  • Restaurant/Bar Asst Manager

    Do you love people, food, and the great outdoors?

    Our restaurant currently offers elevated bar food and a variety of cocktails, wines, and local craft beers. We also host many community events, live music, and fundraisers. We are looking for a person who wants to be part of the community as a whole and has a passion for creating a warm and welcoming environment while delivering the highest level of service.   

    The ideal candidate will model servant leadership, a passion to coach and train staff, professional presentation, and have a strong background in hospitality. This individual will report to the General Manager and the Front of House Manager and will be responsible to assist the FOH Manager with training, support, and evaluation of all FOH staff. This person must have an affinity for people and thrive in a team environment with an eye for the details and a drive to do all things with excellence. 

    You will be responsible to assist the Front of House Manager with the following duties:

    • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence, remarkable service, hospitality, and sincere interactions with our guests and holding FOH staff accountable to that standard.

    • Coordinate and communicate with the GM and FOH Manager regularly to improve the SLO restaurant experience.

    • Ensure staff are maintaining all industry standards, observing health codes and carefully maintaining a clean and orderly dining room. 

    • Collaborate with other SLO staff members/departments in day-to-day operations 

    • Prepare and execute the daily restaurant experience and special events

    • Build a cohesive FOH team, assist in training and development, and collaborate with FOH Manger on periodic staff evaluations

    • Exhibit clear and effective communication with both BOH and FOH staff, General Manager, and FOH Manager

    • Ensure consistency in leadership and restaurant standards on FOH Manager's days off 

    • Be committed to the SLO Community and work to improve and uphold the culture. 

    Required Skills: 

    • Minimum 4 years hospitality and/or restaurant experience 

    • High School Graduate/GED equivalency 

    • Valid driver’s license 

    • 21 years or older  

    • Ability to work in a standing position for 8-10 hours per day 

    • Ability to lift 60lbs (50lbs overhead)

    Preferred Skills: 

    • 2+ years management experience 

    • Servsafe alcohol certification 

    • Bartending experience

    • Proficient with public speaking, customer service, and crisis management skills 

    • Highly proficient in Toast POS system and mathematics 

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

     

    Compensation: Depending on experience and may include free housing.

  • Line Cook/Prep Cook

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Expand current cooking and managerial skills
    • Manage and assist in preparing food in large quantities in an efficient and consistent manner
    • Food & beverage inventory and tracking
    • Train and work back of house positions to gain hands-on experience and understanding of all operations
    • Stamina to stand during an 8-hour shift
    • All other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed
    • Essential responsibilities include the ability to work all food stations including grill, flat top, fryer, prep, pantry, sauté, and expo while in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

    Store Duties:

    • Processing transactions accurately
    • Opening and closing the drawer, counting the till
    • Authorizing gas pumps for fuel transactions
    • Stocking shelves and refrigerators, making sure product is priced and placed appropriately
    • Cleaning the store/front desk area to always ensure that it’s presentable
    • Taking to-go meal orders over the phone
    • Special projects

    Front Desk Duties:

    • Responsible for being knowledgeable about all The Outpost’s offerings & policies; answering guests’ questions, setting expectations
    • Answer phones and emails in a timely and professional manner
    • Book reservations for lodging and activities, clearly communicating The Outpost’s policies
    • Greet guests as they walk in the front door
    • Check in for lodging and activities, making sure the appropriate paperwork gets completed
    • Special projects, based on skill set and interests
  • Head Chef/Kitchen Manager

Our restaurant is one department of our business that is centered on serving families and recreationalists that live in and visit North Routt. As a business, we also offer many guided activities such as UTV tours, Horseback Rides, Snowmobile Tours, Backcountry Skiing, Pontoon Fishing Cruises, Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides and Ice fishing. Our store is focused on supplying our guests with the things they need to have a great experience. Our restaurant is the spot they can come back to and share stories and recap their day over a meal.

    • Oversee menu planning, ordering, inventory, prepping, and execution of all meals at SLO 

    • Oversee the execution of all staff meals 

    • Responsible for the training, scheduling, and evaluation of all BOH staff 

    • Responsible for the approval of all timecards for BOH staff 

    • Responsible for all health and safety inspections and ensuring staff are maintaining all industry standards 

    • Collaborate with other SLO staff members/departments in day-to-day operations 

    • Preparation and execution of all foods including our entire menu as well as all specials, baking, staff meals and special events. 

    • Building a cohesive BOH team, system development and implementation, menu development, recipe development, training, educating, purchasing, maintaining food costs, maintaining labor costs, observing health codes, and carefully maintaining a very clean and orderly kitchen. 

    • Exhibit clear and effective communication with both BOH and FOH staff, F&B Director, and GM

    • Be committed to excellence, remarkable service, hospitality, and sincere interactions with our guests and holding BOH accountable to that standard. 

    • Be committed to the SLO Community and work to improve and uphold the culture. 

    Required Skills: 

    • Minimum 4 years cooking experience in a commercial kitchen  

    • High School Graduate/GED equivalency 

    • Valid driver’s license 

    • 21 years or older 

    • Ability to work in a standing position for 8-10 hours per day 

    • Ability to lift 60lbs (50 lbs overhead)

    Preferred Skills: 

    • 2+ years management experience 

    • Servsafe food handler certified manager 

    • Highly proficient in kitchen systems and mathematics 

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

    Compensation: Depending on experience and may include housing, salary, medical/dental, and paid vacation to use during the slower season.
