Seasonal positions open from March through Mid-October. Most employees work May 1-August 31. There is some flexibility with start and end dates with some employees starting in May and some employees leaving in August.

  • Front Desk Agent/Reservation Specialist

    Talkeetna, Alaska

    A typical day as front desk agent will always start with having a friendly attitude. You will check guests in for their upcoming flight, as well as make reservations for future bookings. Guests get in touch with us in person, by telephone and email.  

    Check in times are busy and fun. During check-in, front desk agents greet guests, give weather briefings, perform weigh in, handle payment details and tell guests what to do while they are waiting to be called for their flight.  

    Guests come from all over the world to see Alaska and K2’s flightseeing tours of Denali are one of the major highlights of their trip. Front Desk Agents spend a lot of time with guests during the reservation and check in process. This job requires a lot of guest interaction and is ideal for a people person.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Process guest reservations, including all necessary payments
    • Handle & coordinate any arrival or tour changes, process any weather cancelled tours
    • Contact guests if they are late for their check in
    • Assist with the check-in and check-out of groups and tours
    • Handle guests' concerns
    • Assist other departments as required

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Good organizational skills

    • Ability to work well with others is a must

  • Gift Shop - Retail

    Talkeetna, Alaska

    Our gift shop sales reps are the friendly faces of K2 Aviation on Main Street.  We share our enthusiasm for flightseeing Denali, book flight tours, sell souvenirs and offer information on local attractions.  
    Gift shop sales reps work independently and are responsible for keeping the shops clean, stocked, and well displayed.  Receiving new orders into stock occurs throughout the season, including counting, pricing and recording merchandise into our Point of Sale system.  We also do outdoor yard work including weeding flower beds and watering plants, and updating promotional sidewalk signs to keep our stores looking fun and inviting.
    A strong work ethic and personal motivation are key to this position. Previous retail experience, sales experience and strong communication skills are preferred.

    Responsibilities:
    Book flights, process payments for retail and flight sales
    Assist guests with questions about existing reservations
    Communicate with airport office flight scheduling
    Become familiar with product lines to engage customers in their shopping experience
    Cleaning and yard work
    Stocking and display
    Inventory intake

  • Ramp Agent/Airline Support

    Talkeetna, Alaska

    As a Ramp Agent your primary task is to fuel airplanes, load and unload passengers and maintain the ramp as a safe and operable area.

    Flight times are busy and fun. This is when all of the aircraft come and go. Ramp Agents are busy helping guests on and off aircraft, snapping pictures, fueling and washing windows and helping pilots get ready for their next flights.

    When there are no aircraft loads to prepare or airplanes to fuel there are many other things to do. Yard work, ramp clean up, assisting the mechanics, and washing airplanes to name a few. These are all part of the day in the life of a Ramp Agent.

    Guests come from all over the world to climb, backpack and view Denali. Climbing season is late April – June and hiking trips via floatplane run June 15- Sept 15. These are both wonderfully unique trips and getting these groups prepared to fly is something Ramp Agents specialize in. You will work with climbing groups who have lots of experience climbing mountains, but most are not familiar with using a small aircraft to get started. Ramp Agents work closely with these groups to weigh and sort gear for their upcoming expedition.  

    This job is ideal for someone who likes to spend time outdoors and likes a lot of variety in their day.  Don’t worry if you haven’t worked a job like this before, we have training for each aspect of the job.

    Season:  Negotiable -  Peak season is May 15 – Sept 15. Some employees start as early as Mid-April through and stay through mid- October.

    Hours: 40 hours per week with overtime available depending on demand.

    Set schedule working the same shift each week Mid-May through Mid-August. Before and after this the schedule may be different based on peak season employees start/end dates. Most Ramp Agents work 4 days a week either 8 or 10 hour days based on employee preference.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Prepare ramp for flights in the morning and close ramp after the last flight of the day
    • Fuel and clean aircraft
    • Weigh and organize gear for backcountry trips
    • Grounds keeping of K2 facilities
    • Assist and communicate with other departments as required, specifically dispatch, pilots and maintenance

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Ability to use and maintain a variety of basic outdoor equipment (lawn mowers, etc.) 
    • Ability to lift up to 75lbs

  • Van Driver/Expeditor

    Talkeetna, Alaska

    Van Driver/Expeditors need a regular driver’s license with a good driving record to operate our vans. No special license is required. You will likely be the first face our clients see, so be ready to greet them with a smile. Safe driving, timeliness and a friendly professional attitude is really what this job is all about.    

    You’ll keep the wheels on the ground looking sharp and keep us going steady by getting guests here on time. A little conversation, talking about the weather, asking people where they’re from and you’ll be doing just fine. Between pick up times, you’ll be out on the deck helping guests get organized for flying or helping our reservation agents at the counter, checking guests in and taking reservations. 

    This job is like a summer breeze and your days will go by fast. Unless it’s raining. It does rain sometimes. Don’t worry, we’ll get through those days together.     

    Season:  Negotiable -  Peak season is May 15 – Sept 15. Some employees start as early as Mid-April through and stay through mid- October.

Frequently we work four days a week (8 or 10 hour days, employee preference) during the shoulder season, and 5 days a week in the peak season.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Pick up and drop clients off at various locations throughout Talkeetna
    • Keep the vans neat, tidy and full of fuel
    • Manage the pick-up schedule, be on time and get guests to K2 on time for check in.
    • Expedite groups: Give weather and visibility briefings, calling group names, assist with glacier boots and securing valuables.
    • Handle guests' concerns
    • Assist other departments as required

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
