Robin Hood hires highly 150 skilled activity leaders, who also work as cabin counselors. We also 15 hire support staff (kitchen, laundry, housecleaning, landscaping, office), who live in employee cabins. Our season is from the beginning of June to mid-August.
All staff members participate in a 10-day orientation prior to the campers’ arrival which happens in conjunction with pre-camp setup time. During orientation, staff learn the Robin Hood history, philosophy and program and get to know each other.
At Robin Hood, you live and work with children 24 hours a day with two days off per week (Noon to Midnight). It is a demanding job that calls for the judgment of a concerned parent, the sensitivity of a child psychiatrist, the diplomacy of a seasoned schoolteacher, and a commitment to leadership by example and high standards. The more you put into it, the greater the rewards!
We hire activity counselors to teach and coach the following sports and activities: archery, basketball, biking (mountain), camping, climbing, chess, circus, dance, drums, fencing, fitness, golf, gymnastics, horseback riding (English) kayaking, lacrosse, lifeguarding, photography, singing, skateboarding, table tennis, tennis, track or distance running.
