Room and Board

All Meals and snacks are provided free of charge to all employees as a benefit of employment!  

The housing fee is $350 max per month  ($175.00 per biweekly pay period). 

We have a variety of housing options both on-site and off-site. On-site housing at the ranch is mostly dormitory style. Off-site housing is 7 miles from the ranch in downtown Granby.

Please note:

We do not have co-ed housing for couples and we are not able to accommodate families in housing.

While we do love our 4-legged friends, pets are prohibited in housing.

To live in on-site employee housing at the ranch, team members must be 18 years or older. To live in off-site employee housing, team members must be 21 years or older with their own transportation. 

Private occupancy rooms are very limited. Most tenants share a bedroom and/or bathroom with roommates.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Denver International Airport (DIA) is the closest major airport to the ranch. Ground transportation from Denver to Granby is provided by Home James Shuttle, Amtrak Train or the Greyhound Bus. We will be glad to pick up incoming staff at the shuttle stop, bus stop or train station in Granby. Employees are also welcome to drive out to the ranch.

The possibilities for outdoor adventure, both on and off the ranch, are endless! Grand County offers hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, skiing, snowboarding and more!

Some of our employees' favorite activities at the ranch include horseback riding, fishing, hiking, swimming, ice hockey, cross country skiing and tennis.

We also schedule fun staff field trips in the summer to places such as Rocky Mountain National Park, Winter Park, Grand Lake, Denver and local tourist attractions.

    • Demonstrates standards and procedures for housekeeping staff.

    • Assists with the delegation of duties to lead Houseman.

    • Assist with planning staff schedules to ensure adequate service in the absence of the manager.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Working Ranch and Guest Hospitality 

    OBJECTIVE: This position ensures staff housing and activities experience is seamless and enjoyable from arrival to departure. Responsibilities include serving as an ambassador for team members, helping to welcome and onboard new hires, assisting with employee housing, organizing employee activities, and helping to create a positive employee experience.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

    Engagement: 

    • Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for employees at the C Lazy U?

    • Support new hire welcome and assist the Recruiting and Development Specialist with the onboarding process.

    • Uniform management:

    • Document and manage uniform inventory,

    • New hire uniform disbursement.

    • Receive terminated uniforms,

    • Clean used uniforms.

    • Replace uniforms as needed.

    • Assist all on-house team members with:

    • Runing errands, doctor’s appointments, etc.

    • Coordination of employee transportation

    • Shuttle employees to Granby, as requested or as needed.

    • Maintain active staff roster.

    • Manage employee Birthday/Anniversary list each month.

    • Manage staff communication board.

    • Plan and facilitate employee activities and field trips.

    Housing: 

    • Coordinate each employee in housing units that are the best fit for them based off age, driving requirements, departments, and scheduling.

    • Ensure fees and housing agreements are up to date.

    • Ensure all Housing Agreements are thoroughly presented and signed.

    • Ensure the housing excel spreadsheet is always up to date.

    • Ensure each housing unit is clean and set up before each new arrival.

    • Complete a walkthrough of housing with each employee to help keep record of damages, or issues with the unit.

    • Complete inspections of housing to ensure cleanliness and housing policies are being adhered to.

    • Inform HR Director of any discrepancies, anomalies, and infractions.

    • Send out housing weekly inspection results.

    • Report maintenance issues to the repair log. If needed, communicate directly with the maintenance team on immediate needs.

    • Assist in addressing housing issues with the employees.

    • Communicate housing deposit deductions and returns to the VP Accounting and HR Director.

    • Communicate with accountant about payroll deduction for housing deposits and rent.

    • Schedule and manage checkouts with employees.

    • Coordinate with IT for employee emails in both hiring and termination.

    Events:

    • Research, recommend, and coordinate employee events, outings, and field trips based on staff interests, seasonal opportunities, budget, and scheduling needs.

    • Create and distribute timely event announcements, sign-up details, itineraries, and participation reminders through approved employee communication channels.

    • Coordinate transportation logistics for employee events, including scheduling shuttles, confirming pickup and return times, and ensuring safe, timely travel to and from event locations.

