We’re looking for team members who are adaptable, responsible, and committed to delivering excellent guest experiences. Strong customer service skills, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude go a long way here.

Because our team lives in shared staff housing, it’s important that candidates are respectful, cooperative, and able to live comfortably with others. If you thrive in a communal environment and enjoy being part of a close-knit team, you’ll fit right in. If you struggle with shared spaces or have never lived with roommates, this position may be more challenging.

Room and board is provided for all team members for a small monthly fee that covers utilities and general housing necessities. All staff are required to live on the property throughout their employment. Housing is communal but comfortable. Living on-site helps foster a strong team environment and allows you to fully experience the unique, remote setting of Kachemak Bay.

If you love fishing, hiking, kayaking, bird watching, or spending time with like-minded adventurers, you’ll thrive at Odyssey Lodge. The world is truly your oyster here. If salmon fishing is on your bucket list, you’re in luck—the annual Red run is just two miles up the bay. We’re also located near several state park trails, offering easy access to some of the most stunning hiking routes in the region. Whether you’re looking for outdoor thrills or peaceful moments in nature, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy your downtime.

Odyssey Lodge is a semi-remote property with boat-in-only access. Because there are no roads leading to the lodge, staff living on-site do not need a vehicle. For those who want to explore more of Alaska on their days off, personal vehicles can be parked at the Homer Harbor.

All areas of the lodge and staff housing are within easy walking distance, no bikes or off-road vehicles are needed. On scheduled days off, we can provide transportation to and from the lodge with prior notice. Water taxis are also available throughout the summer for additional travel flexibility.
