True Alaska

The season runs from approximately late-April to mid-September. During this beautiful time period in Southeast Alaska, we venture “off-the-beaten-path” on three newly renovated 40-74 passenger ships, experiencing thrilling wildlife and glacier viewing in world-renowned locations. In addition, travelers visit remote native villages, exclusive bays, and company-owned Orca Point Lodge- destinations many visitors to Alaska never get the opportunity to explore. As a member of our team you will greatly enhance the guest experience on all of these adventures by ensuring the highest standards of safety and service.

Room and Board

Ship staff sleep onboard. All meals provided.

Employee Perks

Crew members live in comfortable crew quarters aboard our vessels. Excellent galley teams provide hearty and delicious meals three times a day. Employees can expect a competitive wage as well as an end-of-season bonus for completing contracts in good standing.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Our home base is in beautiful Sitka, Alaska. This community on western Baranof Island faces the Gulf of Alaska, and is only accessible by sea or by air. Prior to each season, crew members participate in a 60-80 hour paid training program. This is an essential and exciting time in which employees acquire all the necessary skills to be successful in their various roles.

Our Jobs

This kind of unity makes for both a fun and successful season! While the work can be hard and demanding, you’ll find great satisfaction in the camaraderie that develops. Furthermore, you’ll experience the immediate gratification of seeing how meaningful your work is to our guests.

Candidates should be:
  • At least 18 years old at the time of employment
  • US Citizens- proof of eligibility to work required
  • Drug free- pre-employment and random drug testing required
  • Available for the entire cruise season and complete terms of contract in good standing
  • Positive, with a genuine concern for the happiness and well-being of the guests
  • Flexible and able to adapt to sudden changes in routine
  • Team oriented with a strong work ethic

Shipboard: Captain, Chief Mate, Second Mate, Chief Engineer, Licensed Lead Deckhand, Deckhand, Hotel Manager, Cultural Heritage Guide, Naturalist, Head Chef, Sous Chef, Galley, Utility, Baker, Bartender, Steward
