Seasonal Retail Store Supervisor: The Souvenir Division of Tongass Trading Company, the longest continually operating retail establishment in the state of Alaska has an immediate opening for a seasonal Store Supervisor. The Tongass Trading Souvenir Division is comprised of four souvenir stores that serve over a million tourists that visit beautiful Ketchikan, Alaska each year.

Our stores are crazy busy during the six month summer tourism season, and we're nearly just as busy in the six month off-season preparing for the following summer. Two days are rarely the same in this fast-paced, high-energy environment.

On any given day during the season you may be…

• Performing store operations of opening, closing, cashiering, and supervising staff
• Ensuring floor stock levels are maintained
• Assisting merchandise stockers as needed
• Re-merchandising areas within the stores
• Doing mark downs
• Performing operations training with sales associates
• Communicating with managers concerning merchandise needs, and staff allocation

Qualifications include:

• Work experience in retail management supervising employees
• Initiative to learn new things
• Highly effective communication skills
• Ability to switch between tasks quickly
• Ability to maintain priorities despite interruptions
• An eye for details
• Excellent organization skills

Must be able to lift up to 50#, do ladder work, and be on your feet for up to 10 hours a day.

Job Type: Seasonal, full-time

Pay: $18/hour

The Tongass Trading Souvenir Division is comprised of four souvenir stores that serve over a million tourists that visit beautiful Ketchikan, Alaska each year. Having prime locations right on the cruise ship docks or right across the street; our stores are CRAZY busy.

We are looking for full and part-time seasonal employees to work in our stores in Ketchikan, Alaska for the 2024 summer season.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Customer service
• Stocking sales floor merchandise
• Sales floor recovery
• Cashiering
• Processing merchandise in the warehouses
• Opening/closing cash registers
• Communicating store needs with managers
• End of season inventory
