SPEND YOUR SUMMER IN THE ALASKAN WILDERNESS

Experienced Server needed for intimate luxurious fishing lodge.

This is a small, family owned and operated business that caters exclusively to 8-12 guests on a weekly basis, from mid-June to mid-September. (approx 3 months). The lodge is our home and the guests are our company. It is important that you present yourself well and professionally at all times, whether on or off duty; that you provide attentive hospitality and excellent customer service to our guests.

Our universal goal is to provide the best service in hospitality to our guests ~ we do this as a team where the front-of-the-house staff and the back-of-the-house work hand-in-hand.  Whilst being a server and hostess is your primary task, we expect you to be willing to help other team members as needed for a smooth and efficient shift.  A prima donna attitude is not welcome; we want a team player. This means you’re ok to help to wash dishes in the morning, doing a load of laundry of kitchen towels; helping the chef with finishing touches, running to the store, helping out a guest, etal.

We are looking for a person is out-going and enthusiastic, flexible, who has experienced excellent service and hospitality skills. You must be a people-person, a self-motivator, have a cheerful disposition. Barista, and wine/cocktail knowledge required.

Service

We provide wake-up room service in the mornings, buffet style breakfasts, we prepare sandwiches and lunches to go, and serve 6-course plated dinners to  8-12 guests.

Schedule

Morning Service: Approx 4/5:00 AM to 7/8:00 AM

Our service revolves around fishing schedules so mornings start early. You must be a morning person with a ready smile. In the mornings, we prepare lunches /sandwiches to go; prepare the morning trays for delivery; provide a cheery wake-up service for our guests, followed by a buffet -style breakfast. After guests leave for fishing, we collect the wake-up trays from the guests’ rooms, clean up the kitchen and prepare for dinner service, setting the table, shining dinner ware and glasses, etc. We have a rotating menu that has "theme" nights and the table is set accordingly.

Dinner Service: 3:30 PM to approx. 9:00 PM

You are off during the day, returning to work at 3:30 in preparation for guests return by delivering ice buckets to their room. (Guests generally return from fishing between 3:30-5:00).  Upon their return, some may ask for drinks to be served to them whilst in the hot tub, or whilst admiring their catch at the fish-hanging rack so you'll need to be ready for service. A pre-dinner snack is available to guests from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

Cocktail/Appetizer hour proper is from 6-7.  Guests will come in en masse at that time  to mingle with one another, telling tales of their fishing adventures. During this hour, you’ll serve them wine/beer/cocktails, as is their preference, as they help themselves to the appetizers served family-style.

Dinner is served promptly at 7:00 PM: Guests sit down to their first course and dinner proceeds through the various courses very quickly. Once dessert and coffee has been served, the next day’s fishing schedule is determined and posted for all to see. Guests will may their way to the Pool room or outer decks to mingle, watch the sunset, play cards, or simply return to their rooms. Once everyone has left the table, we clear any remaining dishes, glasses, etc; set the table for breakfast, prepare the wake-up trays; assist in cleaning up the kitchen and set up for making the next day’s lunches.

Lunches

We send our guests a food preference list ahead of time, so that we know if they have any allergies and what they would like to have for a packed lunch. (Prep is required for this so that we can work efficiently in the morning).

Lodging is included
