Our three month positions will run June 2nd (the start of staff orientation) through August 25th (the final day of the summer season). Our full guest season runs May 1st - mid-October, and we have work available as early as mid-April, and as late as November 1.

If you have interest in a particular area but don't see a position listed - perhaps you are interested in our dining program, or love working with kids - let us know, as we may have a position come available after you have applied. 

  • (Entry Level) Guest Services

    Emigrant, Montana

    The ultimate variety job! The largest workforce on the ranch, this 25 person crew rotates through our dining room, housekeeping department and kids program on a shift-to-shift basis, with one dishwashing shift per week. Depending upon interest and skill set, an additional shift or two per week might be spent leading hikes, transporting guests in passenger vans, working in the gift shop, helping with landscaping, and more. 3 – 6 month positions available. June 3 to August 26 at minimum, with a start date as early as May 1 and an end date as late as October 31.

  • Guest Services with Yoga Focus

    Emigrant, Montana

    Will perform Guest Services duties throughout the full season with an emphasis on our Wellness Program by leading yoga classes.  This role will help lead yoga classes and assist with other responsibilities as assigned--while also participating in Guest Services shifts throughout the week.

  • Challenge Course – Base Camp Operation Coordinator

    AMB West Philanthropies
    Emigrant, Montana

    This position is an integral part of the operations of AMB West Challenge Course and Basecamp. The primary role is facilitation of the Challenge Course and over site of Basecamp facilities. (see Challenge Course Community Facilitator position for more details on program delivery). 

    Candidate must be self-motivated, great communicator with a willingness to work independently. The ideal candidate has background in facilitation and program delivery to a variety of age groups. Other helpful areas of experience include housekeeping, basic maintenance, first aid, risk analysis, guiding.

    Site specific, Level 1 Challenge Course Training and Certification provided on cite.

    Minimum availability early May through mid-October. Housing and Shift Meals available

  • Challenge Course Community Facilitator

    AMB West Base Camp & Challenge Course

    Position is responsible for working with the team to customize and deliver programming for Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, West Creek Ranch and non-profit organizations operating youth-based outdoor leadership and natural resource conservation groups across the state of Montana. Our guests are varied in age and purpose; youth, board members, program staff, and executive groups from across the nation join us to absorb the benefits of play in the outdoors.

    As part of our team you will enhance your facilitation skills in these areas and more:

    • Technical competence for 4 different belay systems
    • Inspection and Maintenance of Challenge Course
    • Basic and potentially beyond basic rescue techniques
    • Proper spotting
    • Conceptual and Intentional facilitation skills
    • Certification by Professional Vendor Member (PVM) of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT)
    • CPR/First Aid

  • Noxious Weed Control Assistant/Ranch Hand

    Emigrant, Montana

    Description

    • The Noxious Weed Control Assistant will control noxious weeds alongside the Noxious Weed Control Specialist on West Creek and Mountain Sky Guest Ranches.  As an assistant, you will learn a variety of control techniques including chemical and mechanical methods to reduce the impact of noxious weeds on the ranches.  Training and supervision on required work tasks will be provided.  

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Assist the Noxious Weed Control Specialist with weed control and restoration efforts. Main duties will include herbicide applications and other methods of vegetation management under the supervision of a certified applicator
    • Identify common noxious weeds and native plants
    • Use backpack sprayers and tank sprayers to spray noxious weeds with herbicide
    • Perform noxious weed control in both front country and backcountry setting
    • Assist in surveying, data collection, and mapping of native and non-native vegetation
    • Assist in other ranch duties as assigned such as fencing and irrigation work

    • This position would start June 1st and end September 1st.

    Assists the housekeeping manager with training, guiding and scheduling housekeeping personnel, upholding 4-diamond standards in a resort ranch environment, upkeep of laundry, inventory and ordering. Daily housekeeping duties required. Runs the department in the manager's absence. 6 month position.

  • Wrangler

    Emigrant, Montana

    The ideal wrangler candidate will demonstrate both excellent customer service and strong horsemanship skills. Wranglers will lead rides on 17,000 private acres, in addition to the neighboring Gallatin National Forest. Trail rides aren’t your typical nose-to-tail walking dude rides; Our guests stay for a week at a time, and they come to ride! We lead walk, trot, and lope rides, all with a heavy instruction component. A riding video will be required from applicants not able to join us for a live riding interview, but it is not necessary to submit the video with your initial application. 3 – 7 month positions available. May 15 to August 26 at minimum, with a start date as early as April 1 and an end date as late as October 31.
