THE ULTIMATE SUMMER - living and working in the Colorado Rockies
Rainbow Trout Ranch is a family owned and operated guest ranch providing authentic western vacations. We are totally committed to providing a quality western experience for our guests.
Located at 9000 ft. in the San Juan Mountains of southern Colorado.
Rainbow Trout Ranch is a first class guest ranch. We provide horseback riding, fishing, children's and teen programs and many other activities. We are family oriented for guests and staff. Many of our guests return each year and we have very high expectations of our staff in continuing that tradition. We hire people who are excited, enthusiastic and who care about their work.
The Employee Experience
A summer at Rainbow Trout Ranch is a unique experience. You meet staff and guests from all over the world. Many of the guests return year after year and our staff play a key role in their vacation experience. At the end of the summer you will have made lifetime friendships, learned many skills and you will have memories that last a lifetime.
All positions require individuals who are dependable, honest, enthusiastic, positive, respectful and who have a strong work ethic. You must be a friendly person (complete with smile), committed to your responsibilities and a team player willing to jump in and help in any area of the ranch. Our staff need excellent communication skills and a love of serving people.
Room and Board
The ranch provides onsite housing and meals for all employees at a nominal monthly fee. Employee housing is shared with 2 or 3 other employees. You have use of the ranch laundry facilities. Staff meals are the same as provided for our guests.
All staff work six days a week. Payroll is based on an hourly wage plus overtime for working over forty hours in a week, plus a share of the tip pool. The same benefits are paid regardless of position since we believe all staff positions are of equal importance, and it takes everyone to provide our guests with the best vacation. We truly want you to enjoy your work and have fun doing it.
Getting Here and Getting Around
You can drive your own vehicle to the ranch. If you prefer not to drive we can pick you up at the Alamosa airport (San Luis Regional Airport) with arrangements made in advance.
You will also have time to enjoy the mountains. On days off we encourage staff to horseback ride, hike the many trails, swim, fish, and take in the sights of Colorado and the southwest influence of Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
We are looking for staff who are available as early as mid-May to the end of August. We also need people who can stay through the end of September.
