Candidates should be caring, enthusiastic and have a genuine concern for children. These positions require maturity, creativity, and the ability to put others needs before your own. Candidates must be at least age 18 and have graduated from high school before January 1, 2024.
Room and board are included. Counselors reside in cabins with the campers. All cabins have electricity and screened windows. Most have bathrooms attached. Older camper cabins use a nearby common bathroom.
The food at camp is great! It is always fresh and served buffet style. There is something for everyone. Our Food Service Director goes out of her way to prepare nutritious alternatives for vegans, vegetarians, or people with special dietary needs. The veggie options are excellent and there is always a fully stocked salad bar for lunch and dinner.
If you put your heart into it, you will have the best summer of your life and have made a positive, lasting impression on campers who will never forget you. Other benefits include:
Many counselors choose to drive to camp. If you choose to come by bus, plane, or train, we can pick you up in Portland, the nearest major city. Portland is about 40 minutes from camp.
If you are looking to get off-campus during your time off, this never seems to be a problem. Counselors car-pool just about everywhere and we allow the use of camp vehicles under certain conditions.
Camp is recreation. We offer over 30 different activity options, we have special themed days, games like all-camp Capture-the-Flag and the list goes on! But after all that recreation, inevitably the counselors are always ready for more. Staff members have one day and two evenings off per week. Some of their favorite activities include:
Counselors are also permitted to use camp facilities and equipment during time off as long as they have permission and it does not interfere with camp activities. Yes. You can go waterskiing, wakeboarding, or tubing on your time off, among other things.
