    Guest Experience Department - Healing Arts Team

    Healing Arts Coordinator (“HAC”)

     

    The Healing Arts Coordinator (“HAC”) is an important leadership position within the Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat & Conference Center (“BHS”). The HAC is one of four Guest Experience Coordinators and will collaborate closely with the Kitchen Coordinator and Guest Services Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of the Guest Experience Department. The HAC reports to the Business Director and will work closely with the Finance Director when it comes to budgeting and headcount.

     

    The HAC is responsible for the operation, planning, and overall functioning of the Healing Arts team operations, including, but not limited to: purchasing, scheduling, budgeting, inventory, training, interviewing and participating in the hiring of new staff.

     

    The Healing Arts team at Breitenbush is in the process of being re-established. Currently we are offering massages to our guests by scheduling Licensed Massage Therapists (“LMTs”) who are able to come for short stints of time. We are needing an individual to focus on hiring and building a team of full time LMTs. While continuing to coordinate the current roster of part time LMTs plus refine and establish operational systems. This position will include both administrative work and massage therapy. As the Healing Arts Team matures to a place of effective performance the manager position will either no longer be needed or be absorbed into the teams. In our eyes this would be a sign of success from the HAC position.

Although this position is accountable to the responsibilities listed below, a main objective for this position will be to disperse duties and responsibilities throughout your team(s). 

     

    The HAC is responsible for effective oversight, management, delegation, and execution in the following areas: 

     

    Administration in Support of Healing Arts

    • Responsible for the budget that supports the Healing Arts, including: labor, supplies, vendors & services, equipment needs, etc.

    • Responsible to oversee the management of the Healing Arts team in their day-to-day operations 

    • Oversee the hiring, training and performance reviews of Healing Arts team members

    • Work with the Personnel Coordinator if any personnel related issues arise within the team

    • Works with accounting department to process invoices, make payments, and track receipts

    • Manages budgets within Board of Directors-approved targets.

    • Oversees Healing Arts team purchases and tracking

    • Keeps inventory and supply budget on track 

    • Manages the massage rooms and facilities

    • Coordinate with Clearing Arts for sheets and linens 

    • Responsible for stocking and ordering supplies

    • Maintains effective workflow of LMTs

    • Manage the massage appointment system so that it is updated and correct 

    • Creates and maintains the LMT schedule

    • Coordinated any coverage with fill-in or part time LMTs

    • Maintains database of current and previous LMTs

    • Develops and maintains training manuals for Healing Arts team

    • Responsible for checking with Personnel to ensure insurance and license info is updated

    • Ensures Healing Arts communication with guests are updated and accurate

     

    Required Qualifications

    • Oregon massage license and liability insurance

    • Minimum 2-3 years professional massage experience required

    • Must offer Swedish/Relaxation massage, though additional modalities are welcome

    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

    • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

    • Proven ability to build and lead an effective team

    • Interest in various healing modalities

     

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with worker-owned cooperatives

    • Management experience

    • Experience with appointment systems (ex. Acuity Scheduling and Google Calendar)

     

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Level 2, Tier 1 of Breitenbush Co-op Wage Scale (currently $16.88/hr)

  • Lead / Prep Cook

    Guest Experience Department - Kitchen Team
    Breitenbush
    $13.50 / hour

    Breitenbush Hot Springs is seeking a prep cook employee to join our existing vegetarian kitchen team. This position is vital to the success of the food service we provide to our guests.

    This is a full-time regular hire position that reports to the Breitenbush Guest Experience Director.

    Last September, Breitenbush was severely damaged by wildfires. All of our guest cabins were lost, along with a few other guest facilities. We are in the process of rebuilding and have been slowly opening to guests this summer with fewer amenities than in the past.

    Work is full-time and shift hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Prep Cook Job Responsibilities:

    • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies
    • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces
    • Follows direction of and works directly with lead cooks
    • Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage
    • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces and supplies during shift
    • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs

    Prep Cook Qualifications/Skills:

    • Basic written and verbal communication skills
    • Organizational skills
    • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
    • Ability to work as a team member
    • Follows directions and instructions
    • One year of experience as a prep cook and/or restaurant worker
    • Food Handlers Card

    Compensation and Benefits
