and departments.
    • Reserves group events and follows-up with client requests and updates on the number of expected guests and location preference Provides first class service to all conferences, groups and meetings.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
    • Investigates and resolves customer problems.
    • Assists in the execution of special events by moving supplies, setting up furniture, taking out trash, cleaning, providing customer service, speaking through a PA system, etc.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Environment: This is a mostly indoor position. Must be able to sit and talk for long periods of time and occasionally lift/carry 30lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to variable weather conditions.

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk;  sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

    Qualifications: Previous experience in digital media and marketing. Successful customer service experience and advanced PC software computing skills are required.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order processing systems which may include RDP, Siriusware, and SalesForce; at least an intermediate level of proficiency with Spreadsheet software and at least an intermediate level of proficiency with Word Processing software.

    Security Officer Summary:

    Angel Fire Resort is looking for an enthusiastic Security Officer who shares our passion for excellence.  The Security Officer will have the opportunity to shape the Resort experience by exemplifying safety and attention to detail.

    Experience in law enforcement is strongly preferred, but not required, for this position.  Experience working at a destination resort or large dynamic company is preferred.

    Security Officers are responsible for patrolling the Resort facilities to identify and address safety and security concerns, investigating incidents involving theft, damage or injury, preparing incident reports, monitoring surveillance cameras, initiating police response when necessary, providing exceptional guest service at all times, and representing the Resort as a whole.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Patrols resort facilities and properties, confers with management, interviews guests and employees, and interrogates persons to detect infringements and investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalisms, and accidents.
    • Warns or ejects troublemakers, and cautions careless persons.
    • Obtains assistance for accident victims and writes accident reports.
    • Notifies staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations.
    • Assists management in emergency situations.
    • Patrol the resort properties looking for safety and security concerns. Addresses any and all concerns directly and/or bring them to the attention of the appropriate department manager and the security manager.
    • Investigates incidents involving theft, damage, or injury to resort employees and/or guests. Prepares incident reports and file them with Risk Manager and Legal.
    • When appropriate, notifies the Angel Fire Village Police Department of incidents and works with the Department in investigating and addressing incidents. Obtains police reports to be included in the incident report file.
    • Observes resort surveillance cameras/ and reviews and preserves video if necessary.
    • Provides guest services such as jump-starting cars, carrying luggage or boxes, and other miscellaneous services.
    • Maintains daily log of activity in the Security Department during shift.

    Environment: This is an indoor and outdoor position.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time and occasionally lift/carry 50lbs.

    Qualifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record insurable under resort insurance.  A background in law enforcement or the military is strongly preferred, but not required.  Applicants must be mature and responsible and able to work flexible hours including on-call availability.

    Full-time and Part-time positions available.

    Pay: Starting between $12.00 – $14.00 per hour

    Shifts:  Shifts vary. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, special events, and on-call as required by business needs.

    SERVER – ELEMENTS AT THE COUNTRY CLUB

    Angel Fire Resort is looking to hire a Server to assist our team at Elements, our fine dining restaurant at the Country Club.

    We are looking for applicants with attention to detail, who will provide superior guest service at all times, be reliable and punctual, and have the ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment. This is a fine dining establishment and the quality of service should reflect the atmosphere and standards of the restaurant.

    Dining Room and Lounge Servers take orders, serve drinks, work closely with the bartenders, accept payment, answer questions, clean tables, use a Point of Sale system, and overall provide a positive and enjoyable dining experience for all customers.

    Experience: Must have at least six months of successful fine dining serving experience. Must have a valid and current NM Servers License.

    Seasonal position: Full-Time and Part-Time schedules are available.

    Pay: $7.50 per hour plus tips

     A typical shift: Starts around 4:00pm and ends around 10:00pm.