    • Escort or transport participants to and from events as needed, providing clear instructions, support, and a positive employee experience throughout the outing.

    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    The Lead Server is responsible for ensuring smooth and exceptional dining service for ranch guests while maintaining the standards and values of the ranch’s hospitality experience. This role serves as a liaison between the dining room staff and management, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure efficient, friendly, and professional service. The Lead Server sets the tone for a positive guest dining experience and assists in managing front-of-house operations. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Service & Guest Experience 

    • Lead dining service for all meal periods with professionalism and efficiency 

    • Provide elevated, attentive service to guests, ensuring satisfaction with food, beverages, and overall experience 

    • Anticipate guest needs, resolve issues promptly, and communicate feedback to management 

    • Support themed dinners, special events, and offsite dining with confidence and flexibility 

    Team Leadership 

    • Train, coach, and mentor servers and support staff on service standards, ranch etiquette, and safety protocols 

    • Delegate tasks during service and ensure timely table turns and guest satisfaction 

    • Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals, service notes, and menu knowledge 

    • Work with Supervisor and Manager to do seating charts, manage book4time with members, and set up tables by diagram.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • 2+ years of high-volume food service experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role

    • Ability to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays 

    • Experience in rustic, resort, or hospitality-focused environments preferred

    OBJECTIVE: 

    The maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining the guest cabins, staff units, and common areas of the ranch. This position will occasionally assist other areas of the operation as needed. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPOPNSIBILITIES: 

    • Respond to daily maintenance needs identified by manager, departments, and guests which could include responding to plumbing, electrical, heating, and service requests.

    • Prioritize tasks based on urgency and liaise with other departments or external contractors to address complex issues.

    • Ensure work orders and on-going projects are completed in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy.

    • Performing preventative maintenance to buildings’ interior/exterior and grounds

    • Evaluate property repair needs, conduct or coordinate these repairs to ensure completion in a timely manner with high level of accuracy.

    • Support other departments with labor needs.

    • Provide quality and professional service when responding to guest and staff concerns.

    • Collaboration: the maintenance department is a collaborative team. There is an expectation that one will collaborate with every member of the team at one point or another. One must be willing and able to share their ideas, hear other’s ideas, and work with the team to find the most appropriate solution to Ranch needs. 

    • Learning and growth mentality: the maintenance technician will be asked to learn new skills, work with tools they may not have prior experience using and utilize technology they may not have used before. There is an expectation that these opportunities will be approached in a positive manner and willingness to learn.

    • Time management and planning: the seasonal maintenance technician will be expected to lead some projects. They will need to coordinate with others, plan and execute that plan effectively and timely. They will need to show up on time, track their time effectively, and complete projects within the bounds of their work time. 

    • Responsibility: each member of the maintenance department is depended upon to meet the needs of such a large Ranch. One must be reliable, dependable, follow through, and complete the tasks assigned. Technicians will work on many projects independently. They must show a keen understanding of proper assessment of maintenance issues and resolve the issues effectively and accurately.

    OBJECTIVE:  

    The candidate will exhibit integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture and values of C LAZY U, ensure that all back of house staff feel welcome and are given professional, constructive guidance and treatment at all times. The candidate must perform all aspects of the position with efficiency, respect, and sense of urgency.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Duties include assisting the back of house Senior Leadership team in providing direction and guidance for production of food to include implementation of systematic production methods, standardized recipes, portion control, menu development and purchasing requirements, in carrying out assigned responsibilities. 

    • Follow directions from Executive Chef, CDC, and Senior Sous Chef regarding daily duties and tasks. 

    • Maintain and enforce directives of recipes for all food production & products. 

    • Fabricate both fish and meats (whole fish, shellfish, primal and sub primal cuts).  

    • Count and accurately record inventory of all items in food storage areas. 

    • Maintain proper rotation of inventory in assigned areas. 

    • Maintain all HACCP regulations set forth by the state food and health department, and C  Lazy U operating procedures. 

    • Ensure a clean & sanitary workstation, as well as enforce state sanitation standards throughout the facility. 

    • Understand completely all programs, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs set forth by C Lazy U Ranch.
