Room and Board

All Meals and snacks are provided free of charge to all employees as a benefit of employment!  

The housing fee is $350 max per month  ($175.00 per biweekly pay period). 

We have a variety of housing options both on-site and off-site. On-site housing at the ranch is mostly dormitory style. Off-site housing is 7 miles from the ranch in downtown Granby.

Please note:

We do not have co-ed housing for couples and we are not able to accommodate families in housing.

While we do love our 4-legged friends, pets are prohibited in housing.

To live in on-site employee housing at the ranch, team members must be 18 years or older. To live in off-site employee housing, team members must be 21 years or older with their own transportation. 

Private occupancy rooms are very limited. Most tenants share a bedroom and/or bathroom with roommates.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Denver International Airport (DIA) is the closest major airport to the ranch. Ground transportation from Denver to Granby is provided by Home James Shuttle, Amtrak Train or the Greyhound Bus. We will be glad to pick up incoming staff at the shuttle stop, bus stop or train station in Granby. Employees are also welcome to drive out to the ranch.

The possibilities for outdoor adventure, both on and off the ranch, are endless! Grand County offers hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, skiing, snowboarding and more!

Some of our employees' favorite activities at the ranch include horseback riding, fishing, hiking, swimming, ice hockey, cross country skiing and tennis.

We also schedule fun staff field trips in the summer to places such as Rocky Mountain National Park, Winter Park, Grand Lake, Denver and local tourist attractions.

    JOB OVERVIEW: 

    The primary role of assistant pastry is to prepare food items according to standard recipes as specified to ensure consistency of product. Prepares cookies, pies, doughs, cakes and other basic items as instructed. 

    Performs all prep work for cakes, pies, mousses, plated desserts, breakfast pastries, lunch pastries and sourdough bread. Cleans and organize walk-in coolers and freezers. Stores all food products in walk-ins, freezers and dry storage including covering, labeling dating and proper rotation; checks expiration dates. Execution, and maintenance of assigned station scheduled for. Candidate must follow company directed specifications by performing the following duties. 

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    • Assist Pastry Chef in developing menus for pastry items 

    • Prepare, Bake Bread and make deserts with consistent quality according to recipes. 

    • Ensure that meals are prepared and delivered on time and in an acceptable quantity and quality. 

    • Assist with meals, prep, plating and other tasks as required 

    • Lead subordinates in the preparation of bread and pastry items 

    • Maintain the kitchen and prep areas making sure they are clean and organized 

    • Responsible for proper food handling and storage practices to ensure food safety 

    • Review and ensure compliance with Health Department Safety Standards and Regulations 

    • With assistance from the other kitchen and dining staff, maintain, clean and organize coolers, freezers and dry storage areas on a regular basis

    Summary:

    The Children's Program Supervisor assists the Children’s Program Manager in managing counselors who handle the program for children ages 3 through 17 years old. This person must be energetic, have contagious enthusiasm, strong work ethic, and have a strong passion for working with children. They must know and love all three programs (Teens, Mustangs, and Cowpokes) and be familiar with all horses used for kids, teens, and counselors. The Children’s Program Supervisor is a riding position and requires advanced knowledge of horsemanship, but more importantly, this role requires an individual who truly loves working with children. During months that the Children’s Program is not offered, (September – April) the Children’s Program  Supervisor will cover Little Ranch Hands needs, serve as a wrangler in the barn, and will sometimes float to other departments such as housekeeping and Food & Beverage when in need.  This individual will also be expected to help cover night activities like Karaoke, Bingo, Trivia, and Indoor Arena Events. It is paramount that the Children’s Program Supervisor exercises good common sense so that all activities will be conducted in a safe manner. The job of the Children’s Program Supervisor is to assist the Children’s Program Manager in running a well-organized, successful, safe, and fun Children’s Program! Ability to work Holidays, evenings, and weekends required.  

    Children’s Program Supervisor Primary Job Responsibilities: 

    • Assist in hiring a team of approximately 17 capable and enthusiastic counselors who can work Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.

    • Work in the barn as a wrangler or in other departments such as housekeeping and Food & Beverage when needed if there are no children on ranch. 

    • Provide counselors with the tools and training needed to ensure they can safely conduct activities for the Children’s Program.

    • Coverage of night activities (Bingo, Karaoke, Indoor Arena Events, Trivia) 

    • Help cover Little Ranch Hands needs when Children’s Program is not operating (September – April) 

    • Assist in riding through kid, teen, and counselor horses prior to Memorial Day Weekend.  • Demonstrate sound horsemanship skills and the ability to ride and perform groundwork with project horses. 

    • Have a strong knowledge of the specific children and teen horses and which age, and experience level they are best suited. Assist in monitoring usage and rest of horses to maintain optimal performance. 

    • Teach riding lessons to member children and guest children. 

    • Assist the CPM in appropriately grouping kids and teens based on age and horse experience. Assign a suitable counselor to the group.  

    • Meet with Barn Management prior to every week to make a horse list for kids, teens, and counselors.  • Attend Sunday afternoon horse assignments with Children’s Program Manager. 

    • Attend Sunday night orientation with the Children’s Program Manager.

