    The Houseman at our lodge plays a vital role in maintaining the overall cleanliness, organization, and functionality of our premises. This position involves supporting the housekeeping team and ensuring that all areas of the lodge are well-maintained, lean, and ready to provide exceptional service to our guests. The Houseman will be responsible for assisting with various tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the lodge and the satisfaction of our guests.

     

    Key Responsibility:

    • Assisting the housekeeping staff in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of all lodge areas, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back of house areas.
    • Ensuring that all corridors, lobbies, and other public areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
    • Handling transportation of linens, towels, and other housekeeping supplies to and from designated areas.
    • Collecting and disposing of trash and waste materials in accordance with established procedures.
    • Performing regular maintenance check and promptly reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
    • Supporting the setup and break down of various events, meetings, or functions hosted at the lodge.

    • Financial Duties:

    • Prepare and distribute daily financial reports and summaries to the management team.

    • Guest Services:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality ingredients and assisting in the preparation of dishes according to our established recipes and standards. The Prep Cook will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient food preparation processes, contributing to the overall exceptional dining experience we offer to our guests.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning various foods.
    • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items according to specified recipes and portion control standards.
    • Assist in the cooking of menus items under the supervision of the kitchen’s management team.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of food, utensil, and equipment.
    • Ensure all food preparation is in compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
    • Support the kitchen staff in ensuring the timely delivery of food to the line cooks and chefs.
    • Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the Head Chef or management.
    • Collaborate with the kitchen team in developing and testing new recipes and menu items.
    • Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain the freshness and quality of ingredients.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience working as a Prep Cook or in a similar role in a professional kitchen environment.
    • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils, including knives, slicers, and food processors.
    • Understanding of various cooking techniques and food safety practices.
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and high-pressure environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food preparation and handling.
    • Reliable transportation nice to have.

    • Drivers Licences Recommended.
