Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a great work ethic, be dependable and reliable, positive and motivated, enjoy small town life in the Rocky Mountains and be passionate about skiing, golf, hiking, mountain biking, or any of our outdoor activities.

Room and Board

Affordable employee housing is available on a limited, first come, first serve basis. This is dormitory or apartment style housing. There are also condo and home rentals within the area. Contact Property Management at 575-377-6767 for more info.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Angel Fire is located about 30 miles East of Taos, New Mexico and about 2 hours from Santa Fe and 3 hours from Albuquerque.

Having a car is recommended since it is possible to bike or walk around Angel Fire but making the trip to the bigger stores in Taos requires driving.

Our Jobs

For the winter season we are hiring for Ski/Snowboard Instructors, Lift Operators, Rental Techs, Cashiers, Cooks, Servers, Housekeepers, Ski Patrol, and more!

In the summer we also hire for Zip Line Guides, Landscapers, Golf Services, and more! Most summer jobs start in late May.

Winter Ticket Office

Cashier – SlopeSide Retail and Rental

Angel Fire

Cashiers are responsible for selling rental packages and retail items to customers, this includes cash handling, operating a Point of Sales system, maintaining retail inventory, providing customers with resort information, answering guest questions, and resolving issues. Applicants must possess strong customer services skills, be able to communicate effectively, and be able to maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment.

 

Environment: This is an indoor position. Must be able to stand, sit, and talk for long periods of time, and regularly lift/carry 40lbs.

 

Experience: Cash handling and customer service experience is required.

 

Minimum Age: 18 years old

 

Estimated Start Date: Mid-December

 

Seasonal position: A Full-time position is available.

 

Pay: Ranges from $9-$11 per hour depending on experience

 

A typical shift: Starts around 8:00am and ends around 4:00pm

Food and Beverage

Line Cooks prepare and cook food using fryers, ovens, stoves, grills, flat tops, salad (cold) stations, and other kitchen equipment; strive to exceed customer expectations, follow recipes, prep and monitor level of food items, clean and sanitize work stations, prepare food items as ordered by guests, clean kitchens, wash dishes, and other duties as assigned. We are looking for applicants who are reliable, punctual, can follow safe food handling procedures, can multi-task while providing exceptional customer service, and who enjoy working in a fast paced kitchen environment.

 

Environment: This is an indoor position which includes working in a hot kitchen. Must be able to stand for entire shift and regularly lift/carry 75lbs.  

 

Qualifications: Experience as a cook is an advantage but not essential.

 

Minimum Age:

18 years old

Seasonal position: Full-time, part-time and very part-time (holidays only) positions are available.

 

Pay: Ranges from $9.00-$12.00 per hour depending on experience

Mountain Operations

Lift Operator

Angel Fire

Lift operators are responsible for safely operating the ski lifts, helping guests load and unload, maintaining the ramps, setting up the lift lines, answering customer questions, providing exceptional customer service at all times, and representing the Resort as a whole. 

All applicants must be reliable, punctual, have the ability to provide exceptional customer service at all times, work well under pressure, follow strict policies and procedures, work as a team, and help foster a positive, fun, and safe working environment.

 

Environment: This is a physically demanding, outdoor position and applicants can expect to work long hours in variable winter weather conditions. Must be able to stand for entire shift and regularly lift/carry 75lbs.

 

Qualifications: No experience necessary, all training will be provided.

 

Minimum Age: 18 years old

 

Estimated Start Date:

Early-December

 

Seasonal position: Full-time, part-time and very part-time (holidays only) positions are available.

 

Pay: Depends on experience. Includes the opportunity to earn an end of season BONUS and earn ski/ride breaks almost every day!

Other: A ski jacket and ski pants will be provided as part of the uniform. Must provide all other winter clothing and boots.

 

A typical shift: Starts around 7:30am and ends around 4:30pm

Ski School

Ski/Snowboard Instructor

Angel Fire

Our ski school is “instructor centered”, everyone works with adults and children, and teaches both group and private lessons We know that happy, motivated employees make happy successful guests. It really is just that simple. We are hiring for all levels of certified and uncertified ski, snowboard, and Nordic instructors as well as Children’s Specialists. Training opportunities are available all season long. We are looking for applicants who can provide exceptional guest service at all times, work well under pressure, follow strict policies and procedures, work as a team, and help foster a positive, fun, and safe work environment.

 

Environment: This is a physically demanding, outdoor position and applicants can expect to work long hours in variable winter weather conditions. Must be able to regularly carry/lift 75lbs. 

 

Qualifications: Must be able to ski/snowboard at least an intermediate level.

 

Minimum Age: 16 years old

 

Estimated Start Date: Early December

 

Seasonal position: Full-time, part-time and very part-time (holidays only) positions are available.

 

Pay: Base pay ranges from $10.00-$19.00 per hour depending on certifications and experience. Only paid when teaching. Free lunch is provided.

 

Other: A ski jacket will be provided as part of the uniform. Must provide own equipment and black snow pants. Orange, black, grey, or white long sleeve shirts are to be worn under the uniform (no t-shirts or other colors).
