Odyssey Lodge is a semi remote, Eco-friendly lodge in Kachemak Bay, Alaska! We are currently hiring for several positions, including Guides, Restaurant front of house, housekeeping, and boat captains. Check out the photos of our employee housing!
Odyssey Lodge is located in China Poot bay, approximately 4.5 miles across the bay from Homer, Alaska. located right outside the park boundary in Kachemak Bay. A 15-20 minute boat ride to the property is required to get here.

Because our team lives in shared staff housing, it’s important that candidates are respectful, cooperative, and able to live comfortably with others. If you struggle with shared spaces or have never lived with roommates, this position may be more challenging.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Odyssey Lodge is a semi-remote property with boat-in-only access. Because there are no roads leading to the lodge, staff living on-site do not need a vehicle. For those who want to explore more of Alaska on their days off, personal vehicles can be parked at the Homer Harbor.
All areas of the lodge and staff housing are within easy walking distance, no bikes or off-road vehicles are needed. On scheduled days off, we can provide transportation to and from the lodge with prior notice. Water taxis are also available throughout the summer for additional travel flexibility.

Living and working at Odyssey Lodge means being surrounded by some of Alaska’s most breathtaking scenery; lush forests, ocean views, towering mountains, and vibrant wildlife. Our location is just four miles by boat from Homer and sits along the channel leading to China Poot Falls, an area rich in marine life and natural beauty.

Serves patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
Helps serve as a bartender making craft cocktails
Provides information to help food and beverage selections.
Presents ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner.
Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.
Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
Helps patrons select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices and identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests.
Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process.
Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to return.
Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments to host, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.

We're seeking enthusiastic, hardworking individuals who thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. This role involves dishwashing, bussing, cleaning, organizing and kitchen prep. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, quick learners, exceptionally tidy and enjoy supporting a team. Physical strength, a penchant for cleanliness and the ability to work in a compact steamy kitchen environment are essential. Consistent punctuality and a positive attitude are key in our bustling kitchen where teamwork is paramount.