    • Assist in conducting enthusiastic Monday morning orientation for all Mustangs and Teens. 

    • Assist in Barn Monday morning to make sure all kid, teen and counselor horses are tacked up in the correct saddle and at the trail (kid or teens). Basic understanding of saddle fit, and tack maintenance required.

    • Lead safe mount ups for kid/teen groups and dispatch trail rides.

    • Help train counselors on all trail rides, evening activities, and entertainment.

    • Assist CPM in organizing the ordering for all prizes and presents needed for carnival, bingo, and Christmas Eve.

    • Be “Santa’s Helper” on Christmas Eve making sure all guests receive a present that is appropriate for their age.

    • Management of Children’s Program and Little Ranch Hands when CPM is off or away.

    • Assist in creating new and fun programming to keep Little Ranch Hands fresh and exciting all year long.

    • Honor the long-standing traditions of the C Lazy U Children’s Program.

    • Incorporate innovative ideas into the Children’s Program to keep the program exciting and interesting.

    • Assist in maintaining all equine tack and equipment.

    • Weekly Meetings with Barn Management, Children’s Program Manager, and counselor team.

    • Create weekly schedules following budget parameters and approve payroll for Counselors when CPM is off or away.

    • Working successfully with the Children’s Program Manager.

    • Working successfully with Barn Management and Lead Wranglers.

    • Must respond confidently and efficiently in emergency, accident, and injury incidents.

    • Other assignments as required. 

    Requirements

    Education and Experience Requirements: 

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education (college or vocational training) preferred.

    Industry Experience: Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred

    Childcare Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a childcare setting preferred.

    • Must have a current First Aid and CPR certification.

    • Strong Organizational Skills.

    • Intermediate skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AI programs.

    • Must have strong background in working with children of all ages.

    • Hospitality operations knowledge and experience preferable.

    • Knowledge of horsemanship, riding, and teaching riding lessons preferred.

    • Strong preference will be given to those with a college degree majoring in early childhood education.

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

    OBJECTIVE: 

    Housekeepers are responsible for the housekeeping functions of the ranch. Individuals work in guest cabins, all public areas, and the linen room. All work is performed to standards of quality as required by the owners and communicated by the Housekeeping Manager & Housekeeping Supervisor. A successful housekeeper is one who takes pride in his/her work, is flexible, and works with initiative and momentum.   

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Clean public areas daily

    • Clean guest units daily. 

    • Distribute amenities to guest units. 

    • Evening cleaning of public areas (PM duty). 

    • Assist with evening turn-down service in guest units.

    • Weekly thorough cleaning of public areas. 

    • Weekly thorough cleaning of guest units. 

    • Clean linen room, guest laundry, and staff bathrooms in the kitchen and staff dining room. 

    • Maintain vacuums and humidifiers. 

    • Window cleaning. 

    • Carpet cleaning. 

    • Report maintenance requests to Housekeeping manager or Supervisor. 

    • Assist in the laundry. 

    • Occasionally bus tables, work dish pit, during guest meals.

    OVERVIEW: 

    Responsible for the preparation, execution, and maintenance of assigned station scheduled for. Candidate must follow company directed specifications by performing the following duties.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    • Responsible for daily requisition of non-food and food products.

    • Ensures all products are properly received, stored, and maintained in their respective areas, including but not limited to dating, labeling and rotating.

    • Assists management in training new Staff Members within department when applicable.

    • Restocks and/or breaks down workstation at the conclusion of the shift.

    • Ensure work orders and on-going projects are completed in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy.

    • Performing preventative maintenance to buildings’ interior/exterior and grounds

    • Summer seasonal technician’s additional responsibilities include grounds maintenance including repairing irrigation, mowing, weeding, spraying for mosquitos, and tree trimming.

One must be reliable, dependable, follow through, and complete the tasks assigned. Technicians will work on many projects independently.     The Member Ambassador tasked with delivering top-notch service to our esteemed guests. This role involves actively interacting with guests throughout their stay, starting from their pre-arrival experience.     The Ranch Ambassador oversees planning and coordinating all guest requests, activities, and experiences before their arrival. They will also offer billing and collaborate with the Guest Experience Manager and Concierge team to ensure all revenue is accounted for. The Ranch Ambassador will keep a confidential record of each guest’s preferences, such as likes, dislikes, birthdays, dietary needs, spa preferences, etc.
    Working directly with the CLU team, the Ranch Ambassador ensures that all guests receive personalized attention, and their needs are addressed promptly and efficiently. The role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.     • Construct watershed protection features.

    • Construct new trails using sustainable trail techniques.

    • Completes trail work in a timely and efficient manner.

    • Maintain tools and equipment in accordance with established procedures.

    • Adhere to field safety protocols to ensure safety of self and others.

    • Assist in ranch irrigation and agriculture program.

    • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems for pasture and hay fields.

    • Build and maintain pasture and property fences.

    • Follow all employee and safety handbook guidelines.

    NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs all related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to work independently with remote supervision.

    • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 45 lbs.

    • Able to walk long distances throughout the Ranch.

    • Must be able to operate machinery such as a tractor, skid steer, side by sides, mini excavator, weed eaters, chainsaws.

    • Must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude and a dedicated work ethic.
