    We have a full service bakery on property that supplies the baked items, desserts and pastry items for the restaurant, bakery and various resort outlets. We are in need of an experienced bakery assistant who has the desire and experience to work into a bakery supervisor. We are a scratch bakery so knowledge of baking practices is vital to this position. 

    • Set up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies
    • Prepares bakery items by measuring, weighing, mixing, and baking.
    • Mixes batters, cooks muffins, breakfast breads, cookies, scones, cinnamon rolls, and other bakery items.
    • Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
    • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
    • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

    Duties

    • Manage the business aspect of the bar, Beverage, maintain TABC regulations, negotiate supplier contracts, take inventory and reorders supplies, manage budgets, liquor costs, POS system, and set goals.

    To put it in perspective, we are approx. 200 miles to the closest Wal-Mart in Fort Stockton, and 95 miles to the closest McDonalds or stoplight in Alpine!  We are here because we love remoteness.  No traffic, no big-city lights, creates an environment of peace and quiet and unsurpassed stargazing!

    While a vehicle is not required at the resort with housing close to the facilities, a vehicle is useful for major shopping or outing trips to Presidio, located 55 miles southwest of the resort, or Alpine, located 95 miles north of the resort.

    The Big Bend region is full of adventure and places to explore! Whether you want to hike the national and state park or hike right out your front door on the resort's 27,000 acres!     MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Diagnose and repair industrial kitchen and bakery equipment including, but not limited to mixers, grills, ovens, fryers, etc. Determine, with input as needed, whether the problem can be resolved on location.
    • Diagnose and repair refrigeration equipment including, but not limited to coolers, freezers, ice machines, ice cream machines, and keg coolers. Assist with setting up and implementing procedures. Facilitate daily maintenance.
    • Diagnose and repair commercial propane and electric kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, fryers, steamers, and ovens such as pressure cookers, steam kettles, tilt skillets, commercial dish machines, combi-ovens, microwaves, stoves, and conveyor-type ovens, broilers and espresso machines. Assists in the cleanliness and organization of the work areas by assuring that all containers are labeled and stored according to MSDS and NFPA standards. Keep accurate records of all daily work products.
    • Obtain information that addresses or anticipates the equipment service needs of the venue. Select the appropriate actions to meet and exceed quality service levels for each venue.
    • Preventative maintenance and rehab of all kitchen equipment to required manufacturers' specifications.

    • Clearing all used tableware and napkins from tables to tubs in bus station. Wipe table, chairs, and clear debris and crumbs from floor areas surrounding table. 
    • Resets the tables in accordance with established standards in order to seat new customers as quickly as possible.  Remove full tubs from bus stations to dishwashing area for cleaning, and maintain a clean, well-stocked and orderly bus station at all times in order to improve efficiency and productivity. 
    • Retrieve cleaned dishes, glassware and utensils from the dish room and distribute to each service station in order to keep a ready supply available for restaurant use.

    Getting Here and Getting Around

    We are located on Highway 170 where the road bends to meet the Rio Grande which is 17 miles southwest of the junction of Highways 118/170 at Terlingua, Texas.  The resort is tucked between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. 

    To put it in perspective, we are approx. 200 miles to the closest Wal-Mart in Fort Stockton, and 95 miles to the closest McDonalds or stoplight in Alpine!  We are here because we love remoteness.  No traffic, no big-city lights, creates an environment of peace and quiet and unsurpassed stargazing!

    While a vehicle is not required at the resort with housing close to the facilities, a vehicle is useful for major shopping or outing trips to Presidio, located 55 miles southwest of the resort, or Alpine, located 95 miles north of the resort. 

    For Fun

    The Big Bend region is full of adventure and places to explore! Whether you want to hike the national and state park, or hike right out your front door on the resort's 27,000 acres! We also have river access so you can kayak, paddleboard, or just go swimming whenever you like! Like mountain biking? We have hundreds of miles of trails to explore. Like to play music?
