Red Lodge Mountain begins hiring for the winter season in mid-August.  Our all employee orientation is held mid-November and the season runs the day after Thanksgiving to mid-April.

We begin hiring for the summer season in March. Positions at the golf course run May-September.

    Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of Food & Beverage service at Red Lodge Mountain and the Red Lodge Mountain Golf Course, including cafeteria-style dining, bar and restaurants, satellite entities, weddings and banquets, events, and golf tournaments. Coordinates all food service activities, including menu planning, staffing, health and safety protocols, purchasing, and inventory control.   

     

    Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

     

    • Ensure customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
    • Manage service aspects in all food and beverage assigned areas and events, and acknowledge, greet
    • and thank members and guests.
    • Design menus and continuously make necessary improvements.
    • Oversee purchasing and controlling of inventory costs for food, beverages, equipment, and supplies.
    • Maintain clean and orderly food and beverage facilities at all times. 
    • Assure compliance with all health and food regulations.
    • Maintain monthly inventory.
    • Assist management with annual budget development and speak to that tool on a daily basis.
    • Coordinate food and beverage for RLM employee and special events. 
    • Proficient with and able to train others on RTP point of sale system.
    • Work with Human Resources to interview, hire, train, and appraise performance of employees.
    • Provide supervision and guidance to employees in accordance with RLM policies and State/Federal employment laws.
    • Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
    • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, reviews, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources when necessary.
    • Accomplish financial objectives by adhering to a departmental budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
    • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of department processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
    • Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
    • Delegate department representation at committees such as sustainability, safety, and customer service.
    • Communicate regularly and effectively with other managers, directors, general manager, and other designated contacts within the organization.
    • Assist subordinates and other departments in performing duties whenever necessary.

    Experience/Education

      Required

    • 4-6 years’ experience in management of food and beverage operation in a resort setting
    • Experience managing all phases of F&B operations
    • High school diploma or GED

    Preferred

    • Culinary, Trade, or College Degree

    • Ensure customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
    • Set-up the Clubhouse for weddings, meetings, dinners, tournaments, and other events.  This includes formal table settings along with some audio/visual set-up.
    • Assist with food and table prep before the event begins.
    • Stock and clean wait staff area.
    • Wipe down tables and chairs and vacuum/mop floors daily.
    • Must commit to 50% of booked events for season (beginning May 1st of each year) upon hire.

    • General bartending duties; prepare and serve cocktails, wine, and beer.
    • Accurately ring up customer purchases, receive money, and give change using a point of sales system.
    • Process credit card transactions and accurately enter tip amounts.
    • Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences.
    • Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere.
    • Stock and clean bar area.
    • Take out garbage/recycling daily, clean, and mop behind bar.
    • Organize and clean cooler area.
    • May perform duties of Golf Course waitstaff and/or cook as necessary.

    Job Summary: Stock, prep, and cook food for Red Lodge Mountain Golf Course restaurant and catering events.

    Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

    • Ensure customer satisfaction with efficient, friendly service.
    • Prepare quality, high-end buffet and plated menus for large and small scale events.
    • Prepare quality, street food fare for a casual, fast-paced, high volume restaurant.
    • Prepare and properly garnish all food orders in accordance with menu specifications.
    • Present food using proper plate presentation techniques.
    • Coordinate completion of menu items with server.
    • Adhere to company standards for safe food handling and storage.
    • Keep equipment clean and in proper operating conditions.
    • Maintain cleanliness and stock coolers and storage area.
    • Use and maintain kitchen appliances—grill, flattop and fryers.
    • Maintain kitchen stations, including daily set-up/break-down, cleaning and restocking.
    • Wash, cut, prepare, and cook food items according to standards and procedures set by Food & Beverage Manager.
    • Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen cleaning up spills and other potential hazards immediately. Ensure that all standards of safety are strictly observed.
    • Wash and stock dishes.
    • Clean and stock kitchen area.
    • Take out garbage and sweep and mop kitchen floor and hallway.

    • Maintain and cut grass on tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes, and greens.
    • Edge, rake, maintain, and reconstruct sand bunkers.
    • Handle aerating, fertilizing, mulching, weeding, and seeding tasks along with correcting drainage problems.
    • Use equipment such as greens mowers, tee box mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, bunker rakes, carts, and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.
    • Plant grass according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area, using hand tools.
    • Trim hedges and prune trees using hand and power tools.
    • Maintain and repair tools and equipment.
    • Ensure that customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
    • Observe all RLM Golf Course safety practices and protocols.
    • Participate in required trainings and meetings.
    • Perform other tasks and duties as required.

    • Change sprinkler heads, turn water on and off various greens, tees, and fairways on golf course.
    • Maintain and repair tools and equipment.
    • Ensure that customers and employees are treated courteously, safely, and efficiently.
    • Participate in required trainings and meetings.
    • Perform other required tasks and duties as required.
    • Typical shift 7 PM-3 AM.
