Wasta Bound LLC

Our busy tourist season is getting ready to start out here in the Badlands of South Dakota! We have several rooms available here in Wasta for our guests who are touring the area on a nightly basis, as well as folks who may be working nearby temporarily on more of a weekly basis. Our extended stay people are here for a bit longer, those stays range anywhere from a few months to a year depending on each individual's needs. Our 4 buildings where we host our guests are: The Redwood Motel, a traditional roadside "Mom & Pop" motel with the feel of yesteryear offering 5 nightly accommodations with fridge/microwave, coffee service and snacks. It's located conveniently right off the I-90 and is very well known in the area with excellent guest reviews! Next the 8 room Wagon Wheel Suites on the north end of town also has nightly accommodations and was remodeled from top to bottom last season. The Wheel offers more to the traveler, with a kitchen, a front patio designed for front porch sitting and a private back deck off each room. And last but not least, the Thunderheart and the Dakota Apartments are dedicated to our long-term folks with a combined total of 14 studio apartments furnished with kitchens and private bathrooms in each unit. 

The village of Wasta where we live and work is small but friendly, surrounded by ranchland and situated about a mile from the Cheyenne River which is easily accessible for fishing, swimming, and rock hunting. At last count, we have about 80 people of various ages who call Wasta home. it's a bit like "Mayberry RFD" out here, peaceful and safe. Our town does have a 24 Express fueling station as well as the fun local Wasta Bar which serves food as well as drinks. Our town does not have a market so all groceries and supplies are easily procured in Wall SD just 11 miles east of us at the gateway to the Badlands NP. 

We have an available studio apartment set aside for our new employee and look forward to getting to know whoever is chosen to fill the position. This housing compensation will be separate from the hourly rate and subject to the individual's needs.

We are looking for someone who is willing to be a part of our team beginning in June 2024 and carrying on through August, although September was one of our busiest months last year, so if willing we could most likely use the help all the way through September. We are a family oriented business and always looking to give our travelers the best possible experience as they adventure through our beautiful surroundings. This position we are offering is part time to full time depending on the flow of guests, with consideration given for time off to enjoy life and have your own adventures. Typical work hours are roughly 4-8 hours per day. The job includes laundry duties as well as cleaning rooms & suites. We would prefer someone with experience in housekeeping but will definitely provide on the job training to ensure a good product. Coin-op laundry facilities are located at the Thunderheart building which are available for guests use as well as employees & the general public. Attached is a private laundry behind the public laundry for our own use during work hours.
