EXPERIENCE:
- Commercial kitchen experience a must.
- At least 3 years’ experience.
- ServSafe Manager certification.
- ServSafe Alcohol certification.
- Ability to lead a team and keep a positive atmosphere in kitchen and dining areas.
- Ability to effectively teach others.
- A positive attitude and an interest in contributing talents and energy toward the efforts at The Lodge at Moosehead Lake.
- Interest in being part of a small, close-knit team of seasonal employees.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support both AM and PM service in restaurant.
- Salary commensurate with experience.
JOB SUMMARY
Manage all aspects of the culinary operations at The Lodge at Moosehead Lake to maintain a consistently five-star standard of cleanliness and food excellence. Provide dinner service for lodging guests and the public, four evenings a week. Cover breakfast service two mornings a week.
Assists with planning and execution of food and beverages for a variety of special events, including catered dinners, elopements, retreats, wine tastings, etc. Prepares add-on food services for guests such as charcuteries and picnic lunches.
Ensure that all foods for Dining Room, are nutritious, safe, wholesome, eye-appealing, delicious, and meet recipe and food cost specifications. Supervise kitchen staff to ensure tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate should also possess an interest in taking a relatively new restaurant to another level in terms of production, efficiency, profitability, and creativity, within the confines of the seasonality, and a remote location.
