    Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service at the Denali Backcountry Lodge. As a Server, you will greet and serve guests promptly, providing detailed information on menus, multi-tasking various front-of-house duties and collecting the bill. Working as a team player is essential to communicate with the kitchen staff to ensure that orders are accurate and delivered promptly. Your main responsibility will be to provide excellent overall dining experience for our guests. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities such as:

    • Set up wait stations and kitchen service areas for the shift
    • Understand and verbally present the specials of the day
    • Conduct proper alcohol serving procedures according to liquor laws
    • Communicate guest dietary restrictions or allergies to kitchen staff
    • Deliver checks and collect bill payment
    • Meet with kitchen staff to review daily specials, changes to the menu and service specifications for reservations or large parties

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    • Communication and interpersonal skills
    • Must be 21+ of age
    • Proven work experience as a Server
    • Hands-on experience with cash register and Point of Sale system
    • Basic math skills
    • Attentiveness, patience, and presentation skills
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Bartender Server is expected to work 3 serving shifts per week and 2 bartending shifts.  Bartending shifts will cover 2 days off for Bartender. / Provide the highest quality of service to the guests at all times. The Bartender will prepare and serve drinks to clients in our bar; mixing new drinks based on guest orders, maintaining liquor stock and bar supplies, and ensuring guests meet the age requirements for the purchase of alcohol. 


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

    Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities):  Server 
    / Set up wait and kitchen service areas for the shift
    / Memorizing, understanding and verbally repeating the specials for the day 
    / Insure the proper handling of food according to the health codes
    / Keep work areas neat, clean and sanitized throughout the shift
    / Restock needed items in the wait stations
    / Know and understand different cooking procedures that pertain to the menu
    / Provide beverage and meal service in a professional, healthy, and pleasant manner   
    / Deliver food, drinks and provide wine service professionally and as trained
    / Account for food served and monies collected   
    / Take guests orders and encourage additional sales
    / Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and follow all HACCP and applicable food       regulatory rules and procedures   
    / Implementation of safety and sanitation practices as required by AK DEC

    / Daily provide exceptional services and respect to guests
    / Greeting guests, mixing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with appropriate     garnishes
    / Assist in gift shop operation and sales
    / Record all sales, collect money, operate a point-of-sale system, and follow all company cash handling procedures
    / Taking inventory, stocking, and arranging beverage supplies and glassware to create attractive displays

    • Provide professional spa massage and body treatments to Lodge guests
    • Organize and supervise activity volunteers
    • Inventory and maintain massage supplies and equipment
    • Actively promote spa treatments, services and retail

    WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for washing all forms of dishes/pans and keeping the kitchen clean, stocked and organized. The dishwasher will also assist in the preparation of meals as directed. You will work with team members within your department and others to complete the following tasks:

    • Culinary planning and checking the production of food
    • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots or pans using dishwashers or by hand
    • Stock supplies in serving stations or storage
    • Ensure leftover food is stored property
    • Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads and assembling snacks, appetizers and entrees

    • Assist with the loading of busses for  Denali Backcountry Adventures
    • Clean and service vehicles with fuel, lubricants and accessories
    • Maintain and complete the driving documentation log

    WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    • Thorough knowledge of driving and roadway laws and regulations
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Frequently able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
    • Possess a Level B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements and a clean driving record
    • Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate
    • One year of guest transportation experience
