Nat Shack is a Food trailer/Outdoor restaurant located in the picturesque Valdez, Alaska. Nat Shack sits downtown Valdez on the harbor on a large lot with covered/outdoor seating, lights and good music. We are foodies at Nat Shack and love making the best Cal-Mex fusion food! If you love the outdoors and good food, you will love working at Nat Shack!

The position description - Cashier

• Taking orders at the front window
• Serving alcohol (must be 21+ and obtain TAPS card)
• Engaging with customers
• Cleaning and stocking
• Expediting orders
• Working along side 3+ employees in FOH / 2 + employees in BOH
• Working on the prep line preparing food orders
• Keeping area clean and sanitized

The most important part of this position involves engaging with customers. This position requires a lot of multitasking and long hours on your feet. We are very busy in the summers and sometimes we have a long line for the entire day. This position is 40+ hour per week with opportunities for overtime. We work hard in the summers but there will also be an opportunity for you to have time off to enjoy Valdez and everything it has to offer. In Valdez there is kayaking in the beautiful Prince William Sound and Valdez Glacier, fishing from the docks or charter boats, hiking on numerous trails throughout Valdez, music shows at outdoor venues, Valdez city events and much more! 

Employee housing is available for this position. The housing is a shared living space with a private bedroom, shared bathroom and kitchen/living space with one other tenant. The housing is close to the grocery store and Nat Shack. A bike is provided for transportation. We are looking for someone to start work in early May through September. Hosing is included with the position.
