Red Lodge Mountain begins hiring for the winter season at the beginning of September.  Our all employee orientation is held mid-November and the season runs the day after Thanksgiving to mid-April.

    Job Summary: Serves as the front line for Red Lodge Mountain, providing customer service to guests on and off the mountain.

    Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

     

    • Provide guidance to guests in the base area and on the mountain
    • Serve as parking attendant and parking lot shuttle driver
    • Provide on-mountain tours as necessary
    • Greet scheduled groups in the parking lot and guide them around the base area for check-in
    • Assist Base Operations departments with shoveling/sanding duties, crowd control, janitorial, and guest related issues
    • Assist guests with baggage and ski gear from their vehicles to lodges
    • Assist Ticket Office staff in processing, storing, and retrieving Lost and Found items
    • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service
    • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio

    Job Title: Janitor

    Job Summary: Responsible for janitorial duties in and around the companies’ public facilities.

    Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

    • Clean all RLM facilities, including the base area and those on the mountain.

    • Efficiently clean and stock all bathrooms in all facilities throughout the day.

    • Assist with snow removal, including shoveling and snow blowing.

    • Assist other departments with cleaning/maintenance issues.

    • Empty and transport garbage and recycling.

    • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

    • May be transported to various facilities via snowmobile, chair lift, or snow grooming machines.

    Job Summary: Cleans buildings after the resort has closed for the day.

    Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

    • Clean and maintain base area buildings prior to and after the resort has closed.
    • Assist with snow removal around base area with the use of snow shovels and snow blower equipment.
    • Effectively clean and stock all bathrooms in all facilities.
    • Work without supervision in an efficient manner.
    • Remove trash & recycling from receptacles and hauling of bags to dumpsters as needed.
    • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

    Job Summary:  Assist guests in checking gear in a variety of outlets (day lockers, ski check, bag check).

    • Assure all guests and staff are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
    • Receive guests’ clothing-filled container/skis/personal belongings, furnish claim check, and return items upon receipt of claim check.
    • Securely and safely store guests’ personal items and gear.
    • Accurately ring up customer purchases, receive money via cash and credit card, and give change using a PC point-of-sales system.
    • Answer customer questions about other ski area services and events.
    • Stock and clean work area. Keep work area orderly and clean during the day.
    • Accurately count till to prepare drop at end of shift and close out sale location.

    • Adjust bindings on skis and snowboards.

    • Competence in;  waxing, edge angles, base repairs including core shot repair, stone grind patterns, edge repairs, mounting/adjusting and testing ski bindings.

    Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

    • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service.
    • Set up advertising displays and arrange merchandise on counters, tables, and shelves to promote sales.
    • Prepare merchandise for sale (enter into inventory, tag, hang, display).
    • Use literature and available training resources to stay up to date on product features in order to educate the consumer.
    • Provide information regarding services and products and answer any preliminary questions customers have.
    • Accurately ring up customer purchases, receive money, and give change using a PC point of sales system.
    • Keep sales floor, other sales areas, storage areas, and GPO bathrooms stocked, clean, and organized.
    • Shovel and clear snow around retail locations when necessary.
    • Assist with data entry related to retail merchandise/inventory.
    • Follow closing procedures as outlined in RTP/Cash Handling Training.
    • Participate in monthly inventory of merchandise.
    • Advise Retail Manager of any concerns or suggestions as appropriate.
    • Maintain awareness of Red Lodge Mountain products and events.

    • Primarily responsible for mechanical work on vehicle fleet (snow cats, graders, loaders, plow trucks, 4WD vehicles, ATV’s, and snowmobiles).
    • Perform all maintenance and repairs in a safe manner and in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
    • Assist operators in grooming trails/runs to produce quality snow surface for guests.
    • Help plow and maintain mountain road/parking lot/courtyard using grader, loader, and plow truck.
    • Complete maintenance logs and checklists.
    • Remove/relocate snow and ice from equipment and trails.
    • Advise supervisor of adverse conditions or problems as appropriate.
    • Work at night in cold, wintry conditions.
    • Perform daily checks and maintenance of vehicles and notify supervisor of problems beyond your skill set.
    • Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

    Job Summary: Responsible for the coordination and performance of wedding/banquet sales, group sales, and partner sales (off-site and lodging) channels, including the development and execution of an annual sales plan for each. Also responsible for all Mountain and Golf Course events such as Town Series, Winter Carnival, golf tournaments, and other special events.

     

    Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

    • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of sales and event processes and procedures.
    • Organize and supervise all aspects of weddings (excluding F&B); including ceremony set-up, banquet space set-up, audio/visual (if applicable), and billing. Coordinate with F&B Manager for seamless execution of reception by banquet staff.
    • Effectively field sales leads/calls/inquiries as given with a professional and timely response and follow-up with clients in a timely manner.
    • Communicate often with clients to obtain and confirm all information pertaining to their wedding/banquet/event/group-outing is accurate and organized for seamless execution.
    • Coordinate all events including Town Series, Winter Carnival, Golf Tournaments; support Terrain Park events as needed.
    • Plan, organize, and assist all schools and groups.
    • Coordinate packages and agreements with all shop, ski, and lodging partners.
    • Book and coordinate bands for Bierstube during the winter season.
    • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
    • Reach out to leads and groups through cold calling.
    • Obtain deposits and balance of payment from clients.
    • Maintain proficient knowledge of the operational use of all points-of-sale, group and wedding customer databases, and tee-time scheduling tools.
    • Prepare and maintain the reports, forms, and databases necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
    • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
    • Attend local and regional trade shows as required.
    • Maintain wedding venue listings on The Knot, WeddingWire, Google Business.
    • Develop relationships with vendors and photographers for cross-marketing.
    • Support employee events including holiday parties, end-of-season functions, and orientations.
    • Prepare for and perform venue tours for wedding/banquet events.
    • Ensure that customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
    • Assist subordinates and other departments in performing duties whenever necessary.
    • Flexible work hours may include evenings/weekends/holidays.
